Food was fabulous. Service was very slow. Orders were messed up. They did comp some food and overall didn’t seem that busy for as slow as service was. Saw some friends and they left after sitting at their table almost 10 min with no sign of waiter or anything. That’s not acceptable at dining establishment like Woodfire and for the price you pay for the food
50th birthday was noted when making the reservation but was never even referenced by the wait staff or hostess. That would not have bothered us at all but the waiter overall was just not good. Our soup and salad took 45 minutes to arrive and when it did finally arrive he didn’t know which one of us had soup and who had salad. During that time we did not hear from our waiter after our drinks were delivered. He promised bread but we finally asked a Mgr for it. I also had to request more wine from the mgr. after main course was delivered the waiter checked back on us to make sure everything was cooked ok AFTER we had finished 3/4 of our meal. The saving grace was the fantastic flavor of our meals. We’ve eaten here 6-7 times and this was by far the worst service we’ve ever had.
I would like more menu choices. I can’t eat pasta or anything spicy. I had a baked potato and wedge salad that was good but is was just a potato. And pretty salad. I would like something like fish or brisket tacos small plate menu for those with tight budget and little appetites
We had reservations and got to the restaurant at the time of the reservation but was not allowed to be seated, they said due to the waiter being behind. We wanted to sit at our table and drink water or our beverages but they would not allow it. Once we did get seated (15-20 min later) it took forever for our service then when we got service they only filled our drink cups 1/2 way and when we ran out it took forever to get more. It also took forever to get our order taken. Their was a small party at another table of 3 adults and 4 kids and our waiter gave them all the attention. Apparently they give too many tables to one server, or they should get a person to bust tables and serve drinks so the waiter can do their job.
I made an online reservation for 6:45 pm (I called to confirm it). My online reservation said we preferred a booth. Before we arrived a member of our party called to ask if there was anything special for a birthday reservation. The male who answered acted as if we were confused to even ask - he said no, nothing..a little short with her. There were 4 of us and it was a birthday celebration. We arrived at 6:45. There was a couple with no reservation in line ahead of us. A group of 5 or 6 (unsure) behind us in line--also no reservation. We were told we could not be seated because our waitress was "catching up". We watched the couple be seated in a booth. We asked why the couple were seated in a booth when we were waiting/with a reservation. We were told, "I don't like to seat a party of 4 in a booth". Then the party of 5 were gone and we assumed they were seated. I went to ask about our 6:45 reservation and told it would be a few more minutes. A little after 7 my daughter asked the hostess when we could be seated and she was "snippy" with her. By this time it was nearing 7:15 and we figured if we asked again, it would be even longer wait. Finally a little after 7:15 we were seated. Initially, the waitress was also snippy with us but quickly became more friendly as we treated her as kindly as possible due to her need to "catch up". We ordered a bottle of wine, several drinks, appetizers and 4 dinners with additional salads. I did not pay the tab at the bar or for the dinner, but I assure you we spent a fair amount of money and left a good tip for having a 30-minute wait after making a reservation and watching those without reservations be seated before us. The situation, we joked, could have been a Seinfeld episode it was so chaotic. The hostess was far from pleasant or even cordial. I believe her name was Marion? She was young, thin and had long dark hair. I felt as though she may be purposely delaying our seating because of our inquiries.
This place does not disappoint! I brought my friend to celebrate her 50th birthday and she had a fantastic time. She loved the calamari, scallops and chocolate cake. Dave our server was just the best. He made time to check up on us. It was the best choice to celebrate a special occasion.
Awesome love it. Great place to eat an enjoy good company.
Good food and good price. Waited 45 mins. for a table even with reservations. Service could improve and Host could be much better!! 45 mins. wait with reservation is totally unacceptable!!
Loved the food and service was good our waiter just had a lot of large tables to take care of and we waited awhile for our dessert
We were seated promptly, and the service was excellent. We love the 'fireside' decor, and the food was delicious. We almost didn't order the 'Boxcar' chicken, because of the name, but we were glad we did. Please consider renaming it a more enticing name. We were very disappointed that the sweet potato had been removed from the menu, as it was my favorite item from our visit before. My mouth had been watering for it.
Most excellent! Have eaten there many times, never disappointed. Relaxing atmosphere, great food and service. Gets 5 stars all the way.
A excellent choice for special occasions, the menu has recently changed, with considerably reduced choices for the non-steak items, and unfortunately the 24 Oz porterhouse was replaced by a 24 Oz T-bone although it was good the porterhouse was excellent.
Great food!! Service was a little slow both times we have been there.
The food was good enough and the service was great but the prices are very high for no more than what you get. It is attached to a casino so the prices are inflated as usual for that issue and the walk through the smokey casino is a tremendous negative to me.
As always it was lovely as ever !! Definitely going back !!
My only regret is that I live so far away. OMG if I lived closer I would eat there regularly. Also the coconut cake was exquisite. If we ever go back and lucky enough that they are serving it again, I'm considering buying an entire cake.
Food, service, and atmosphere were great. Prices were a little higher than other similar restaurants, but overall very good choice for a special occasion.
We had the Wednesday special prime rib & it was wonderful.
I always say you can't pay too much for a great meal. We were very happy with our choice.
Most excellent! They even got us in early when it became necessary. Have enjoyed a meal there many times and have never been disappointed in any aspect of our visit. Keep up the great work!
Birthday . Great place with excellent food!
The service and food were outstanding. Nice quiet place to have dinner without TVs and music drowning out conversation. Only complaint was that it was very cold. Need to turn the AC down a bit.
So delicious, just like every time we’ve gone. Always feel like a treat!
Excellent all the way around. The Prime Rib special on Wednesday’s is fantastic!!!!
It is always fabulous!
Great food Great service enjoyed it very much. We will be back
The food was delicious, as usual. Our server was efficient, professional, and helpful with menu items. Lovely restaurant and nice, quiet atmosphere. The lobster bisque is better than I’ve had anywhere. It’s so delicious!
The waitress we had was the most rudest person I have ever had for a waitress. We ask her to split our bill up and she acted like woodfire never does that for anyone. She proceeded to say “I work here for 7 years and we never do that.” Which was a straight up lie. We came there about 2 weeks ago and our waiter Dee did that for us. She needs not to be a waitress there. I spend to much money at woodfire and the casino to be great like crap. SHE NEEDS TO FIND ANOTHER LINE OF WORK. OR GET CUSTOMER SERVICE CLASS. And that’s why she got nothing for a tip. She deserve no tip from any of our parties that were there that night. Maybe cause we were a minority party. But she sure did treat the party of white people of 6 with her best. Never again will I come to woodfire or recommend it to anyone.
We were there for the prime rib special. An excellent value for a well-prepared meal.
Always first rate. Best prime rib in the area. Shhhhh. Don’t tell anyone😎
We had 2 ribeye, which we ordered medium, knowing the cook would mess up and cook them medium rare, which he did, so those were great! We also ordered the flat iron steak, which we realized was the cheapest option after tasting it, my husband barely ate half of it. The mashed potatoes tasted instant, and now for the best part. When I asked for a tea to go, because there isn’t any ice tea readily available, I was told no, we aren’t allowed to. 2 nights in a row, the steaks weren’t cooked right, and the flavor of the food is way better elsewhere. Won’t ever go back, which is a shame, because in total I dropped $1000 in 2 days.
Steaks not cooked right, sent back, sill wrong!
Love coming on Wednesday’s for BOGO prime rib!!! Service was great, food was delicious and a fun atmosphere right outside the door!
Wonderful dining experience!! Would most definitely return!
Very nice dinner. Food excellent. Service a bit slow on occasion, but friendly. Someone had a baby or small child with the usual noise. Too bad they can’t be banned.
Food was great, all the steaks we're cooked perfectly (even for the heathens at the table who ordered well done). All the food we had was great, steaks, salads, mashed potatoes, lobster mac and cheese (which I highly recommend, it's a splurge but hey, you're at an expensive place, don't skimp. It's worth it) Great wine list at decent prices. The server was very knowledgeable and able to offer great suggestions on wine and other menu items. He was attentive and friendly, but also not overbearing. I'm surprised this place isn't more popular. Very worth the drive coming from Wichita.
Our service was amazing and he had great recommendations for us throughout the entire menu. Food was great, especially the flat iron steak!
After purchasing my tickets to the concert, we decided we would try this steakhouse as it has been said that it is a good place to eat. Reservations were made and we were seated on time. We were handed menus by the hostess and we decider that we would have an appetizer and would go from there after the wait staff to our drink order and app order. After 10 minutes of waiting, we had decided that we would choose our entree. After waiting 20 minutes, without any wait staff even offering a glance or a glass of water, we decided to leave and let the hostess know our table was open for someone else to have as we would not be ignored any longer. It is very dissapointing that the table next to us that was seated a few minutes after us, had drinks, bread and had their app order taken by the time we had left. I would not suggest this restaurant to anyone, ever. Thank you for beginning our weekend with a sour taste in our mouth for this establishment.
The food was good.... the prime rib could have had more flavor. Our server was friendly enough but things took a bit too long. He could have better managed his trips through the dining room. Our soda glasses sat empty quite a while. Since you have to individually pay for all of the add one like a potato and salad.... the entrees are a tad over priced.
