Truffles - St. Louis
“This is a top-tier eatery. The kitchen is reinvigorated and inventive…” STL Magazine, 5/2011.
Truffles strives to produce a menu that easily fuses rustic and contemporary American cooking. With simplicity and seasonality as our guide, house-made specialties such as pasta and salumi are prepared fresh every day and are complemented by choice selections of locally sourced and raised meats, seafood and inventive sides. The Truffles menu begins in the fields, rivers and farms of the Midwest and our award-winning wine list features wines from every corner of the earth. We bring the best flavors of the season direct to your plate.
The corkage fee to bring a special wine is way too high. If we have a wine that we are saving for a special occasion we will look elsewhere.
Great environment , five star service , food was excellent. Super recommended , specially for a romantic date.
French onion soup was nothing but broth & cheese. No onions. The Salmon looked awesome, but wasn’t seasoned at all!!! The steak was pretty good as was the wine
Food is wonderful. Excellent service. Exceptional wine offerings
Will be back
Another incredible dining experience! One of the top 5 restaurants in St.Louis,a must dine. Saturday night,Jazz in the Lounge,Dress To Impress!!
Very nice overall. This was my first visit and I was mostly impressed. We went on a Thursday night and although the bar was jumping the dining room was not half full. Not a problem in and of itself. With all the 4 tops available in the room we were squeezed into a 2 top, seated across each other, right next to a 4 top with 2 diners. We are not ancient, but the noise level made it hard to have a private conversation without speaking very loudly and disturbing our neighbors. The dinner was very good, and very expensive. I would go back again , but would insist on another table. I understand that servers have stations and the management wants to even the load - been there. I would request a table ahead of time.
Our server was good. I had the 4 oz filet and there was a spice of herb on it that was strong. My guess tarragon that I honestly didn’t care for. The filet was cooked perfectly but the use of this spice blend that I inquired about I did not care for. Maybe this should be disclosed prior to ordering so a customer can request to have their selection without it.
Great food and service.... and thank you for the room!!! Very nice surprise for my wife's birthday dinner.
This my first time at Truffles as I have passed by many times... Our first day was perfect as we started at the Main Bar with an excellent Bar Tender then moved to our table... We ate The BBQ Cajun Shrimp, Frog Legs and Mushroom Risotto! Everything tasted great!
Fantastic food, fantastic service, great decor, pricey. Would def go again when budget allows.
Great for birthdays
Wonderful. Late night dinner. It was perfect!
Fierst class resturaunt, wait staff was very quick and considerate. Food was excellent>
Food was excellent and different enough to be interesting. Service was what one would expect for a high end restaurant. The ambiance was better than expected. It was our first time there and we will be back.
A favorite and quiet enough to have a conversation without shouting. Small menu, but plenty of choices and serving sizes are generous.
The waiter named Yao was excellent and provided the best service we have had at any restaurant in years.
Always amazing service and food! One of our top favorite places to visit.
The truffle fries were AMAZING. But everything else was just ok. I think there are other restaurants in stl that have better food for better price.
I love the food and location of this restaurant. My complaint is that they put us at a table by the kitchen. It was very noisy with staff running in and out. There were better tables but they told us they were “reserved”. However they were never used. It’s as if they were hoping some celebrity or someone more important than our party might show up. The interesting thing is that this was the second time in a month that this has happened. We were nicely dressed and have dined there often. We spent $480 for 4people. It’s always like that but they obviously don’t appreciate us so I doubt we will be back.
Always delicious food and outstanding service! The restaurant can be filled and you can easily maintain table conversation without raising your voice.
I've driven by this place hundreds of times while visiting home and finally decided to try it. Not sure why I waited so long because the exterior is inviting and beautiful. I ordered the Petite Fillet and ordered it Black-&-Blue style and cooked black and blue. It was perfect! Their Truffle Fries are killer. The green beans had a mix of crisp tender and mushy, but the flavor was terrific. I love that they have the prep station in the dining room to watch the wait staff put on the last little bits before serving the table. Atmosphere was classic French and very warming. Neighborhood is, of course, phenomenal, and it looked like a lot of locals enjoy it too. I'll definitely be back.
We have been going to Truffles every week for years Other than the servers ...so unfriendly. You would think they would have the time to say hello! Not sure we are going back.
This was I think our 4th or 5th time at Truffles. This time it was for our 21st wedding anniversary. As always it was great. We were forced to try new things this time. There were some changes on the menu. Instead of my usual escargot, I tried the mussels. They were served in a delicious broth and I really enjoyed them. My husband usually would get the clam chowder, but he tried a salad that he just loved. It had fried crawfish tails in it. For my entree I had the almond trout. It was very good, however very rich. The service as usual was excellent. Just the right amount of attention without being overwhelming. One nice touch I must mention was that since it was our anniversary, they brought out an amazing desert of espresso chocolate with icecream for us Top notch
I keep wanting for it sot surprise me to the good. I go about every 5 months.
Went there with co-workers and had a fabulous dinner. the food was great. Ambiance is ok......but definitely worth trying for the food. Pretty extensive wine selection for restaurant in a strip mall.
we enjoyed it and would definitely go back.
The steak was one of the best in the city and cooked to perfection. Our reservation time was honored. We shared a Caesar salad and thought the homemade cookies for dessert were delicious.
Service was excellent. Food was terrific, especially shrimp appetizer. Will definitely try again!
My cousin is gluten free and could not eat the potatoes under the trout was potatoes that she requested risotto. The server said yes we can I’ve you risotto but never said it was a $15.00 up charge. The bill showed up with an up charge and they even charged us for my birthday dessert. I felt the manager did not handle it correctly .
Poor customer service with great food!
Service was slow and very unattentive and unresponsive to simple requests. We were not adequately informed about sides. When the food came the two filet plates were served to the wrong people. We only discovered this after cutting the steaks. Food quality was average at best at significantly above average prices. We will not be returning. We had high expectations and ended up very disappointed.
Food was served hot and all dishes ordered were phenomenal.
Excellent service! Beautiful ambiance. Filet entree and pork chop were cooked perfectly
Amazing food! Large wine menu. Had a nice anniversary dinner there.
Truffles never seems to disappoint. The cuisine quality is great. Seems like a lot of regular customers go there and it gives a good vibe to the atmosphere. Would recommend for any occasion.
Great food as usual. Service was prompt and friendly.
The service was amazing! The staff brought us out several small dishes to try since it was our first time and our waiter even trestles us to champagne. It was an excellent first impression and we will definitely be back!
Very good food with excellent service.
Tables are very close so it becomes very noisy. Drinks were not cold, not sure why. Food and server, Adam, did a nice job
All the food was expertly prepared and was delicious, service was attentive but didn't hover, place was clearly popular with the local crowd, the bar was packed when we arrived for dinner.
Truffles was a wonderful restaurant to celebrate my birthday, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Steaks were amazing and flavorful, as were our appetizers and desserts.
