Chef Cole’s menu offerings include daily specials, hot and cool tastings, makimono, yakimono, tempura and, of course, sushi and sashimi.

Our service was questionable but clearly the table next to us, with a different server, had a great time.
Wonderful as always. Best dinning experience in Houston.
Amazing food. And service was wonderful!
Awesome across the board. Menu is intimidating but our server helped and we had a great meal.
It was lovely though in the past we got a special app or something small for celebrating our anni. Nothing this time but still was fab.
We chose to let the chef create our dining experience. We enjoyed all the different entrees brought out.
It was much easier to let the chef make our dining choices and we were happy with all the choices.
Dessert was equally impressive!
The food was great! We enjoyed the sushi very much! However, we were disappointed the hostess did not see on our OPEN TABLE reservation that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary or mention it.
I prefer uchi Dallas to this. It’s good, but missing the oomph. Gyutoro was a bit dry. Sushi temps were a bit off and so would break down in your mouth differently. Service was good, and ours really took care of us by ordering for us. But when food was brought, there were inconsistencies where certain servers would take time to explain ingredients in dish/ how to eat it and some would not.
Go with the signature chef tasting for 2. You will not be disappointed. The best part of the restaurant is the service they provide. They will tell you how to eat each dish which contributes to the overall experience.
Uchi never disappoints! From the fresh fish to the meats that melt in your mouth to the amazing teamwork of servers, this place never seizes to amaze me. The energy is amazing and it’s definitely my happy place!
Great food and service only a bit cold near the air conditioner
Usually uchi delivers but the last two visits have been subpar. Same chef at the sushi bar for both visits forgot orders and wait time between courses have been long. 25 minutes wait time in between each sushi piece ordered is exhausting and not appetizing. The food always is great but due to recent staff turnover, the service is lacking.
Amazing food, service, and ambiance!
I've heard so much hype about this place and was slightly underwhelmed. That said we had a good night and would go back.
Wonderful food , experience, and service. Pricey but worth it
Food was wonderful as usual, however service was not as sharp as usual at Uchi. We waited several times for water & drink orders and refills, and the server didn’t seem empowered to handle things swiftly on his own. We expect better service at Uchi and hope for normal high standard next time.
Phenomenal Houston gem. The waitstaff and sushi chefs are so knowledgeable, and make the experience fun. The flavors are eclectic and bold. Fish is fresh. And they take care to make sure they're informed of your preferences or any allergies you might have. The only negative is that I made an OT reservation, and when I arrived they sat me at the bar, versus a table. But the bartender was exceptional and made the experience lovely.
We had quite a few dishes that came out wrong and it felt like the waiter was sarcastic about the mix up. I’ve been coming here for over 4 years and love the food, but recently the service has gone down (depending on which waiter you have)
Still the most interesting restaurant in houston
Let the staff indulge you with the cheif choose and u will never it twice the same dish.
The food is just OK, a little disappointed about the birthday celebrating.
A unique blend of Japanese and comfort food--- at modest prices between 5-6:30pm
Love Uchi! Been there several times and it never disappoints. The staff is knowledgeable and the execution in the kitchen is always consistent and flawless.
Our waiter was arrogant and treated us like he was making us a favor. TERRIBLE.
Annual birthday dinner did not disappoint! Waiters and staff are so friendly and knowledgeable.
Servic was impeccable, food was extraordinary!!
Never less than outstanding!
Great food and service. Enjoy every bite. The waiters are very friendly and professional. Lovely atmosphere.
Having dined years ago at the original Uchi in Austin for multiple special occasions, my wife and I were disappointed in the very casual dress code (or lack of one given the gentleman sitting at the sushi bar in flip flops and a Mickey Mouse t-shirt and many patrons wearing casual streetware throughout the restaurant) and ambiance at the location in Houston when we recently dined there for an anniversary celebration.
The service and food were top notch but given the current ambiance and dress code, in the future we will be choosing to dine at the other top flight sushi restaurants in Houston with better, more refined ambiances (MF and Nobu) for special occasions.
Was celebrating my cousins promotion. Everyone who came to our table said congratulations which was really nice. However, it took awhile after we sat down for our waiter to come by and take our order. Also, he didn’t check on us as much as I would have liked. We asked for wasabi which never came and then had to get his attention so that we could remind him. Also, two of the sushi rolls I ordered had too much salt. The walu walu was great but also had too much salt. The salmon kiwi had small salmon pieces. I’ve ordered this before and the dish has come with larger pieces of salmon. I’ve been to uchi multiple times and have always had a good experience. This last time was not quite what I’m used to.
Omakase chef taste should excite me but no. Just regular items you will see in normal Japanese restaurants. Spend lots of money but not worth it.
Amazing food and service as always. Uchi is one of the best restaurants in Houston.
Great time at the sushi bar- the chef guided us through some outstanding tasting fish. Uchi is by far our favorite restaurant in Houston.
Lovely atmosphere, incredible food, impeccable service! Some of the best sushi and sashimi we have ever had. A great place for a date night or dinner with friends. Fun and social atmosphere.
We went for our anniversary. Everyone was very courteous, congratulatory, and the service was superb! They comped our brussel sprouts since dessert was included with the meal we chose. Those were delicious and a great addition to the sashimi and beef.
The food was outstanding, very unique. We had the 10 course Chef’s Tasting, which I highly recommend if you like to try a little of everything. It is pricey, so be prepared.
The music was a little loud, as was the young group sitting behind us. Other than that, we had a wonderful evening.
The very best service & the food was delicious, as always!
We got a 10-course Omakase. We were serviced by a server and 3 food runners (iirc). I usually don't encounter these many food runners in a single dining service, however, all of them were very knowledgeable about the dishes. Had a great experience, and will be back.
