We’ve brunched several times at Vin Rouge. Never disappointed. Always a delightful experience.
I’ve eaten at vin rouge several times over. Food is pretty good most of the time. But it’s also very loud in there. Tables very close. You can hear other conversations and not your own. That’s my only complaint but it’s a big complaint. It prevents me from going there from now on.
The food is always good. The restaurant is small so it can get crowded - make sure you reserve your table.
Great french bistro food. Very authentic. Everything I had was outstanding.
Fantastic evening. Possibly the best server we have ever had. (Not just at this restaurant — anywhere). An undervalued star in Durham’s good — but overhyped — food constellation.
The Diver Scallops were spectacular. Great service and exceptional food!
The food was so delicious. The service was professional and informative. We had vegetarians in our group and they were able to give good suggestions.
The duck salad was the best duck I’ve ever eaten.
Would definitely rerun next time I am in Durham.
Excellent service and food. Great ambiance
One of my top places to go in town!
We had a wonderful time at Vin Rouge! The service both at the bar and tableside were fantastic! The complementary escargot were right up there with those I tasted in Paris, and the rest of the dishes followed suit. Can't wait to experience all this again, thank you so much!
Some aspects of the meal were very good - the baked littleneck clams were a delicious highlight. Unfortunately, the NY strip steak was served undercooked and lukewarm, while the tuna in the nicoise had a mysterious grey tone. The food was quite disappointing, despite a very warm and pleasant atmosphere.
Great service, food and signature cocktails.
Lovely staff. Great food. Noisy inside, but no way around that. Worth it.
Best Sunday Brunch location.
We went there for V-day so the service was a little slow. But the food and ambience were great!
We love Vin Rouge. We come to Durham once each year for a Duke basketball game at Cameron, and we eat at Vin Rouge every time. The food is always outstanding, and we really like the cozy surroundings. The servers are also know the menu very well and can answer all questions about different items on the menu.
Vin Rouge never disappoints! Delicious food, excellent service, and a wonderful experience! Already looking forward to our next meal there!
Made me feel very welcome for my birthday! Even completed request for flowers on the table
Vin Rouge never disappoints. It had been a while since my last visit, and the food was just as good as I remember. The service was maybe a tad slow, but it was a very busy Valentine's evening, so probably to be expected. However, the wait staff was very attentive and friendly. My only real complaint is that the dining room is very dark at night. Dim lighting is fine for ambiance, but this was almost like eating in the dark. The food and drink was still delicious, however, and one does feel transported to a French bistro. An overall great experience.
Everything was excellent, and we plan to return in the future!
All the food was delicious except the chateau briande was a little grisly and fatty.
Food at Vin Rouge has always been excellent and was again on Valentine's Day. Service was also very good but the staff was understandably busy. We always enjoy an evening here and look forward to next time.
Wonderful dinner. We had a great time.
We went for Valentines Day dinner. They had a shortened menu. But everything was delicious and service was great.
Excellent as usual
We love vin rouge. But we were a little disappointed in the heavy sauce on the calves liver. Usually we love it but it was too heavy n but overpowering compared to you prior sauce. But still had a nice dinner. Thank yiu
We made a reservation so that we could have a nice dinner before going to the DPAC. Vin Rouge did not disappoint! We had a delicious meal, excellent service and were out in plenty of time for the 7:30 pm.m show. Thank you!! We look forward to coming back. :)
Took hours to get our mussels. Wait vanished. When we finally flagged her down she said a big party backed up the kitchen. No excuse.
The food, service, ambience, and value were all superb.
Great dinner before attending show at DPAC! Onion soup is awesome!
Wonderful bistro. The food and service was fabulous. We came here when we were looking at Duke for my son. Now he’s a senior and we still love this coming here. The food is delicious. There is nothing they need to do to improve it.
You just can’t go wrong here!
Had the classic mussels and the beet salad. They were both delicious.
Excellent authentic french cuisine. Not light on calories but delicious
Celebrating birth of first grandchild!
they gave our French 75’s to another table so our wait for drinks was really long-waitress quickly blamed someone else. 🤭 felt like it took longer than usual, not sure maybe new staff? Our brunch was very good
Weekly Sunday brunch Had older son and his family visiting
We ordered 2 NY strip steak frites. The fries were cold. The steak was extremely fatty. Not a good meal and not a good value. Would not recommend.
Great food and ambiance. Fantastic waitress with great recommendations.
