   Great EXPERIENCE thanks to our waiter Tyler and support partner Melody. We went with their recommendations again (our second visit in the past three weeks) and it was fabulous. So fun to turn the ordering over to them and let them help us with our menu for the evening. The sashimi special was so good, super fresh tuna variety. But the star of the show was the whole sea bass. Amazing presentation and so, so delicious! Very easy to eat, no bones and delicious coating. If they have a whole fish as a special, we don’t even look at the menu. Another fabulous experience at Spago, thank you!

   Service was sub par. Had to ask for bread. No chef’s pre meal courtesy bites. No acknowledgment of our special occasion that was clearly known by the maitre d. Food was good. Table location and view was good.

   Only gave 4 stars for service due to hostess not seating us at 7:50 for an 8:00 p.m. reservation. She proceeded to seat 6 different parties until I finally asked at 8:20 why we were not seated yet. She forgot about us. The serving staff were not consistent- the waiter said he would be right back with bread. Waited for 15 mins, I asked whomever refilled my water for the bread & then we received two breads and waiter seemed upset. It was two small pieces of 2 different breads with black salted butter. It was very good. Be prepared to wait for service. I ordered the gnocchi as an appetizer & it was light & airy and the sauce delicious! It can be ordered as an entree for 1.5 times the amount of the appetizer price. Our entrees were the macadamia nut encrusted Mahi-Mahi with purple yam puree & a reduction garnished with the smallest carrot I’ve ever seen. The Mahi was a nice portion size prepared well but tasted similar to the other 4 Mahi-Mahi entrees we had ordered in the last week on the island. Waiter did present us with a surprise anniversary dessert that was appreciated. Definitely 5 stars for the exceptional ambiance. The beautiful & ornate balcony overlooks the pool area to the ocean.

   Our family was celebrating my wife’s birthday and the experience was amazing. The view of the ocean and watching the sunset was unbelievable. Our server was top notch and very knowledgeable about the foods and drinks on the menu.

   We stayed in Maui for 5 nights and this was our favorite meal without question. The Peter our server was phenomenal providing great guidance on the menu. He was knowledgable about the wine list and helped us pick the perfect pairing. The food was incredible. We’re still thinking about the curry 3 days later! And the ambiance was perfect. Would highly recommend Spago and definitely hope to come back if/when we visit Maui again!

    Underwhelming. Our appetizers and entrees were prepared correctly, however their flavor profile did not leave me with a desire to return for more. We ordered the Ahi Poke appetizer, Heirloom Tomato Salad, Lamb, and the Seared Tuna entree. -The Ahi appetizer was the best thing we had. It was a special occasion for us. They reached out and gave us the option to purchase a 2” diameter cake for $40- which we ordered. This was a mistake- the cake had virtually no flavor and there was undissolved granulated sugar in the frosting making it gritty. Our service was another let down. When asked if we wanted to place the full order and have him course it out, we did. This was a mistake. We received the appetizer and salad at the same time, but before the bread service. The server seemed as if he was rushing us and annoyed at times. The facility is nice and food preparation was correct (except the cake), hence the three stars. But service missed the mark and turned what could’ve been a good meal into a barely average meal.
