Always a great experience. Salmon and vegetable lasagna excellent.
Eric our server, always a delight
We continue to introduce friends to this wonderfully quiet and amazing ambiance of a restaurant. This is one of the few remaining places where the value remains at a reasonable price for very good food.
The wait staff is experienced and very careful with dietary needs. Eric is very careful with gluten free preparations. Our selections of the trout, salmon and pork dishes were perfect with great flavor and nice side dishes. We love the calamari appetizer and it's gluten free!
It is worth the drive from anywhere in the city.
Great place ! Incredible eats!!!
A new fav!
The food was delicious! Mussels app, Salmon, and Rigatoni entrees!
it was a bit busy on a Friday night, of course, and while our server was busy, she was less than attentive to us. We had to grab her attention twice, which was a little annoying, but it was date night and we enjoyed our food and time together!
Always a great experience
We’ve enjoyed a few dinners at 29th, but this time was just okay. Beet ravioli and carrot fritter to start were great! But our steak and duck entrees were just average. Service was extremely slow, however, we noticed the restaurant was busier than previous occasions. We were celebrating a birthday and our guest was not offered dessert, sadly.
I’m sure we’ll return and I’ll order my usual ratatouille lasagna!
We enjoyed a quiet Sunday evening dinner here on Easter. We had difficulty choosing from several appealing options on the menu, and all at our table were pleased with their entrees. Especially notable were the Flat Iron Steak and Gorgonzola Stroganoff. We also enjoyed the Carrot Fritter and Calamari apps. Service was great, and would describe the ambiance as cozy and comfortable. A neighborhood gem, for sure!
Food and waitstaff were great. Looking forward to trying dinner
We love this place and everyone we have taken there says they love it too!
The restaurant was very accommodating about our seating arrangements. I was with a friend who is older with hearing aids and we had to move to another table because of her sensitivity to sound. A pleasant room, voices do carry, and we were next to a group of five who were having a lively conversation. Otherwise, we loved the atmosphere and cannot wait for the warmer weather for a patio adventure. We also liked the menu choices. Because I am watching my weight, I limited myself to a salad choice which was "okay" but not my favorite way to check out a restaurant for the first time. My friend ordered two pancakes and knows in the future to order one pancake since each was very large. I will return with my husband because as a salmon fan, the menu offers some interesting salmon choices.
I love going to West 29th. I've been here on several occasions now. This is only my third time going for brunch. I'm never disappointed. The food is always delicious and the service is top-notch. My mind was set on the huevos rancheros so I didn't hear the crepes special of the day. My teenager ordered them. They were lemon-flavored. However, when they arrived, she said she thought they were supposed to have strawberries. Again, I didn't pay attention to the waitress (and admittedly she was a little hard to hear). It wasn't until I got home that I read the Facebook page for W. 29th and the special was lemon crepes with fresh strawberries! Oh no! I told my daughter to please speak up next time if she knows with 100% certainty what she heard. I'm disappointed I didn't push the issue harder with her. I was too busy devouring my delicious meal. Next time I'll pay closer attention. I'm sure it was just an oversight in the kitchen. They were busy after all. I'm just frustrated I paid for something that wasn't a complete meal. My son's croque madame was delicious, too! Yes, we always have try each other's dishes. Overall, it was a great experience. I definitely recommend this place for brunch.
Perfect for first date night! Great food and ambiance (we sat by the fireplace). I loved that my date and I could actually talk and hear each other —we didn’t have to yell.
Waitress was prompt and very nice. Food was great and even with a screw on top the wine was great.
You need to have small things customers appreciate like non dairy options for coffee - almond milk ,etc and then some other sweetener other then pick and blue “cancer” packets
Eggs over cooked and when I said something to server she said sorry and turned around and walked away.
Birthday Celebration, great food, good value, friendly waitstaff
A very good find! This is close to our home and I’m so grateful for that! Very good food, service is good and ambiance is very relaxing and cozy!
Good food, good bar drinks, good service! Busy for dinner even on a very snowy Thursday evening.
Always good food and good service. We like the atmosphere. Cozy and warm. A neighborhood gem
The food was delicious, as always. We chose West 29th because we knew it w
We love the menu & specialty drinks. Nice to have a restaruart like this in the area. We like it a lot!
Our favorite spot for date night. Never had less than fantastic food here, and they change the menu every few months. Staff and owner are attentive, friendly, and always make us feel welcome.
Incredible food and service. Flourless Chocolate Torte w/ raspberry sauce was amazing! I recommend this to everyone I know who desires a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere, excellent dining, and 'neighborhood' experience. Thanks, W29R.
Excellent food and presentation of meals. Both myself and date love this place for its good food and value. I had the skirt steak that had a sauce that was light and flavorful. Serve with a light fluffy potato and veggies of string beans and carrots.
Just a great place for a fun romantic evening. Service was superb and cocktails we're so fine. Will definitely go back.
I will definitely try it again. Decent happy hour specials. Unique menu. Great atmosphere. I couldn't rave about the food but couldn't complain either.
The food was all quite tasty. Loved the atmosphere of feeling like you're in an old home. My only complaint is the bus person was a little anxious in taking your dishes away before you finished eating. If you set your fork down, she was there.
The meals at West 29th are consistently great-flavorful, proportional and reasonable. The service is excellent. It’s a neighborhood gem-if only I lived closer.
Great service and food! A special find! I would highly recommend it.
good mid priced go to spot. The food selection on the menu provides good varied choices. The wines have been excellent, last time a California Pinot Noir, and then last night a Rioja, both were absolutely delicious.
This was the second time we went. The first time the place was for dinner and the place was very busy; the food was OK, but not great. However, because it is a local place, we wanted to try it again. This time it was a 65th birthday celebration brunch. On the reservation we had noted that it was this occasion and asked to have them sing happy birthday and/or recognize the birthday guest. This was not done. The food was less than average. Two people had the hash which was extremely dry and salty. Two people had the special french toast/ham/egg and gravy dish which was also salty and the french toast was burned. It was a huge disappointment. Really cute place, great location for us to meet our adult kids, but the food just isn't up to expectations. Will not be going back.
We greatly enjoyed dining at West 29th. Busy place! We made a dinner reservation and started at the bar. Food was delicious and service superb. Worth the wait!
This is a neighborhood gym. It’s surprising how many people don’t know about it.
This restaurant continues to be one of our most favorite dining establishment. It is worth a 20 minute drive from Westminster. The service is exceptional and friendly. The food is wonderful.
We went with friends on 1/2 price off wine Wednesday. Great food. Had the pork loin and it was super tender and sauce was very tasty.
Dinner was great! Food was amazing and the wine list was good. Will definitely be back.
Went for date night and ordered the Mussels to start which were great! We both ordered the Gorgonzola Stroganoff (I have been craving it for years since I had tried it last). Was disappointed that the beef was over cooked and chewy. Overall, great ambiance and service was good. Will try again for redemption on the beef.
We came out to celebrate my son's birthday. He loves the NY Strip here. When we get there, the menu had changed. Although I checked the menu online earlier, our dinner was doomed! No chance in returning here for any reason. I can see why the place was practically empty.
The food and service was very good. It was nice and quiet.
This is a neighborhood gem! Great atmosphere, easy to talk, pace of service was perfect and a fabulous variety of unique offerings.
