   Fun place for that quintessential retro-vibe many come to Palm Springs for. It’s a lively atmosphere in the main dining room. The noise level can be a bit high at times, not a quiet formal dinner for sure. The cocktails are sweet and boozy which is perfect after a hot day. The firecracker shrimp appetizer was just ok. Pork chop was tasty and MASSIVE. Halibut daily special was light and delicious. Portions are generous. Service was excellent.

   The service is pretty good, and the ambiance is great. The food is pretty awful, the menu is 20 years old and hasn't aged well, and most things are microwaved and have too much sugar. It's all very basic Sysco food items that you would see at any cheap, chain restaurant. Do yourselves a favor and skip this restaurant. There are far better options in Palm Springs.

    Julian is an inadequate manager. He ruined our entire experience. Customer service must not be important to this restaurant instead they rest on their previous reputation and take advantage of their clients. I will not go back to this restaurant or recommend it to others.

    I've been a customer of Tropical for 10+years, I loved loved drinking, eating and socializing at the bar or standup table tops. Those were the good old days. It is now a place I rarely go, only when outta town'ers come do I go to Tropical. I feel rushed and feel like it is just another restaurant. Get ya in and get ya outta there for the next patrons to fill the seats. I am not complaining just making a comment on how things change. Staff very friendly, kind and helpful. Food very good, always consistent-good.

    This is our go-to place for a great evening in Palm Springs. The drinks are great, the food is great and the prices, especially during happy hour, are amazing for the portions you get. You can’t go wrong by spending an evening at Tropicale! (And the brunch is awesome too!)

    Fantastic! We had a great time, our server was great with multiple food allergies. She guided me to a great meal. The pork chop was great, and the buttered grits were phenomenal, but my favorite was a side of their black eyed pea and Lima bean succotash. To die for!

    We were one of the first to arrive for brunch, therefore our orders were put in before the place got busy, I ordered a salad which was good. Thai Chicken salad. But my 3 friends all ordered eggs, and all their eggs were served cold! How do you manage to serve 3 cold egg dishes along with a salad. It was avocado toast with poached eggs and Huevos Rancheros . That simple toast cost $23 ! ripoff ! As it got busier it got really loud . We sat outside , and I think inside would have been nicer after all.. But I will never go back to find out

    Didn’t know what to expect before booking here… the online photos scream desert tourist trap… happy to report the overall experience was amazing. Perfect place for dates or hangs with fun friends. Be prepared for above average prices BUT Thai place is not average: all the dishes are generously portioned and so delicious. Service is wonderful. Be sure to make reservations. If you don’t reserve a table, please be kind to the staff as they do their best to accommodate you when they can. Will definitely come back next time we’re in Palm Springs.

    I'm not one to draft bad reviews but, prompted by Open Table, and really a below-par experience for my last night in PS, here goes. First, the positive. The front of house was excellent - on the ball, and very welcoming. The wait staff were efficient. And, in terms of food, the Coconut Tiger Shrimp were tasty. On the down side. The biggest disappointment was the main. I went for the buttermilk fried chicken. I've had my fair share of buttermilk fried chicken and this was hands down, the worst. Typically, buttermilk is an excellent tenderizer and produces great fried chicken. Not this time, the chicken was tough and chewy. The accompanying sides were worse. The mash potatoes were stodgy to pasty and the succotash pretty much tasteless. The other, slightly disconcerting (?), fact was that my entree arrived less than ten minutes after I ordered it. I know, why complain about speed? For a full entree to be turned around so quickly - and then for that entree to be so underwhelming - felt as if many of the elements of the meal were pre-prepared. I also ordered a classic Paloma which seemed only to have stood next to a tequila bottle rather than have any tequila in it. The grapefruit was hard to discern and the main flavor seemed to simply be "sweet". The Tropicale was buzzing and folks clearly having a great time. I'm sure my experience was an exception given the popularity of the place.

    My friend's and my shrimp salads(2) were good, however, my husband's order for the catfish and andouille sausage was served with hot fish and meats, but, the grits were mushy and cold, not even tepid. He did not finish his dinner and was too polite to ask for a reheat.

    Love this restaurant! Our server was great. The ambience? Well, they can’t choose their clientele which seems to be young girls in way too short pink sequined dresses-ha! The shrimp tempura still makes my mouth water. Our salads and pizza-delish! The hostess—crabby, but probably because of the pink sequins. Overall we loved our choice!

    Nice atmosphere but the food was not good. Ordered a crispy nori ahi tuna roll but that was absolutely horrible. You can not call this a nori tuna roll. The whole roll was crispy and hard. Including the rice and didnt taste the so called fresh tuna. Idon’t know if the chef has ever been to Japan, but that was def not sushi. Sent it back, and we didnt had to pay for it, so that was solved wel. All the other was only fried and very salty. No taste at all. Unfortunately, we went for the good reviews but were not expecting this bad level :(

    Very nice ambiance. Sergio was a very attentive waiter Appetizers we delicious. Great seasoning on the chicken satay. Flavorful onion rings and dip. Tender ribs. Perfect firecracker shrimp. Seafood stew amazing although they had to heat it up for us Steak flatbread was massive and tasty.

    The Tropicale is fun and the menu seems original. Service was upbeat and the food was all delicious 24 bucks is too much for the dessert, but it was a good dessert. The other prices were reasonable, considering the quality of the food.
