Vita - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
I have been going to Vita over the past few years and I feel like they are just stuck in their ways. The menu used to be fun to go through because there were so many options but it is just boring now. The service was ok at best with our waiter flying by our table to introduce himself and going to grab our waters. He didn't even bother to tuck in his shirt before coming to work. The rooftop is the only bright spot for Vita at this point. There are too many other restaurants in Denver to go to before settling for Vita.
The service was not good. We had 4 people take our drink orders but did not come back to check on us. One person would take our order, another would check on us, a third would bring our drinks, then a fourth person would check on us again. We didn't know who was actually serving us as once each one came by they did not come back. Our food took forever, and came out incorrectly so had to be sent back to the kitchen. I was excited to try Vita as I had heard good things but was quite disappointed. Would not recommend to friends.
Great service and phenomenal food! We got the tiger shrimp and brie to start-- both incredible. The brie was to die for.
For an entree, I enjoyed the arugala mahi salad (blackened) and my boyfriend got the salmon BLT (blackened). Both were great and portion sizes were very generous.
I specifically asked that entrees not come out before we were done with appetizers, and the waitress ensued it would be fine. The entrees came out about 10 minutes after the appetizers, and the waitress seemed to have forgotten my request, oblivious to the fact that we were still eating the appetizers. The food was hit or miss. Some of the entrees are great, some were power seasoned. The noise level was so loud, our party of 7 had to lean in to hear one another.
The restaurant was recommended to me for it's skyline view and happening atmosphere. Though it was raining that evening, I can't imagine there being a city view as there is a taller apartment building directly south of the location. It was raining that evening so there wasn't a way to confirm this.
The evening was a 95th birthday celebration for my mom. The staff was extremely attentive and made dessert very special, nonetheless the place was empty with none of the city-view experiences as promised. We were virtually alone on the ground floor and freezing. Overall, the food was very good and saved the day. Doubtful I'd recommend the location for a special dining event to others.
We made reservations for a group of 12 a few weeks out. Upon arrival, we were told to seat ourselves upstairs (which we had to put a few tables together to do so). We got our orders in pretty quickly, but as it seemed that there were only 3 people on staff (chef, host, waitress), it took over 80 minutes to get our food. In that initial order we ordered appetizers as well - which arrived after we received the main courses.
I've been to Vita a handful of times and never found it very special and was very disappointed by our last experience and likely won't be back.
We had a passport and they had a reservation at 7pm on Saturday. That should have been the first red flag. Dining room 100% empty when we got there. Server ordered me the wrong item, so food was slow. Waters kept full but that was about as good as the service ever got. Food was not good.
I remembered this restaurant being fantastic, many years back. Unfortunately everything has changed, and we were all very disappointed with the mediocre food and the incredibly slow service. The cocktails were the only saving grace, but took nearly half an hour to receive at one point.
Food and drinks tasted great, server was great but the food took so long the manager actually came over to apologize, meanwhile it wasn't that busy and they did nothing to compensate. We had a party of 6 and were there from 645 until almost 9 before we were served our main course.
Service was VERY slow, it took us almost 20 minutes to just get drinks and the full dining experience took almost 2 hours (on a Tuesday night when it wasn't very crowded at all)... maybe they were short staffed?
The food was not nearly as good as expected, not awful, but nothing special. When our main courses finally came out, my plate was burning hot, but the food was lukewarm, so I assume it had been sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time. There was nothing bad about it, but there was also nothing about it that stood out.
Overall, the experience was blah... it wasn't good or bad. I don't think I will come back, nor would I recommend it to a friend. Disappointed.
We have been to Vita several times and find the food excellent and the atmosphere lively, but not too loud.
Unfortunately, when 6 of us dined there during Restaurant Week, the staff seemed overwhelmed, the service was very slow, some of the food like burgers were not cooked as ordered, and items were not always served in a timely manner. For instance, they brought one appetizer and the rest 20 minutes later; the French fries arrived long before the burger. The lamb dish, pork shank, brie and other appetizers were delicious and very well prepared. I think they may have been understaffed for such a full house. I would go back again, but not during a very busy period.
We went to Vita to celebrate my and my sister's Birthdays. Got a drink at the bar first, were the bartender made yummy martinis. Good drinks, he was a little obnoxious. The bar area is cool and vibrant. When we went into the dining room, we were seated at a cramped table between a pole and a half-wall. There are cool room divider things all over, but they weren't up so the room was open and very loud. There are only tables and chairs in the main dining room, which are packed in, so the overall atmosphere there is more of a dining hall than a nice restaurant. The waiter we had was Maxwell and he was lovely. The food was yummy, in particular the appetizers and the braised lamb. The desserts are terrible. We ordered two and had to send one back because the cake in it literally tasted old. It crumbled to pieces when you put a fork in it and was inedible. The other was the special, and came with Little Man salted oreo ice cream, which was delicious. The cake that came with it was ok. I would never order dessert here again and instead just head to Little Man. Maxwell did tell us about the happy hour, which I would come back for for the yummy drinks and great deal on the awesome appetizers. I will come back for that, but probably not to dine again.
Excellent service, eclectic and arty décor and lighting, excellent cocktails, and appetizers even a non-app lover can get behind. And loads of happy hour specials mean it's on the cheap. Go there now, get a euro martini and grilled pineapple right side up cake, and be happy.
We had not been to Vita, and found out about it through a Living Social deal, which was great. The food was good, Josh, our waiter, has a good personality, nice wine selection. At the end, the portions of the mains and the salad were a bit less than we'd expect with the price point, but tasty. We ordered the 5oz Filet, and it was served sliced on the side mashed potatoes, not usually how you expect a filet to be served. We feel the Living Social deal was great, but if we had to pay full price for the evening, we'd probably try another new restaurant to us.
