Located within a five minute walk to tube, over-ground and British rail links make The Vine a perfect destination to meet up with family and friends, enjoy a bite and a drink before and after gigs at the world famous Forum, or serve as a comforting respite for dog walkers and cyclists post-exertion on Hampstead Heath.
Come play on one of our two shuffle boards and get shuffling #shufflenw5
Never going back here it was awful - we had to wait half an hour to order, then they had run out of everything and then at half 10 (an hour later) when we still hadn't received our food we went to check and they said the kitchen staff had left.... so we had to leave without having even eaten! Poor service and really disappointing.
Shuffleboard and jenga were really fun. Good outdoor and indoor space. We were told someone would come outside to take our order. Half an hour we had to remind them then ten more minutes later someone came. We waited for an hour for our food... Someone new arrived and ordered and their food arrived in ten minutes before everyone elses! They had completely forgotten our order.
It felt like they blamed us which was odd. The barman on the other hand was very nice.
Great pub, roomy and very comfortable with an outside area great for sitting in the sun. Menu varied and a bit different from the usual fare. Great drinks menu and most importantly fun staff.
Thank you so much for a fab review. Glad you loved the outdoor area, w spent a lot of time decorating it for everyone to enjoy. Hopefully the weather the picks up and when it does please do come again :)
Decent gastro pub with something for everyone including a big TV that had sport on in one part of the bar so happy spouse
Vegan options better than most I’ve had and the there is a nice touch doggie water station in the front garden
Glad you liked the vegan options, we spent a lot of time trying to create some innovative vegan options. We hope to see you again very soon.
Great Pub food, spacious place and super friendly staff
glad you enjoyed our staff, we are very proud of them. See you again soon.
A great spacious pub with a lovely conservatory roof in the dining area. It was pretty quiet when I was there but I can imagine it getting nicely busy. The shuffleboards are a great idea and we had loads of fun with that. The roast dinner wasn't the best I've ever had, but certainly not bad.
Glad you enjoyed the shuffle boards, we love them so much! Please come again an play them, they are free on Monday evenings after 7pm.
Review would have been better. We had to wait too long for the offer of a desert, about 45 mins, so we asked for the bill and left as I had a train to catch and we would not have been able to have completed our meal in the two hours lalotted for our table. We arrived at 4pm and left at 5.30pm with only the main meal presented.
Hi Ann, Im sorry that you did not receive the offer of a desert soon enough. If you would be so kind to let me know who your server was i will investigate further to improve our service for next time.
Nice food. Sunny day outside with family.
Thank you for the great review.
I had Sunday lunch in the vine last year and the food and service was much better then than last Sunday. Was stuck in the middle of the pub on a table for 10 and service was slow and the food was not great. Potatoes were very though to cut. The staff were friendly and helpful but we sat for a long time before placing our order then the food took at least 40 minutes to arrive
Lovely big pub, child friendly, dining room out back and food is good but pricey. We booked but were disappointed as they screen the rugby in the restaurant area. Not conducive with an expensive family roast dinner!
Lovely pub, however, the Rugby was on this day which meant the pub was busy, which is to be expected but the staff didn't seem quite prepared for this and was a little chaotic. Also, we said we were not there to watch ruby yet out table was directly under the TV where the game was on. The food was good although they did forget the odd dish.
The dinner was half the size it used to be not as nice and still the same price disappointed next time I’ll go somewhere else !!
Thank you for the feedback, it saddens me that the experience was not what it used to be. Please feel free to email the pub firstname.lastname@example.org I would love to hear more about the experience so i can make plans to improve the roasts. Kylie Green General Manager
The heavy crowds and noise level on a Friday night is a stark contrast to the ambience of this restaurant on a Sunday lunchtime. Nice food and good service but pick your times carefully.
Thank you for the review. We are glad that you like the food and service. we hope to see you again soon :)
Loved the Spaghetti Bolognese and Mac & Cheese croquettes!
Nice child (and dog) friendly pub with good service and a good range of food, within easy walking distance of Hampstead Heath. Will definitely go back for another Sunday lunch with friends
Thank you for the great review, we hope to see you, the children and fur baby again soon. Manager
Really excellent Bavette Steak served here at very good price, Sharing starters are very good too
One of favourites is the Bavette so we are glad that you loved it. We hope to see you again soon. Manager
My first time here. Made to feel very welcome. The service was friendly and the food good. I look forward to returning.
Great to hear that you will be returning. Our friendly staff will be waiting for you :) Manager
Very disappointed, as the menu looked great, but the fish had bones in, the broccoli had the heads cut off, the service was desperately slow, even though there was hardly anyone in there. Such a shame as it used to be a great local, hopefully it was just having a bad day.
Hi, Sadly we were having a bad day. Thank you for the feed back, we will endeavour to work on the above points and improve on quality and consistency. All the best, and we hope you return soon. Manager
Eight of us dined here on a Friday night. The manager had kindly chosen a quiet table for us in an alcove, though the lights were quite bright which spoilt the atmosphere somewhat.
Our food took a long time to arrive and when it did it came in dribs and drabs. The chicken burgers arrived 15 mins after everything else and were not cooked through. The ribs were dry and over priced. We were hoping to order dessert but had not been told im advance what time the kitchen would be closiing so missed the opportunity. We were pleased to get some money back for the problems described above.
It's a nice pub but I wouldn't go here for food again, and certainly not with a large group. Overall a disappointing experience.
Huge apologies that you left so unsatisfied. I have forwarded the feedback to the head chef, and we will work on how quality and consistency of the food, and how to not let a big table down with the service. We do hope to see you again soon. Manager
I have used the pub for years but the prices are too high
Very mixed experience but overall disappointing. Lovely waitress at the bar. We managed to get a table outside, which was great. Sadly when it can to the food, our main meals were delivered at the same time as our starters and the staff seemed surprised that we wouldn’t want to eat them at the same time. Additionally, when we did start to eat our mains, my friend discovered that her bacon burger didn’t have any bacon in it. One rather lonely, cold rasher was reluctantly provided to her to position into the burger herself. During this process we were made to feel like we were problem customers. We finished eating, drank up, and instead of staying longer decided to go to an alternative bar where we felt our custom would be more welcome. Perhaps we were unlucky but given that there are so many fun places to go in Kentish Town, we won’t be rushing back to eat at The Vine.
Amazing staff and lots of little extras to make a lovely Fathers Day. Food was fantastic too!
This pub has the friendliest and most welcoming staff you can imagine
Service was a bit slow at times, seemed a little unorganised but the food was decent
Brilliant in everyway possible: food, service, ambience.
My husbands 70th birthday.
Catered for all our needs.
Definitely recommend and will go back again.
went there on easter sunday. food and service ok.
but unfortunately its a little bit too " child friendly"! with kids running around inside the pub & outside in the front garden :-(
Starter arrived cold. Had bad tummy that night. So won't be recommending.
Roast was ok but took 90min to come as kitchen too busy to take our order (despite accepting our reservation) and wasn't worth that wait
As ever the Vine delivers quality food with lovely friendly staff. It’s my local and I go with family and friends, with children grandchildren whatever th occasion allows! Love it!
Booked The Vine on Open Table for 3.00 p.m. on Sunday 25 February to take 92 year old for Sunday lunch. Was directed to sit down at a table, given menu etc, but then waited more than 20 minutes and only on asking if we could order drinks and meal were we told that the 'kitchen' was now closed and would not reopen for quite a while. The Manager apologised and tried 'sister' restaurant 'The Oxford', but they were fully booked too. Extremely disappointed and said they should not take bookings if they cannot accommodate numbers. Left us trying to find somewhere for lunch late on a Sunday afternoon which isn't easy with a hungry, restricted mobility 92 year old in tow!!!
Lovely pints on drafts (neck oil) and thanks to the staff and expecially Fabrizio for that last round of shots! It was my birthday and it's a lovely touch. We also really enjoyed the whisky selection, the shuffleboard and the relaxed atmosphere.
On the good side, my pork and my partners chicken were ok. Roast potatos were good.
on the down side, we were sat by the door so everytime it opened we froze. The gravy was pointless(no wonder its bottomless) The green stuff was absolutely horrible and the Cauiliflower was rock hard.
It was also very overpriced.
having said that it was quite busy, but we had tried to book everywhere else and and couldn`t get a seat. sooooooooo. if your really desparate .... get a takeaway.
We went for a group Sunday lunch on the first weekend of re-opening. The place is super nice, cosy and bright thanks to ceiling windows. We could play while waiting for the food, which was fun! The cider was great and the food very tasty - we ordered a plate which wasn't as we expected, but the staff was really nice and helpful and gave us additional food. Really good Sunday roast!
Lovely roast. Tasty Malbec. Could definitely spend all afternoon in there. In fact I think we did.
Great food and fast service
Really enjoyed our food, all four of us. Would definitely return if though it is not near where we live.
I saw The Vine recommended in a list of the best roast dinners in North London. I live just a few minutes away from it so I decided to try. We booked a table for three and sat outside. The service was incredibly friendly - probably the strong point of this pub. The Sunday roast was, unfortunately, not one for the best-list. Each person at the table tried a different meat (pork, beef and a trio) and all were slightly disappointing. The parsnips were under-cooked and the gravy too runny. If it was a normal, no expectations sort of dinner, I would say it is alright. However, I went there to try one of the best roast dinners in north London. I wouldn't put The Vine on that list! Overall, it was a pleasant experience and a nice pub.
their fish and chips are SOOOO delicious. Highly recommend.
A lovely atmosphere for a pub lunch with my family. We sat outside in the sun. Thank you!
Our food was undercooked and really bland. Very disappointed.
