  • "A brief, but exciting menu makes it difficult for the diner to chose. I had the fabulous escargot and the dinner special that night, chateaubriand. The chateaubriand was so fresh and excellently prepared that I did not even need to use any Bernaise sauce. Hats off to the excellent chef and our wonderful waiter, Ian."

Our party of three ordered heirloom tomato salad with pistachio pesto, escargot, squash soup, wild mushroom ravioli, Alaska halibut with a salt crust and fresh asparagus, steak au poivre, . It's a special occasion restaurant that I don't patronize often enough but I appreciate that it is in my neighborhood, one of Santa Fe's near-downtown old barrios."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our meal two nights ago at Bouche. They do a very good job of creating a relaxed, yet elegant european atmosphere with contemporary place settings at tables on the patio surrounded by very comfortable red metal chairs - I felt like I was a world away from our daily routines. The heirloom tomato salad was the most memorable I've tasted in many years. I also ordered the escargot to share and the small plate of mushroom ravioli, which was the perfect portion size for me and uniquely delicious with the pea reduction sauce. The service was very attentive. We will return."

A lovely selection of "small plates" and appetizers with locally sourced ingredients, including bistro favorites such as escargot, seared fois gras, steak frites, and perfectly cooked sweetbreads with wild mushrooms. Our waiter was gracious and knowledgeable, recommending of a ZD Pinot Noir (by the glass) to accent the sweetbreads, after starting off with a half bottle of Ruinart Champagne with our Heirloom Tomato/house-made Burrata salad, and thinly shaved tuna carpaccio. The desert list was equally appealing. The Chef/owner Charles circulated the room from time to time ensuring the overall satisfaction of his guests. Highly recommended!"

  • "We had a great evening at Bouche. The staff is very professional and the ambiance is lovely but the food is the draw. Grilled octopus was good, not great. 3 very tiny pieces that although grilled nicely could have been enhanced with a bit more flavor - even a drizzle of great olive oil would have helped. The black mussels w/ a touch of red chile were the star attraction! Going back here to have the mussels as an entree - sopping it all up the best bread in Santa Fe. Very good chicken paillard, nicely spiced and perfect for a summer evening. This restaurant is a real plus for the SF food scene - definitely recommend it."

  • "Authentic French bistro in a local neighborhood. The Steak au Poivre was well seasoned with fresh herbs and gentle peppercorns. The Bouillabaisse was not that great.Shrimps were tough but sweet, haddock was nicely done, squid was overcooked, mussels were not completely cleaned- Nicoise Tuna was great but Heirloom Tomato salad overdressed and small. Profiterole had great ice cream and cocoa syrup but the pastry was tough. The Strawberry tart had great creme anglaise but again the pastry was tough. Like many of Santa Fe's higher end restaurants, they are trying very hard but the service is lacking (waitstaff could not pronounce names of dishes at a French restaurant) and the quality of food preparation is uneven."

  • "Bouche was our choice for dinner on our last night of a 10 day stay in Santa Fe. We did not have a bad meal anywhere, but I would rate Bouche as one of the top two restaurants we visited (along with Joseph's Bisto). You have an option of entrees or small plates, and my wife and I opted to share salad, grilled octopus, frog legs and escargot. All were excellent, and the service was impeccable. The chef comes out to visit with guests every hour or so, and the outdoor ambiance was great. They also offered a larger than usual selection of half bottles of wine, which was perfect. All in all, we will be back!"

A seared California sea bass, perfectly cooked and the menu mushroom raviolis w/ spring peas complimented our bottle of 2012 Sancerre. Excellent and friendly service, as always, and a new and expanded wine selection make Bouche a must for visitors craving a 'chili-free' evening, and locals alike."

  • "Beer and wine only. Let me be clear - ONE French beer available. I realize this is a french restaurant, but France is not where I go for good beer, it was terrible and it was the ONLY option. The service was fine. The chairs outside, deathly uncomfortable. The food was good but a little expensive. I've had comparable meals here. My friend who had the mussels definitely ordered the best thing at the table. All in all a very so-so experience. Not sure what all the rave is about. For a French Bistro I'd much rather go to 315."

  • "When I read the previous reviews for this restaurant , I was surprised of how much food people were ordering. I ended up ordering as much food as they did. Two courses for me and two courses for my wife, plus desserts. We ate the very last bite. The food was fantastic: I had the Tenderloin Steak Tartare and the Frog Legs Provencal-style - out of this world. And the Demerara Crème Brûlée, my mouth is watering just thinking of it. The wine list was very long (by my standards) and I started to get lost in it, but we were saved by a very nice server who told us they also have beer. But only one kind. The Kronenbourg 1664. Well, this is my favorite beer, so no apologies needed here. Spot on."

  • "The night we were there it was obvious that they were short staffed - even the chef was bringing food to the table. They were total pros, never missing a beat in service. The food was exceptional as always. The grilled octopus and halibut were outstanding along with the truffle pomme frites. I can't say enough good things about Bouche. Kudos from a local Santa Fean...can't wait until the next fabulous meal."
