West Flanders Brewing
"Passion Well Served"
West Flanders has good beer and a nice variety of food to meet the needs of a diverse group of diners.
Nice casual place. We had the dinner for tow, which was a whole fried chicken, two beers, two salads and two sides. They were happy to make substitutions. Great beer list.
Great for just beers/appetizers or happy hour, won't be back for dinner as it is way overpriced and the food is an underwhelming disappointment.
The chicken pesto sandwich was miniscule and did not even cover the small bun. My daughter asked where is the chicken? Thank goodness she ordered the mac and cheese side ($6). Sides such as fries, etc. are a la carte for $4 so your basic bar food/sandwich is $16+. My husband did like the Reuben and it was sized appropriately. For a family of three, 3 entrees and 2 beers - $70 plus tip seems a bit extreme especially when it was not good.
We were disappointed by our visit as we came for beer and appetizers a few weeks ago and had a great experience. It was the reason we came back. We now know only beer and appetizers upon our return.
The initial greeting was stellar. The server did not live up to the initial greeting. She took our beer and food order while a table next to us was sat. The two beers took over 5 minutes to be served all the while she was chatting up a few women who were sitting at the rail of the bar. While we waited the table next to us who had only been greeted and provided water by the host got up and left.
Beers arrived! Both were quite tasty and I thoroughly enjoyed the New England style IPA. A food runner brought my husband's burger and fries and my beef stew. Both were served hot and the burger was cooked to the requested temp.
My husband's beer drew empty and the server was back at the bar this time complaining to the women at the bar about the table that left. When we were 2/3rds completed with our meal she came by to ask "how are we enjoying everything", we said everything was fine to which she wisked away.
We asked for the bill and were shocked to find that the fries on the burger plate were an addition $4 bringing the total for the burger and fries in at $17! While the burger was tasty this was ridiculously priced.
The wait staff should be provided the training the hosts have as the expectation upon arrival is not met by the lackluster service upon being sat.
Starting with the positives, good beer and tasty food!
Among other things, the service was very slow. I was there with my wife and a couple of friends and we we're planning to see a show nearby at 8pm. I scheduled a reservation at 6:45 and we ended up arriving at 6:35 and was able to be seated early. That being said, the slow service coupled with a number of mistakes with our food, we ended up being a little late to the show. My wife and one of our friends ordered burgers and when they first came out they were missing some key toppings and sauces. No big deal, we asked and they were brought out shortly. My friend ordered her burger medium-well and after cutting into it, it was a bloody rare. She couldn't even eat it, but by the time the server came back there wasn't enough time to right the order and she ended up nibbling on some fries.
Things happen, and I'm sure this is not indicative of a typical visit, but I will not be returning.
Great Beer, Belgium style brews, food is ok but not the main draw to this place.
Good value for money but one of our beer selections was completely flat. Management swapped it for another beer and apologized, so we were happy overall.
Really good food and beer. Not too expensive and right off pearl.
We were there on a busy parents weekend. Overall we enjoyed our time. Drink service was good and food was decent bar food. We even had a drink accidentally do cartwheels off the tray onto our table and a few of us. The waiter was so sweet and humble we couldn’t fault the place.
This place is god for Burgers and beer. Low key dining! The staff was very nice and the food was good! Beer was good too. Try the pigs in a blanket appetizer!
I made reservations in advance with open table with no problems. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food arrived no too fast or late and was good. We were there over Parents Weekend so it was very crowded but didn’t feel like it. We were seated upstairs and ended up having a view of the Stampede, which was perfect.
They were very accommodating with regards to trying to seat us in a quiet area, and the service was good, but the food was not very good. The Reuben was burned and the meat was so salty it bordered on inedible. (We we’re surprised that it was served given how burned it was). The fish and chips had too much coating.
Just a great comfortable place with good food and very nice staff.
Nice brewery but nothing stands out as special. The Burgers were great. The pot pie was "fine" and the veggie burger was prettty good but it was offered on a lettuce wrap that was really a bunch of shredded lettuce on top, which made it very hard to eat.
Great cocktails and excellent service. We really enjoyed the burgers!
West Flanders is a family fave, good food, good beverages, and all around good place to be.
Such a cool environment. Really awesome beer selection! The food was incredible too. A must visit!
Okay - Boulder - college town, I get it. But when I've been seated for 20 minutes and no one says "we'll be with you in moment" or "thanks for waiting, will be right with you", you walk out. If no stars could be given, they would. The worst non-dining experience in memory.
We used opentable to get us a spot at this brewery. Sitting outside on the Pearl Street Marker was wonderful. Our server was friendly and gave great recommendations. Our food came out quickly and was delicious as were our drinks. I would highly recommend this brewery to any of my friends for dinner and drinks.
Table reserve for 7 and we we were placed at a table for 6 with a chair at the end and it was very very tight but a table for 8 opened up and we were quickly moved to the larger space. Beer was awesome and everyone really enjoyed their food. We were there are the last supper before the Ironman and there was a special meal named for the Ironman which was especially thoughtful.
We were pleasantly surprised to discover their beer was gluten friendly.
The chicken pot pie was fabulous!!
The food is always delicious and so are the drinks.
Liked it so much the first night we were in Boulder I went back again the second.
Beer was great, food was also yummy.
I recommend the high top tables in the back bar area.
It was a very nice night out. The food was great, beer was great, and service was helpful and welcoming.
Fries were awesome. The rueben a little dry. The pork Mac and cheese was yummy. The beer was great!
Great food, great service, great beer, great ambiance. What more could you ask for?
I'm going to be honest: the food here was not good. We ordered the pretzel bites, which were not like pretzels at ALL. They were more like wheat nuggets. The veggie burger was okay but mainly because of the topping - the burger itself was tasteless. The mediterranean salad was also only alright but would have been much better with a dressing like balsamic. Lastly the veggie burger came with tomato bisque and it was disgusting. I would only go here for beer.
We stopped in for dinner after a long day hiking. Great atmosphere with locals playing music. Great service and awesome beer! Highly recommend checking out if your in the Pearl St vicinity.
We went for a family get together and they accommodated for a large group of people perfectly! We sat right next to the patio with the doors open and it was beautiful. Our server was amazing as well. The beer is obviously great and so was the food!
The service was great, the people watching was fun. I ordered the fish and chips. There was a ton of batter, which was burned, and very little, low quality fish inside.
The food was good the waiter was attentive. Right on the Pearl Street mall. Nice place
Food was great, service was friendly but a little slow.
This is a fun place right in the heart of the Pearl Street action. We were in the front section right behind the patio, which is a great spot. The waitress was lovely and efficient. It's a fun, happy place to be.
The food was very good and so was the service. However, we made a reservation here because it looked to have an awesome Father's Day brunch menu. We were very disappointed to find that they stopped serving brunch many months ago. The manager came and apologized to us and offered to buy us a round of drinks. He said they have been battling Open Table for months to remove the brunch section from it's online menu, and for some reason they refuse to do so. Hey Open Table, why don't you go ahead and remove brunch from their offerings so as not to mislead your users? If you're looking for great craft beer and food, this place is great, but don't come here hoping for brunch.
Food was great! Would definetly eat there again when I'm in Boulder next.0
The whole family loved the menu choices and food!
Outstanding service! Great beer and good food. Wonderful location!
I was anxious to try this restaurant for Mother's Day what a flop. Waited 35 minutes for appetizers and then waited another 30 minutes for dinner. I had the Mac & Cheese with chicken. They forgot to add the chicken they took it back and when they brought it back out to me the chicken was cold & slapped on top of the MAC & Cheese disgusting . Never coming back!!
The people running this place are the best--Dealing with them over the phone and in person was a pleasure, and the servers provided for our rather large party with friendliness and flexibility. We truly enjoyed this venue for a farewell-after-graduation Saturday lunch, and appreciated the staff and servers' desire to please. Our sandwiches and salads and other entrees all contained fresh and interesting ingredients, and were prepared and presented competently but unpretentiously. If you dine here, make sure someone in your party orders at least one of the many permutations of macaroni and cheese. We had the pulled pork mac and cheese, and it was DIVINE!
