Excellent service. Enjoyed the luncheon. Very nice
First visit and was very impressed with Tommy's. Overall I give them 5 stars. Atmosphere and service was outstanding and the food was very good. Just a notch under excellent but worth every penny we spent which to be honest it was very inexpensive for the food that you receive. Highly recommend anyone considering Tommy's to definitely give them a shot.
Just not the Tommy's it used to be. Service in particular was bad. N ever got my salad.
I ordered the shrimp remolaude extremely spicy. For the entree I got the eggplant with the stuffing it was cold extremely greasy and no flavor. I bragged and bragged about Tommy’s took my sister there from Atlanta and I was very embarrassed that dinner was not what I expected.
Overall it was another great experience. We went on a busy night and the kitchen seemed to be having trouble keeping up. Food was great when it came.
9:00 reservation got us seated at 9:30 in an emptying restaurant. Others in our party Did not receive what they ordered. Mani mahi was so dry and only ate one bite but the papardella as a side was fresh and delish when the waiter returned to clear the dishes asked “you did t eat it, it was too dry huh?” And left it in the check. Disappointing service and quality. Wine was good though did not have more than 1 bottle of anything we were interested in
Excellent food and service.
Valentines dinner. Unfortunately disappointed in overall experience. Several years since dining there. Food quality and presentation was not at level expect. Service staff were pleasant and professional but seemed less experienced. The dishes that we ordered were from the favorites/classic section of menu, but fell short of expectations for a signature dish.
Fantastic Meal!!!! Our server Love was extremely attentive and professional. Food met the high standards of our Italian grandmothers kitchen!!!!!
My boyfriend and I had an excellent experience at Tommy's and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful dining experience on the more formal side in New Orleans. If we go back to NOLA we will definitely be visiting Tommy's again. A truly great experience!
Good was excellent, service was excellent as well!
Our waitress Rachel was fabulous, attentive, knowledgeable and very pleasant
Service was pretty bad. Not sure if kitchens fault or the waiter but took over 45 minutes to receive salads and all we heard was we were next yet plenty of tables that were seated after us, were finishing their entree before we received salads. Other tables even commented asking us if we wanted some of their food because ours was taking so long. Shame to take our son out to dinner and just have a pretty bad experience.
First time there with a group of 4, seated at small round table not much room on the table between appetizers and entree’s uncomfortable . Grilled oysters were served like warm at best not how they should be presented. Duck dish was over cooked . Maybe another visit will be better
Known for a proper dinner and to discover a brunch option?!? Our friends were delighted with the servers, the delicious brunch, and the beautiful ambiance. If your group fancies the original menu, you can enjoy the Italian dishes Tommy's is known for.
I haven’t been to Tommy’s in a long time because ownership or upper management not really sure but there are some of the rudest people I’ve ever met.
Having said that the staff are wonderful the food is excellent the restaurant is beautiful.
Just get the ownership to stay home and the place would be perfect.
We had a reservation for 8pm, have been actually seated at 9pm and got our food around 10:30pm. The bread was dry and the place incredibly loud for a setting of a homely Italian restaurant. The food was ok, nothing too authentic or exciting.
The staff was great though, both the hostess and the waitress were very nice and attentive.
Not sure what happened there and is it a standard practice, but we have never waited so long for a reserved table (as if it’s ok in any way) anywhere in the world.
The restaurant was severely understaffed and everyone waited a minimum of 2 1/2 hours for the food. One table of 12 people left as their entrées were arriving because they had waited almost 3 hours to get their meal. It’s really too bad because the food was excellent but obviously the restaurant tour is not staffing the restaurant well enough to keep up with demand
Spinach and artichoke dip was great! I really enjoyed the swordfish. My daughter didn’t like the caprese salad. It barely had any mozzarella on it. My husband said his pasta was over cooked but the Parm chicken itself was yummy. We had excellent service, great drinks and overall we agree we would go back again. Request a side dining room. Our table was right near the entrance which lacked the ambiance that the other rooms seemed to have.
Wanted a romantic dinner for two and that is EXACTLY what Tommy's delivered. The portions of the food were more than enough to fill you up and have some left. The wait staff was knowledgeable in all aspects from wine selection to what someone with a dairy allergy could have. Would so go back when I am in the city again.
Overall good! There is better Italian around if that is what you are want!
Loved the food and atmosphere! And our waiter, Marco, was charming, attentive, and sweet. We had a great time!
Been going there for over twenty years. Food and service has taken a dramatic downturn. I’ve been hearing this from many locals there, but could not believe it. Well, it’s sad but true. Striking Tommy’s from my Top 25 New Orleans restaurants. Not going back.
All was great except service was slow throughout and was not attentive. I will continue to list this as a favorite place
The staff and food were excellent. Most definitely recommend and will be back
I hate to give bad reviews but wow... this was the worst dining experience I have ever had. Then add to it that this was suppose to be a nice NOLA restaurant! Bar was nice and drinks were great. Dinner service was terrible. Two hours and we still didn’t have our entrees. When we asked the waiter we were informed it was our fault because we ordered two rounds of appetizers. Meals finally came and one of the steaks was completely raw... so while the restaurant itself has all the New Orleans Brock, etc to create that NOLA feel - there are too many other restaurants to waste time here. Even the small deli’s would be a better choice.
What a wonderful time with friends. Great service & willing to tweak our drinks for picky women!
We loved the wonderful cuisine. Our waitress was knowledgable and kind. We were overall pleased by the entire experience. They were just not prepared with the turtle soup at the time our reservation which was a bummer. However, we replaced that item with the gumbo which was exceptional.
The food was not up to par. We were told they changed owners. Will not go back
Steve and new young lady excellent service
Excellent! Food and service were great. Highly recommend.
It’s always our go-to spot for my husband and I, but this time we shared it with friends and they all equally agreed that Tommy’s was the best place in New Orleans.
I was disappointed although my husband's meal was good mine was overcooked(veal with crab) and later I was up all night with an upset stomach. Perhaps is was a coincidence and we may try again nt sure.
Food was very good. Loved the atmosphere. Ariel our waitress was fantastic!!!
Typical NO setting with wooden chairs and white table cloths. We were accommodated New Year’s Eve with a short notice and we were seated within 5 minutes of the specified time! The seafood pasta was excellent and was matched with a white wine from New Zealand. Italian flavors with a creole twist. The only issue was that they told us they ran out of oysters after we placed our order bit it is forgiven in such a busy night!
The service was very good. Ordered the filet cooked medium. It was closer to well. The potatoes that came with it were dry and overcooked: almost rubbery. The restaurant is not as good as it used to be. 30 to 40 minutes after ordering, the kitchen came to our table and told us they were out of one of our dining partner’s meals. 30 to 40 minutes later. That should’ve happened wait earlier in the ordering process.
Turtle soup was incredible le . Veal was delicious
The food is always wonderful, the service is always great!
Besides the noise level being off the charts (6 PM New Year’s Eve, giving them a pass) The place was decorated beautifully!
