What Insiders Are Saying
As far as classic, good-for-everything establishments go, it’s hard to beat the Wolseley. The breakfasts here are an essential London experience.
Very good fruit crumble but old crowd with no prospects for date :)
A great experience for a typical british tea time! Reservation recommended.
Absolutely delightful, time after time.
Food, ambience and people all combine to make it vibrant, fun and a great evening out.
My biggest problem with the restaurant was that after two hours they asked my two clients and me to leave the table and finish in the tea room. We were eating and drinking and spending money the whole time too. Not cool.
The restaurant is beautiful, very classy. Service is good. We are sitted in time. I just feel that the pricing and the food quality is quite disappointing, did not have a wow experience with the food.
We order the Steak for two. We did not notice that it was priced per person (my fault). I wished the server had confirmed with us that the price is double what was printed on the menu. The fries and mushroom that came with the steak are delicious, but the steak has tough tendons that makes the meat hard to eat. I am quite disappointed.
Quite loud, nice ambience, breakfast was quite good. Near Buckingham Palace, the Ritz, and Green Station. I would come again. the pancakes were delicious.
A lovely experience, as usual. The only issue was that the white wine was initially not cold enough. Twenty minutes in the tableside ice bucket solved the problem.
Good food, and great atmosphere, but patchy service - waited 30 minutes for our main course plates to be cleared
Really great experience as always, delightful service and a great menu
It’s a classic restaurant, every time I go to London I have to go, I love having breakfast there.
The people in nice, si fast and the food is good
We had made a reservation, having beeen at least 20 times the last 7 years, bit were put at a table on a balcony, very bad position awful spot.
Would advise the restaurant to close those tables!
One of my favourite places for brunch in London living up to the normal high standard
I've been here, and sister restaurant, several times for breakfast, and have really enjoyed it. This time (birthday breakfast) didn't live up to expectations... Veggie options and service were lacking. I've written to them and they have contacted me to discuss. Let's see what happens!
Food is excellent, but the service is not that good which can compare to the food, environment and price. We wait about 15 mins in the hall, when I realize it’s already pass the time we booked, I asked the desk man, he just started to lead us to the seat, but if I didn’t ask them, then we will wait longer.
Grea service and always great food and all in a majestic setting.
Went for breakfast; the canële, Kippers and coffee were perfect
I did say to them though that they should make more of an effort to serve toast warmer
Though obviously busy already, when we arrived the staff were polite, friendly and professional, and took us to our table immediately. The waiting staff were continually courteous and attentive, keeping us updated on our food and our glasses filled.
The food was delicious, each and every dish arriving in exactly the right state, which was amazing considering the number of people in the restaurant.
The design of the building itself is fascinating, the layout perfect for people watching.
A thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Reliable and appealing range of choices on menu. Noise level can be challenging. Reception staff gracious.
You need to book as it can get very busy even on weekdays. We went here for breakfast to celebrate my birthday and I really loved the complimentary pastry with birthday greetings they served us. The service was faultless and I would come back again but maybe I'm try lunch or dinner next time.
Had pre-booked 5 days in advance but still had to wait 45 minutes for my table which should have been at 8pm. The food arrived at 9 which was too late to eat for me, hence the reservation was for 8 !
But have been many times to you including holding my daughters wedding reception there. But this time we had come with friends for a pre dinner meal. Kept waiting 1/2 hr for a pre booked table. My friend and I had burgers and to be honest McDonalds could have done better they were cold dry and boring. My partner had a steak and asked for a green salad this consisted of a few leaves thrown randomly in a bowl.
Brought my parents for breakfast. Fantastic as always!
The food and ambience were wonderful and I would highly recommend this place. The staff were also very friendly and attentive; the service was just amazing! I’m looking forward to going back.
An excellent meal as usual - only spoil somewhat but the over amorous couple sitting next to us!
Usually love the ambience but lunch booked 1.30 very noisy. Food was poor. 2 of us had lamb tagine and I certainly could have cooked better myself. When the lid was taken off we were presented with a grey mess. It didn't look appetising and tasting it was no better. We did tell the waiter and 1 meal was deducted from the bill as some form of goodwill gesture. Not very logical given 2 tagines were awful. I won't have given up on THe Wolsely but will be careful what I choose next time
Lunch with my family. Service was outstanding. Wonderful ambiance and experience.
Service was very poor. Food was also cold and vey average. Shame as I love this place, but over priced and I wont be heading back.
Always a treat and impressive too. Well orth recommending.
Fantastic service as always. My fave place for afternoon tea. Their scones are 👌🏻👍
Very good food.
I have been wanting to go to the Wolseley for a long time and we left with mixed feelings. My partner‘s steak was perfect, the French Fries had the quality of McDonalds fries. I just had a crumble which was nice, overall our food was ok but a little overpriced. What ruined my experience was the arrogance of our waiter, who let us wait several times and with obvious hostility. Tables near us were served faster and with more care. Having worked in service myself I recognize even minor mistakes, but this was not a tiny misstep. It was disappointing and offending. I might go again, though, because I have seen the friendliness and very well executed service at other tables.
Food is always very good, while some dishes are excellent. However service is declining. A waiter argued with me about their salad dishes when my salad was different than what I usually order, which was very unpleasant.
The food was excellent. Quite a traditional menu but was well cooked and presented. The service was also excellent and very slick. The atmosphere was great - quite buzzing and noisy which we liked.
Service was attentive. Food is always good. We eat here at least once every time we are in London.
Great location by the Ritz Hotel London and the great shopping areas. The fish is always fresh and delicious, and they also have wonderful chicken and beef entrees. I always eat lunch here when I’m in London and am never disappointed.
Noisy！ Unpolitely service!
Enjoyed our visit,food good,service great,people watching ideal,value for money ?
Food was good and we were lucky with a great table. Very overpriced and service was ok. Have had better experiences elsewhere in London.
Overpriced wine menu, lots of staff but only one who knew what service was. Left alone and overlooked most of the evening. £300 for dinner for two with a bistro/brasserie menu, nice bit for the price was expecting something special. Underwealmed by the whole costly experience
Great Vibe. Love the food choice. Anything from a snack to a steak. Had half lobster which had a good flavour although slightly overcooked and chewy. Lovely crispy hot chips. Would absolutely recommend have been going back for years. Very stylish and buzzy atmosphere.
