The food was fresh and delicious and Sandy, who attended us, gave us the perfect introductions to the dishes we ordered, giving us excellent recommendations. She made an already excellent eating experience, very special indeed.

Food is always good here, never been disappointed. Service was a bit slow, but then gave us more chance for a chat. Did not feel rushed as you can be in other restaurants.

Friday lunchtime, almost empty- 1 staff member only and almost no service. Food excellent but no Diet drinks and no intention of finding any from the store next door. Lucky nobody else appeared or we would still be there.

The food in Viet Hoa was excellent and only bettered by the service. Our starters of spring rolls and salt and chilli calamari were far, far above the usual fare and plentiful. By comparison, the flavours of our main courses of wok tossed chicken and bean sprout noodles were merely very good(!) but the portions were a little bit small. We obviously did not make adventurous choices, but were guided by our waiter with his remit to avoid too much sweetness. He did very well and had an excellent way of going about his job so as to enhance our meal. I would definitely go again, mainly to try the Bun Hue that I was not in the mood for, but is allegedly the best in London.

Still good after all these years! I first came here in the 90's when this Vietnamese gem was the first in this part of Shoreditch. It was genuinely a cafe then and unpretentious. The food is just as good, it is still family led too. The decor is a little on the dark side, and the middle 'canteen table' seems to take up more space than it would if there were more individual tables. Call me old fashioned... great spicy steaming bowls of pho and my absolute favourite here is still the Bun Thit Nuong.
