Very sad that this was not like our last visit. We were at this restaurant in December and had a fabulous meal. We were there to celebrate my daughters birthday, and the waiter made it so much fun, with a beautiful dessert, which was on the house. To start the meal with a delicious bread, which was also complementary. We decided to bring my mom back to celebrate her 87th birthday. What a huge disappointment. We had to pay for our bread, which was now 6 little muffins, which costs $3.50. My mom just wanted a salad, which was $13.00. Her salad had a little lettuce, a few pieces of bacon, and a few other vegetables. Entirely overpriced. My meal was good, but I was hungry when I left. My mom's birthday was not even acknowledged. Such a big disappointed from our last visit! We will not be coming back again unless things change back to the way they were.
This is a fun place right in the heart of 5th Ave. Food was good. Cocktails were too. That night they pulled us in saying bottles of wine were $1 over retail price but the selections were $45 and up. We had teenage boys with us and they enjoyed it. Short rib tacos were fantastic!
Yabba is one of our favorite go to restaurants. HOWEVER, let’s start treating early diners as true guests and not second class citizens! The policy about not seating people until EXACTLY 5:30 and hustling them off the the bar is just a ploy to buy drinks that are more expensive than at the table! If I wanted to hang out at the bar I wouldn’t have made a reservation! Secondly, if you’re offering early dining incentives, don’t do it for a HALF HOUR! Give people a chance to read the menu and put there order in. THIRD, allow people to sit in the outside room if they request it...it should not reserved for those who come in after 6PM!!! Again...second class citizens! FOURTH, what’s with the no bread basket policy???? Now we have to BUY six cornbreads for $6.50??? Who does that??? Yabba, you are making some big mistakes which will eventually cost you your clientele. We live here, and always bring our guests, but they too were turned off by these policy changes. Let’s get back to treating your clients as guests.
Poor experience. After ordering our drinks and our dinner entrees, we waited for awhile. We called the waitress and asked for some bread while we waited. She told us that they don’t serve bread. We could order an appetizer if we wanted. We said no, just some bread. She said other people have complained also, so we asked to see the manager on duty. He came over and said they didn’t offer bread to keep the cost of the entrees low! He said what do you want for cheap. We were really upset as were our guests. Very snippy.
The food was excellent, but we will not go back!
Our guests suggested that we tell others to bring your own bread in a bag!
Spoiled what was supposed to be a lovely evening. BEWARE!
This was my second time dining here and I still love the pecan chicken entree though this time they changed it a bit and didn't have as good a bread stuffing as before. Plus they left off the apple slaw that accompanied it last time. But we tried the 6 little cornbreads and enjoyed that. And the mussels/clams/etc. over pasta was good too. We enjoy the outdoor dining right next to Sugden Theater with the pretty lights on the palm trees. A $10 off coupon didn't hurt either!
Excellent meat and reasonable prices. Will come back
We have enjoyed Yabba for many family events and occasional dining. This was our first visit since the re-branding and new menu. Unfortunately, we miss the casual Caribbean atmosphere. Now the ambience is no different than any other restaurant on 5th Avenue. My wife enjoyed the cedar plank salmon. My sweet and spicy steak did not deliver. It was mostly sweet and the contrasting flavors did not mesh - very much disappointed. Not sure we will return.
Great meal and presentation. The slices of filet of beef were rather chewy
a well varied menu, of well prepared dishes. Restaurant was empty, yet service was slow. No bread is put out on table, and only after asking were we advised that cornbread could be purchased. Food was delicious, but the operation was in slo mo? I was rather disappointed, but would recommend based on the food.
Greg the manager is super helpful and friendly. The food is always excellent and the portions are generous
Almost Everything was very nice. My husbands Swordfish was rather dry, but passable, on previous visits it has bee great; my Lobster claw was next to impossible to crack the waitress had to take it to the kitchen. Perhaps it should have been pre cracked. But we always have a mice meal and the waitstaff are well trained, the noise lever is good, you can have a conversation without yelling.
Will never go back. Fish and filet over cooked. Trigger fish was so hard I had to cut it with a knife. Ordered steak medium rare, but came with no red in the middle. cappuccinos tasted like light chocolate milk. Overall, was not a very nice Mother’s Day for my wife. I was embarrassed.
Worst service I have ever had in a downtown Naples restaurant - ignored basically by waiter, who failed to bring ice bucket for white wine, never refilled our wine glasses, and never even asked after serving meal if everything was fine - which it was not - my steak that I requested medium was rare - had to get manager, but I will never go back and it was not the experience I wanted for my husband's birthday.
Good service. Tables spread out- chairs comfortable. Food average
Good food and service
The fried shrimp and grouper was deep fried in oil that hasn’t Ben changed in a month
Your chef leaves a lot to be desired maybe that is why it was empty
I miss the Carribean vibe to the food that an older menu used to have. Lots of seafood on this menu, but honestly it's pretty much the same menu as every other seafood/steak restaurant in Naples. The decor is very nice, the location can't be beat (close to free parking garage). Nice drinks menu too.
We had a great experience here. Server was fantastic and Manager couldn’t have been any nicer. Food and drinks were all outstanding!
Food was terrible. They have a lot of nerve charging over $50 for a dry steak and lobster.
Too many other good restaurants on 5th ave
No wonder the place was empty
We were a large party of 6 adults plus 2 toddlers. The servers were exceptionally helpful and attentive. The outdoor table location was perfect for enjoying the sights and sounds of activity on 5th Avenue. The food was great and served promptly.
Why was I not eligible to receive points for this reservation which I booked on Open Table?
We chose Yabba because of its close proximity to the theater, which it is right next to. I ordered the Vegetable Lasagna, made with vegetable noodles... (not pasta noodles). It came with a vodka sauce. If somebody orders this type of dish, they are usually very health conscious, which I am. The vodka sauce that is mixed into it is sooo loaded with cream. I asked for it on the side and was told it was all mixed together, pre-made like that. So I thought I would try it. But Yabba really missed the mark, because they should know that a health conscious person usually does not want all that cream. Maybe having it also available with just a marinara type sauce would be a suggestion. Service was great. Restaurant is lovely to be in.
Service was ok. Food was not cooked properly outer surface was hard and very crisp. Inside fish was not cooked. When asked how the food was and explained the food wasn’t that great and possible not cooked on the inside the waitress oh ok. And brought the bill. Must have been a bad day. Unfurtunaty I won’t go back.
The sword fish was dry and everything was extremely salty.
From the beginning when our hostess (who was incredible) seated us, we had a great time. Spicy Steak dish was a bit disappointing as the "medallions" of steak were barely large enough to make a meal for a small appetite. But all else was great. Good menu and great deals on wine.
Will definitely go back and tell friends to try it out.
Great menu. Fish dishes and Rasta Pasta great. Vegetable lasagna a winner. Beer and wine selection good. Strong drinks.
Sort of an early bird specials venue
Staff odd right from get go
Not warm or welcoming
Won’t be back
Third time there this seaso . Each visit has been very good. All in our pry you enjoyed the meal and all would return.
If I had a negative comment, it would only be to turn the music down a bit, and maybe a softer type of music.
Great restaurant, will definitely return when back in the fall.
Our server, Chris, was excellent. He recommended a few specials which were very good.
He was attentive coming over several times to see how our meals were & bringing over additional water.
My husband, son and I dined here last Monday. And while the service was fine, two out of the three filets we ordered were over cooked and grey. They were ordered as medium rare and medium, we were expecting them to be juicy and tender, instead they were tough and just not a color that a fresh steak should be. The manager did offer to get us new ones, which we waited for, but they were just as bad. I sawed one piece out of mine, but couldn’t eat anymore. It looked and tasted like old meat. The manager never came back to check on us, and my plate was cleared looking exactly as it was delivered. Nothing was said or offered, we were given a $250.00 check and told to have a good night! I have absolutely no problem paying for a good meal, which is why we chose to go to Yabba instead of a chain restaurant, but after working in the restaurant business for 20 years now myself, I’ve never seen people treated so carelessly. I did email the restaurant directly the next morning, but never heard anything back.
Crowded...waiter not attentive...food rushed out as if they wanted to turn table quickly
Lovely restaurant! Good service by Chris and delicious food! "Specials" are a bit pricey! It's nice to sit outside on the side patio and people watch while enjoying the evening. Right next door to Sugden Theater if your going to a play afterwards
Food and service were just ok.
We have been several times we love it.
Waiting until into April to go back, not so many people.
The valet parking downtown is awesome, would not frequent as much without it.
We just had a simple date night and choose Yabbas.
Have dined there many times over the past three years and have always loved it for the food and value. This time the menu items have changed (been removed) and what I had to eat in the past was not as good or as large and the price increased 30%.
Good restaurant and service. Food was good, not unbelievable, but was a good deal. Would go again with kids. Waitstaff was excellent.
Since we had a large group of 9 girls of all ages, I thought Yabba Island Grille was the best pick for showing off downtown Naples. I had also listed on Open Table that we were celebrating a birthday & the waitress remembered & even brought out a birthday dessert and sang happy birthday. Nice surprise. We all had something different & everyone enjoyed their meal.
Thank you Yabba! We are already recommending your restaurant! The early-bird dinner & special on a bottle of wine made for a very affordable dinner, and a VERY delicious dinner!!
We'll be back!!
Yabbas never disappoints. Always on the list when in Naples for a Yabbarita and great food & friendly service.
