The food just simply wasn't good. One person had Pasta, very average. Three of us had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken which is highly recommended- was below average, and a bit soggy.
Sorry, not worth the price.
This is probably my favorite restaurant in Palm Springs. There are trendier ones but this is tried and true and in the perfect location for people watching smack in the middle of downtown. My favorite hostess was not working this particular night and I did miss her. She adds class to the place.
Our server David was wonderful, and the food delicious. Some of the best people watching in Palm Springs.
We've been regular clients to Zin since they opened and they never fail to over-deliver! Amazing food, excellent menu choices and one of the best wine cellars in the desert. Go in and say hi to Mindy the owner, she's always smiling!
Food and service was great. Quality and price were in line. The macadamia schnitzel was nicely done and highly recommend to anyone seeking comfort food. Nice job.
Always wonderful to go to Zin for Valentines day. Excellent service and wonderful people.
We had the proxy fixe menu for Valentine’s Day and everything was excellent, including the cocktails. We’ll be back!
My girl friend I really enjoy Zin. The servers are always very pleasant and the food quite tasty. They change their menu quite often so you don't have to worry about having the same thing.
Great atmosphere and service. We celebrated Valentine’s Day with friends and it did not disappoint. Food was great except salmon was a bit overdone but everyone does that
Wonderful lunch with excellent service! Delicious food, cocktails and we will return! Thank you!
Zin is a dependable favorite in Palm Springs. Always delicious food and attentive waiters and staff.
Celebrating a birthday. Food was fabulous. Sat outside even though a bit chilly all the heaters were on so it was very comfortable. Service was great! Will definitely go back.
One of our favorite spots in Palm Springs!
I had fried chicken, husband, beef stew. both were very good.
Our server, Cindy, was so warm and helpful. She made our dinner.
The was staff was amazing.
Always scanning the room to see what was needed, then there to take care of it. The sraff worked so well together it was like a ballet. Kudos on the training.
Hostess greeted us warmly btw.
Awesome menu and a huge fairly priced wine list. We dined here on a Thursday and sat outside so we would see all the people walking by during the street festival and were entertained by great live music courtesy of Jimmy T. We loved our meals and the wine was amazing. Server was very friendly and attentive. Some of the poor reviews had me worried prior to dining but our experience was 100% great.
Poor service. Staff spilled half my cocktail on the table and on me. They should have brought another drink or taken the spilled one off the tab. You make a mistake like that and there be more than "Ooops. I'm sorry," and move on.
We have been to Zen in past years, unfortunately last Friday nights meal lack favor on any level or any of the dishes we had at our table.
It’s a nickel & dime operation. It was a mistake staying after I read the rules on the menu.
Amazing food, service and ambiance. Oh and the wine list is awesome! Thank you!
Zin-America bistro is wonderful! They have an excellent wine list, delicious food, attentive staff, and great atmosphere. They have a great patio on the main drag, so the people watching is excellent. Inside is more cozy. They recently updated their menu...the choices are excellent...something for every palate...I highly recommend Zin!
The meals we ordered were perfectly cooked and nicely presented. Curated selection of wines by the glass, and the full wine list is very impressive; from affordable to extravagant. Personable and attentive service.
food sounds great on the menu but is disappointing in person
Not great for kids but the adults all enjoyed their meals. A bit too loud for a large group.
Well-managed and well served, dining at Zin American Bistro always brings an ecclectic atmosphere of locals and tourists, alike. The fixed price menu (available most of the time) is an incredible bargain, but everything on the menu is also worth ordering. Most items are locally-sourced, and the dedication and pride of being managed and staffed by ultra-locals is readily apparent. Fun, fine dining -- all in a casual and delightful environment.
I have never been more disappointed with a meal at Zin American Bistro than I was during this visit. My favorite dinner meal has always been the macadamia crusted chicken schnitzel. I ordered it as usual but it came out of the kitchen burned and way overcooked. Another member of our dinner party also ordered the chicken schnitzel and it was also burned and overcooked. The fingerling potatoes were also way overcooked, resembling shriveled prunes. We were given a 50% reduction in the cost of our two meals but both should have been completely comped since we were only able to eat a few carrots from the entire plate. And to make matter even worse, a person at a neighboring table ordered the fried chicken and it came out of the kitchen burned black. What?!?! Isn't anyone looking at the meals before they leave the kitchen?!?! Will not be visiting Zin again anytime soon.
Great food with an option for a 3 course all encompassing meal. The mussels were fantastic! Prices were reasonable for the amount of food and quality. A wide variety that would satisfy everyone in your party. We had a large group and our waiter could not have been more friendly and accommodating. A fantastic experience and evening!
Our Server Heather was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine selection. This is one of our favorite places to eat in Palm Springs and this is by far the best service we’ve had here in all the years we’ve eaten here.
We love Zin and it is our go to restaurant whenever we’re in Palm Springs. The mushroom truffle soup is amazing.
Excellent service and very good food. Sat outside during the street festival
Jamie, our waiter, was very good. Free range chicken salad and slalom niscoise both excellent.
Pleasant afternoon on the patio. It's not quiet, but reasonable. As their wines by the glass change,
best to see the list or quiz what's available.
One of our favorite Palm Springs restaurants, and we live here,
Another great night at Zin! Dominic is the best!!! Delicious food wvery single time!!!!
Our server Cindy was outstanding! -(the perfect balance of attentive and unobtrusive). As was the bartender's Cosmopolitan (just the right blend - NOT the bright pink cliche).
This place is on the main strip. Lovely setting, plenty of outdoors seating in a prime location for people watching. I appreciated the wait staff's knowledgeable care and managing of my gluten allergy and the excellent service overall. I had sea bass and vegetables, forgoing the rice. The chard was excellent. The fish was ok - not bad, but nothing to write home about. I did notice other patrons very much enjoying the meat dishes. I'm sure these and other dishes are more in their wheel house (than sea bass) and worth trying.
One of the worst dinners I’ve had. Food was incredibly subpar in execution and options. Did the fixed menu on NYE and they were out of options, charged us for more expensive alternatives, and steak was poorly cooked, low quality ingredients.
New Years eve
My family thought it was good. We are going back some day. The staff was nice.
We like this restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. On New Year's Eve I had the cauliflower steak and mushroom soup with truffle oil. Outstanding. The other guests ordered a variety of items off the menu and were all pleased.
Excellent food and attentive service on a busy holiday evening (New Year’s Eve). We have been here many times and have never been disappointed. The wine list is exceptional.
Excellent food excellent staff and excellent service
