Trattoria la Vigna Ratings and Reviews
When you come to this restaurant you are in for a treat as Chef Pina, an Italian native, cooks up authentic Italian dishes. The restaurant has a nice cozy, elegant atmosphere to enjoy your whole dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant as one of the best places on Galveston Island to have a delicious Italian meal!
Rapidly becoming our "go to" dining experience. Feels like a neighborhood haunt - very low key and comfortable in a familiar sense. Food is positively amazing. Veal Marsala, Pork Tenderloin and Fish Specials have all been delicious. Modest, but excellent, wine list. Service has always been friendly and unobtrusive. We will be going back often
The sea food has been exceptional. The Marinara sauce will be remembered. Took our son and daughter in-law and they remarked that each course was exceptional, the bread, the calamari, the main dish, and the dessert. We have been back several times and the owner, chief usually makes it out to greet us.
Casual dining and generally always good. I ordered a shrimp dish which was good but nothing beyond basic. I like that a dinner salad comes with the meal instead of ala'cart like so many other places do. Nice simple Italian food nicely served. We'll be back!
While there are many great places to eat in the area, this is our absolute favorite restaurant. I get the veal marsala with a glass of merlot every time and it's the best thing ever. This is the perfect place for date night or to take a group of friends. Pina is such an excellent chef and my husband and I have loved everything we've tried.
Had heard great things about this place. Issue for us was rudeness to patrons. With reservations, we were seated quite a while later...an then at the end of an hour , all we had was water and a glass of wine. The food was fabulous, but the service and disregard ruined the evening. Because this is Galveston, we MIGHT give one more chance, however this place is disrespectful to patrons! I don't get it!
Four of us had an early dinner before attending a performance at the 1894 Opera House. The food was well cooked and fresh. I had veal escalope and several fellow diners had fish. They have a small but good selection of wines at reasonable prices. No table clothes- this casual dinning but I would recommend it. It exceeded our expectations.
Let me say my wife loved her ravioli or this would've been fewer stars. We had caprese which was ok. Needed a bit more balsamic on the dish and it wasn't the best mozzarella but we ate it. My wife had ravioli which she enjoyed but my spaghetti with tomato sauce was inedible. I should have sent it back but didn't. The pasta was chewy and sauce was oily. Flavor was good but noodles made it inedible. I left most of it. Our server was just ok. She kept trying to get me to keep my silverware after each course even when each time I asked her for clean items. Oh and the Italian bread served with oil was also chewy. The cheese bread was good. I would not go back. My wife is on fence.
Difficult to know where to park and once there street indicated on gps is not where the front door is which is on the side of another street - bathroom inside the the tiny dining room, noisy and unable to talk with only 3 other tables the kitchen banged loudly entire time when we asked for a quiet table-food ok, service slow, one server only
We love Tratorria La Vigna. The owners are always there--making sure everything is going well, and the wife is an amazing chef. Every time we go I vow to try something different--but always end up ordering the luscious linguine with clams. It is delectable!!
My husband ordered some kind of penne pasta with their homemade red sauce--and loved it. Wines are reasonable- with a nice choice. We chose the full cluster, Willamette Valley Oregon Pinot Noir--great!
For wonderful homemade Italian cuisine-with great service--this can't be beat!
This was our first time at Trattoria la Vigna, but it will not be our last. This hidden gem in Galveston offers some of the best Italian cuisine we have ever eaten, and we have dined in Italina restaurants around the world! The food is sophisticated and absolutely delicious. If you are in the Galveston area and want to enjoy a fabulous meal, by all means visit this restaurant.
