We had a great special anniversary dinner with our two kids. The waiter was phenomenal and was great with us and our kids. The appetizers were our favorite part of the meal but honestly the whole meal was delicious. The accommodated our requested seating. It was our favorite dinning experience during our vacation to Wailea. We will definitely return
Great place! Great food! Fantastic sunsets! Highly recommend!
We really enjoy going to Spago. Consistently good service and food! Curry is my old time favorite and my husband had the lamb witch was FABULOUS! Great wine. Always a winner!
Dinner celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. The service (Andy was our waiter) was outstanding and the food was as well. Great table, great dinner and great service. The only downfall was the hostess. She was chewing on something when we arrived and covering her face as she finished chewing. I gave our name and she acted as if she was doing us a favor. She then proceeded to tell us our table was not ready and to grab a drink at the bar. As soon as we sat down at the bar she came over and told us our table was ready. The bartender hadn’t even had a chance to ask us about a drink. She would be better suited working at a Denny’s.
Absolutely fantastic. The service was phenomenal. The bus boy knew more about the food than I could ever hope to know. Super impressed.
Wagu medium rare was well done. Wasted $100 steak!
Pricey to be sure.....but was likely the best food of the visit to Maui. Highlight was the corn risotto. Beautiful setting. Service team very attentive with a lead plus team approach. Michael “Mick” - keep up the the exception engaging customer service. You’ve got “it”. Mahalo.
Awesome! Best restaurant on Maui by a huge margin!
Loved the food and view
David, our server was fantastic! He had a great insight on the menu and, because he was also a sommelier, he paired wine with the meal quite well. Overall, he was quite personable and connected with our 11 year old making us all feel welcome.
Was there for our Anniversary. It was perfect. Great table, fabulous food and Jeb and Amanda provided the best service.
Excellent food. Excellent wine. But of course the best part was the fantastic service !!
Fantastic food and service. Very expensive. But one of our favorite places on Maui.
Experienced and thoroughly enjoyed the tasting menu with wine pairings. We had an enthusiastic and excellent waiter who really made our experience great. The rest of the wait staff was fantastic. Finally the food was especially tasty and well presented.
Service and ambiance were pure "Aloha" gracious service & gorgeous surroundings.
The only reason for less than perfect score for those categories was the 70s-80s rock & roll soundtrack played throughout the restaurant. Doesn't really build on the Wailea/Four Seasons brand. "Give me three steps mister, three steps toward the door".
The menu categories were recently reorganized but a core group of favorites are still offered. Our main issue was with the food, the Bigeye Tuna Cones were poorly prepped, the fish was partially chopped but had stringy connective tissue holding the pieces together which made for sloppy eating. Kula corn risotto was lacking of any sweet corn flavor, very "watery" muted character. The Oven Roasted Eggplant was completely charred black, trying to peel the skin away led to a few strands of edible eggplant. The éclair on the dessert menu was tough & more chewy than any éclair I have had before. Not a great way to end a meal.
Overall an ok experience but I have dined here multiple times & had a great time. By comparison this visit was not good. Will probably skip this location on our next trip to Maui.
Beautiful space, amazing food! Some of the old time servers need to dial it down. They’re not the best.
But overall great meal.
Beautiful restaurant with great sunset views. Food is delicious though a bit overpriced.
The steamed opakapaka was fabulous in ti leaves! The tastiest preparation I've had!
The sommelier was very helpful and knowledgeable. The wines he suggested were great and paired well with our meal.
Beautiful setting and exquisite dining.
My wife and I went on a date there recently. The place is elegant and right near the ocean with great views. Wonderful and attentive service. The food, really our first time eating at such a famous, high-class & expensive restaurant, and a place of renowned chef Wolfgang Puck, was really exciting and delicious. The presentations of each dish was wonderful and beautiful. And delicious. The fusions of food and spices and sauces.... wow!!!! This was on my bucket list and it was a wish come true. We appreciate all the care and attention that the whole restaurant staff provides, the fresh foods and wonderful drinks.
Food has improved. Service friendly.
Best meal / dining experience on Maui during a week long vacation. Food was excellent, service was seven better. Our waiter, David, was incredibly passionate about the menu and his desire to make us happy. Great job Spago! We’ll be back next time for sure.
The dinner’s intention was twofold; A celebration of my wife’s birthday, and a reunion of sorts - our wedding, 15 years earlier, was hosted by The Four Seasons with our wedding dinner at Spago with Mr. Puck in attendance.
Our experience, with kids in tow, was more phenomenal than expected. For the kids, there was an extremely reasonable price fixe menu consisting of 3 courses. My son, usually not the best eater, finished everything, enjoying the house mango smoothie to boot. My daughter, easier to please, was more than satisfied by the offerings.
For my wife and I, the 3 appetizers that we shared were inspiring and delicious. The roasted eggplant with sesame and garlic aioli was incredible with intense depth of flavor. The omakase sushi platter was an exceptional and bountiful, with pure fresh flavors. The hard shell lobster sous vide appetizer was refreshing, indulgent and a masterful bouquet of flavor.
In terms of mains, my wife enjoyed the tagliatelle bolognese, with homemade rich flavors that would rival those emanating from any nonna’s kitchen. The lamb chops were a sensuous and savory dream - just what I had been craving for weeks.
DAVID, our charismatic, passionate lead waiter, had orchestrated a phenomenal experience throughout the meal. His knowledge of the cocktails, French press coffees, wine, and of course menu items, was unrivaled. At the same time, his love of the cuisine and his easy going, Brooklyn - accented good nature led us down our gustatory path for the evening. The surprise of his recommendation for dessert was an unexpected climax for the meal (whereas I thought the lamb couldn’t be topped). The Banana Foster Banana Bread was an orchestration of textures and flavors that closed the meal with a satisfaction that I would never have assumed to expect. And to add to the surprise, he presented my wife with an assortment of house baked cookies with a lovely birthday candle atop. David truly made the event a memory to savor!!!!!!!!
Excellent service, with a gorgeous view of the water and sunset and delicious, creative cuisine made out last meal of our Maui vacation very special! We loved that there were a few appetizer-sized entrees. My seafood curry was absolute perfection.
We have had great experiences at this Spago in the past and we’re looking forward to dinner. My first mistake was not requesting an outdoor table. We were in a room with very limited views and seemed like more of an event space than a dining room. Our waiter was nice but a couple items we ordered were wrong. Brought me pasta instead of fish? Food was great but didn’t enjoy our experience as much as in the past. I do appreciate the manager taking care of my meal.
Prices were redic... wouldn’t care if portions quality extra was up to par.. 44 dollars for chicken!! Had to ask for water refills... get it together Spago
We were only a little bit hungry and decided to do the always fantastic Ahi cones. And DESSERT! The chocolate doodle was divine, made even more so by excellent thick whipped cream and vanilla ice cream.
Service was great!
My husband and I dined at Spago's for our 20th wedding anniversary. While waiting for our table, we had a drink at the bar which was wonderful. When seated for dinner, our waiter was irritating. He made a few snide comments that took me aback. He made a comment about me not being very adventuresome in my choice of entrees. When clearing our plates after dinner, he told me "I couldn't have cleaned my plate any better". My husband told the waiter twice that he didn't want to order dessert. To that he said, "now who doesn't order dessert on their anniversary?" As an excuse, my husband mentioned I count carbohydrateswas & the waiter said, "I like a women who drinks whiskey & red wine & counts carbos". My husband was ready to put him in his place but knew I didn't want him to make a scene so nothing was said. We also gave him a 20% tip which he didn't deserve. We lived in Las Vegas for 10 years and frequented Wolfgang Puck establishments. We've also dined at Spago's in Wailea before but this will be our last. Instead of the evening being special, it was tainted.
We had a first-rate experience. Everyone from Angelina at the front desk, to Marco the busboy, to our waiter Peter was gracious, inviting, and prompt. They made my wife's birthday a special occasion. We definitely will return and look forward to doing so. Ask for the tomato soup (it is not always on the menu but they usually have it). The corn risotto and mahi mahi are excellent. There isn't a bad dessert but the chocolate soufflé and keiserschmarren are particular standouts. Reservations are highly recommended. For special dates like Valentine's Day you should make a reservation three months in advance.
While the service and atmosphere were both excellent, the food was largely overpriced and unflavorful. Wagyu Tenderloin was overcooked (ordered medium rare, got a medium or so), and Strip steak tasted quite bland.
Selection was pretty limited and very expensive. Food was good but portions were small. Service was excellent.
We have been in Maui for 2 weeks. We’ve been to some of the best restaurants in Maui and none of them comes even close! The food at Spago is top notch but what really makes the experience complete is the staff. Our server Jeb is warm, caring, and he really wants you to have the ultimate dining experience. He takes great pride in our satisfaction and we really appreciate him as much as we do the food.
Had the unfortunate experience of a my glass of wine being turned over into my lap by our server, but she was extremely apologetic and helpful. I had a napkin already in my lap which helped, and she offered me a very pretty wrap to wear for warmth (and I wanted to keep it, it was so lovely!) Our meal was beyond delicious; every bite.
Menu confusing. Why are appetizer portions on the menu with no obvious explanation that’s what it is. Waiter delivered wine, poured for 4 people and THEN declared it was the last one. Really. Deconstructed coconut tiramisu doesn’t work. Stick with the original method. Corn risotto, lamb, the bomb!
Our favourite restaurant in Wailea consistently. Fantastic food outstanding service.
Lynn is a fantastic server!! Recipes are delicious and the atmosphere is wonderful.
Very good service! Our waiter and staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was excellent! We will be back! Mahalo!
