Wonderful calamari...outstanding breaded veal chop......excellent food....
We love dining at Vergina. Food and service is consistently great!
They should not advertise restaurant week menu, and confirm it on the phone, then when we arrived they said the were not doing that menu. This is false advertisement. The food was very disappointing could have had the same food at a fast food restaurant.
We had dinner on a very busy night. The wait staff was hurrying throughout the evening. The music was very loud considering the already noisy crowd. We had an excellent waiter, Malcolm, who accommodated is quite well. I was even surprised with a birthday cake and sparklers. Will try it again on a quieter night.
Pasta dishes were lacking. Lobster ravioli had little evidence of actual lobster. Lasagna was dry. Salmon was excellent as was the salad.
Not a single negative thing to say.Server James, was knowledgeable, attentive, pleasant, and the food was delicious.Servings were plentiful, and pleasing to the eye, and very reasonably priced. We were a party of 6 and our guest praised the restaurant choice and thanked us several times for bringing them there..... not my first time here and definitely many more to come
Entertainment was fabulous. Attentive service.
This had been our favorite pre show restaurant for the last three years until our most recent experience. We went for the happy hour dinner menu which the web site states last until 6 PM. Our reservation was honored and we wear seated by 5:20 PM. We asked our waiter for the happy hour menu and he stated it ended at 5:30 so I pointed out that is was before 5:30 and he then asked if I wanted to see the manager and walked away. No manager appeared but the waiter return at 5:34 and then asked if we where now ready to order. I was ready to leave but my wife told me not to leave. The food was OK but the entire experience left a bad taste. Web site still list Happy Meal until 6 PM.
Restaurant Week menu - so worth it! 3 courses, $36... salad or meatball apps, we had chicken parm and the pear stuffed pasta in a cream sauce and 2 huge cannolis for dessert or tiramisu! Lovely sitting outside. Be sure to ask for the Restaurant Week menu!
Great food as usual. Half price menu is fantastic. Our waiter was super friendly and accommodating. We will be back.
The food and atmosphere were great. It was a lovely way to spend an evening with friends.
Worst restaurant experience I can remember having in our almost 5 years in Naples. And unfortunately, I had selected this restaurant based on a past meal and had recommended it to my fellow diners (2 of whom had spent their careers in the hospitality industry). We had a 5:30 reservation, selected because the website announced that happy hour ended at 6. We were seated inside where the acoustics are a problem and although the inside dining area was almost empty, we were seated right behind a large party and had trouble hearing each other. I asked the waitress about specials and she disappeared and reappeared with a computer and showed us some items...because of the noise it was hard to hear her, but more importantly she did not indicate the price of the specials...I asked about the happy hour menu and she said that ended at 5. Then I asked about restaurant week specials (there was a large sign near the front door). The waitress disappeared again and returned with restaurant week menus. One couple ordered red wine by brand name and were brought house wine - which was not rectified when the couple asked about what they had been brought. One of the diners ordered wedge salad with shrimp as an entree...when it was brought after all of the other entrees, it was tiny, had no shrimp and was not a wedge. When we asked, the salad was taken away and brought back in about ten minutes. The chicken parm on the other hand, was huge and average at best. After seeing the size of the chicken we were surprised that the lasagna was very small. The pause before dessert (cannoli and tiramisu) was forever and when it did arrive we asked for "to go" boxes and our checks...which again we waited for. At the end we felt like we had spent more than two hours in hell. On the way out there was a large sign advertising a steak special for the evening...no mention of that special at all.
I decided to bring my mother here for you 50th birthday and the staff surpassed my expectations. Augusto personally decorated our table with the items I had brought earlier in the day. And Mauro, our table server, was absolutely delightful. He made sure my mother had a stupendous time and that her birthday was memorable. The food was absolutely delicious and in good portions. The cotton candy birthday treat they made was one for the books! I would 110% recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone! I hope future customers are able to make memories there like we as a family did.
Service was just ok. Server didn’t come around a lot and our dinner came out while we were eating our appetizer.
It was a big disappointment, the salad we ordered was wilted and looked old, the presentation of the food left a lot to be desired. It was not worth the price we paid for the meal.
Enjoyed our meal and the wait staff did an excellent job. Will return.
Food not very warm, I felt our waitress was very nice but just not very professional for a classy restaurant
This was my go to place every time I went to Naples - 5-6 times a year. This past visit the place had changed. The menu was different. I ordered Spaghetti and Meatballs. A classic that is hard to screw up.
but the meatballs were dry and the pasta was not al dente it was undercooked. The sauce was over reduced and it tasted like pure tomato paste. My mother ordered the wedge salad which was fine and the shrimp scampi appetizer. There was no garlic or seasoning. It was beyond bland. Our waitress was nice but the upsell to garlic bread could have been different. She said the normal bread was too cold to send to the table. There are quiet a few Italian restaurants in downtown Naples and I think it is time for me to explore a new one. This meal was just a waste of money for something that was inedible.
I have enjoyed lunch at the restaurant on several occasions and tried it for dinner and was disappointed with the service/timing. Our bread did not come until the third request and our entrees were brought to the table while we were still eating our appetizers. Communication between server, kitchen and food runner could be better.
Over the years, this establishment has proven to be an excelllent choice for family gatherings or drinks with friends at the lively bar.
Cusine, different price points, won’t disappoint. Shorts ok for grandfather, but keep in mind, 5th Ave still draws the well dressed beautiful people.
We dined at Vergina on the Friday evening after Thanksgiving. The food was quite good and the service was reasonable. However, they had 2 loud competing music sources playing simultaneously: A live, energetic musician with full backing tracks and their overhead music system. The live performer was singing and playing guitar to classic rock hits while the overhead music source was playing reasonably loud Italian music. It totally defeated our expectation of enjoying a cheerful dinner with good conversation. We could not hear each other.
Great food and service plus really enjoyable music.
Went for Thanksgiving Dinner. Disappointed in my meal. Newly renovated and lovely, but turkey was not the chefs best. Turkey was tough. Dark meat all rolled together and sliced?!? Sides were nice. Cost was $25. Very disappointed! I will try again because I’ve always liked Vergina. Good thing turkey isn’t on regular menu.
We went for a thanksgiving dinner, turkey dinner ok , other choices good.
Wine expensive .
Food and atmosphere were great. Half price menu is extensive and includes some decent wines. I think our server was new. He seemed a little overwhelmed, but we noticed that the manager helped him out. Would definitely recommend and will return.
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner last year inside the restaurant. On Nov. 18, 2018 we had reservations for dinner for my birthday which had been noted when we made our reservation. We were seated as requested on the outside patio. We ordered an appetizer and our entres and received our appetizer with our entres! The outside tables are very small so they wouldn't all fit on the table! My husband moved the appetizer to our bread plates and had the waitress remove the appetizer plate so we could eat our meals as the plates were not fully on the table. No mention or apology was made. My husband asked for grated cheese and chili peppers for his pasta and it wasn't until he was half finished the waitress came and realized he didn't get either. My husband is Italian and was very disappointed with the meatballs and the whole meal. My pork chop was OK as were the vegetables. No acknowledgement of my birthday! Needless to say, we won't be back anytime soon.
We were saddened that you didn’t offer a non-alcoholic Beer. We had asked for Beck’s beer.
We were pleasantly surprised that there was half price menu & drinks prior to 6pm, our preshow meal. Outside seating was great with sights & sounds of 5th Avenue.
Our new go to restaurant with friends and family! Love it!
We loved this place! Had a great meal and no one seemed to mind that we had our three kids with us.
Half price menu before 6 is an outstanding value and patio offers perfect people watching
The waiter got very confused about the ordering. Caesar salad/seafood salad. The salad itself was small and sad. Four little croutons.
All the meals did not come out at the same time. Was also very noisy inside with music near the bar. Would not go back to eat inside.
Friendly, very accommodating! Waiter was very good, professional. Food is excellent no complaints!
Waitstaff, Robbie and Marina, were fabulous, attentive and friendly.
Food was delicious and service was fantastic!
We’ll recommend in the future!
We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience at Vergina. From the moment we arrived, we felt a personal touch from reception. We had a great table outside and extraordinary service. The drinks, appetizers and dinner were all very high quality. I strongly and highly recommend Vergina
We were there for brunch with out of town friends. Waitress was over worked and underloved. We could not hear her. She would not sub fruit for potatoes. Water went un refilled, check was requested twice. Argh, such a shame as we have always heard good things.
Nice ambiance! Okay food great Happy Hour! Meal was pricey for okay food.
I requested an outside table and none was available. It was very busy due to it being Halloween, so I understand the seating. I ordered a bottle of California Chardonnay and the waiter asked if he could talk me into a better wine. I found that very rude. If the wine was so inferior they shouldn’t offer it on the menu. We were a party of 6. My salmon was a little rare after I asked for it to be well done. My friend ordered the 4 cheese stuffed pasta. The portion was so small it looked like an appetizer. We called attention to it and the manager brought out more to add to her meal. Everyone else said the meal was fine.
