What a charming restaurant! So happy we found it! The food was delicious and a beautiful view!
Enjoyed the evening very much. Great wine selection. Our waitress, Jules was incredible. Took great care of us.
We love this restaurant! It’s one of our favorites. It’s beautiful inside and the view is pretty. Also the food and service is always awesome!
We sat down at 7:30 & our waiter stopped by once & we asked for a minute to look over the wine menu. He didn’t come back until 8:30. We were starving & ready to leave. The tables around us that arrived after us with a different waiter we’re all eating & had drinks. Staff was hustling all around us & saw us sitting for an hour with our menus & no drinks but no one bothered to stop & ask. He finally took our wine & food order. At 8:45 our 1st course came out & then the waiter returned to tell us the wine was sold out. We reordered & the waiter returned to tell us the beer my husband ordered was sold out. At about 9 the mediocre cabernet (the most expensive one on the menu by the glass) & beer arrived. Our soup (lobster bisque) & salad came out & were great. After that the food was poor. The fish was dry & fishy. 1 Scallop a/risotto was drowned in cheese, gnocchi was ok, lobster dish was bland. So disappointing. And no one came by to check on us not was anyone around to speak to when we left.
Our waiter Matt was very attentive to our needs and make special recommendations to make our anniversary dinner special. Thank you. We will be back.
The food was very average and very expensive for what is was. I froze because we were close to the door. We ordered drinks and had to send one of them back twice. Nice place but the food was not as good as we thought it would be.
Booked since Sep 2019 came here for our Annual Xmas eve dinner, only to be told to wait 30 additional minutes (unacceptable) nevertheless the Food was not the best, the decor was better. This restaurant was a real gem with great delicious food. Will not be visiting again. -sad Houstonian
Jade was fantastic!
This restaurant is inconsistent in its value. It has been a tradition for us to dine w/friends there on our anniversary. I know the owners, made the reservation mentioning them both by name & that it was once again our anniversary & we would be celebrating there. I requested something sparkly but non-alcoholic for a beverage and reminded them that I eat a vegan diet & hoped there would be a dessert I could have.
The restaurant made no note of our anniversary & even when I mentioned it to our server, he ignored it. He was also not aware that I eat vegan, but he did help me find dishes to eat. Server could not provide a sparkly beverage w/out alcohol, even though owners have provided delicious non-alcoholic cocktails on past anniversaries & other occasions.
While the food was delicious & the ambiance is also lovely (but extremely noisy), when we spend half a thousand bucks for our anniversary dinner there EVERY YEAR as well as dining there often and bringing friends and family, we expected our special occasion to be treated as a special occasion. It was not. We might have been any old strangers just looking for a meal and there was no need to treat us especially well or provide anything we had made sure to request IN WRITING when we made the reservation through OpenTable in advance, as we always do.
We had a meal, got the meal, and although I had mentioned it both in the reservation and in person, nothing was done that I specially requested and my mention of the occasion was completely ignored by the server.
If you want to celebrate a special occasion, choose someplace that wants to provide their customers with just that. Evidently, Willow Creek does not.
This also may be a small thing, but they now charge for bread! I’m in search of a new favorite restaurant because this is no longer mine.
Great time. ONLY complaint wash the cold rush anytime someone came thru the door.
Everything else was great
Our server and food was great!
Love this place!!!??
Very festive location; excellent food and service. A little hard to find in the dark.
Love. We go as often as we can. It’s ALWAYS good!
We eat at Willow Creek when brunch menu is served. Come frequently and is one of our favorite restaurants.
Great food and friendly service right next to the lake.
Great food. Beautiful view. Nice ambiance. We were delayed by weather and were still able to have our reservation saved.
Wife’s birthday. Food was very good. Loved the beet and goat cheese salad. However it was disappointing as it was my wife’s birthday and table was okay but they did not give us a nicer table by the indie that was next to window. Also table across from us got a birthday dessert that was mice. We got nothing though I told them it was her birthday. So it was disappointing on a special occasion. Not sure if we will go back though we live nearby. Felt bad for my wife.
Good selection of foods. Service was great. The view and inside was beautiful!
Overrated and Overpriced would be my assessment. Evergreen is so hard up for restaurants that Willow Creek survives. The Rigatoni was little better than out of a can--and squash risotta was without defined taste--although the scallops were nice and well done. Son had a steak which was fine. Dinner for 3 at $250--pretty pricey for what is available here.
I heard wonderful things about this restaurant and was looking forward to the experience. Going out for dinner is mainly about the food. Our food was not great. Two of us had the special and it was dry without a lot of favor. The butternut squash bisque was delicious as well as the bread. I ordered ice cream for dessert and it tasted like freezer burn with ice crystals on top. The wait staff was very good, the ambience was pleasant but I would not recommend this place to others.
Willow Creek is the best restaurant in the I-70 Foothills.
Very good food! A little over priced. Overall, an excellent experience and great view of the lake.
My wife and I dined at Willow Creek for our anniversary. The ambiance is great (on a lake--though it was already dark when we arrived) and food was very good as well. I had the trout, which was cooked perfectly, and my wife had the scallops. We also started with rabbit gnocchi (yummy) and a salad. Service was great--very attentive. The only flaw, which is why I gave the food 3 stars, was our bottle of wine (an expensive French white) came late and was not properly chilled. The server's explanation seemed to indicate that the wine was stored cool but not chilled. That's fine, but for the price, invest in a quick chiller!
Wonderful restaurant. Everything was off the charts good. I want to serve their brussel sprouts for thanksgiving. The atmosphere was wonderful. With restaurants being so loud now, this was a nice surprise.
Willow Creek staff provided exceptional service for a special birthday lunch. They accommodated a wish for a dish they normally serve at dinner for our luncheon. I cannot thank them enough for making our day such a special occasion. The restaurant was decorated in fall decor that made it feel absolutely cozy while looking onto the partially frozen Evergreen lake. Wonderful atmosphere and food! Loved my Gnocchi.
The food was excellent. Loved the locally sourced ingredients. My only suggestion would be when someone specifies a special occasion on their reservation to have the server acknowledge it in some way.
A wonderful place to take a friend for a birthday lunch -- lots of menu choices that were delicious and artfully prepared, plenty of free parking, great view of Evergreen Lake, and service that was attentive but not hovering.
Nice view. Good service and food. Rustic feel.
A little disappointed. This place used to be fantastic
Food was bland
Great food but small portions. Beautiful setting overlooking Evergreen Lake. I am a vegetarian and there was only one item on the menu that I could eat.
There was a wedding party the night we were there so it was very loud. Otherwise this place is a hidden gem!!!!!
Gave all five stars because I frequent here often and it is one of my favorite places to eat but felt the waiter could’ve been a little more friendly.
Delicious trout and salmon with great waiter and void!
I loved the atmosphere and the view but unfortunately I felt the food was overpriced and the service didn't meet expectations. There was only one steak option on the menu and I believe it was $46 which to me is extremely high. I ordered the pasta and it was $26 and it was very basic rigatoni with a small amount of sauce and sausage but didn't have much flavor. I believe the chicken was around $34 which also seemed high. The service was somewhat disappointing since we felt like we had to flag down the waitress multiple times to get water refilled, ask for salt & pepper, order bread and reorder drinks. I really wanted to love this place because of the atmosphere and the location but because of the value and the service I'm not sure if I'd return. I tried to research prices before booking the reservation but unfortunately the restaurant doesn't list prices on their website which I would think would be in their best interest so people know what to expect ahead of time.
Phenomenal! I had the trout and requested veggies instead of potatoes. Bravo chef for going the extra step to really make the dish spectacular!
Absolutely love this place! Heavenly lunch with jaw dropping views! We saw an elk walk by and over the foot bridge during our lunch!
Great view! Wonderful experience! Great staff! Bill go again soon.
