This was a fun place with a very Palm Springs vibe. The menu is eclectic and varied so you can totally satisfy a lot of cravings and preferences for a big group. Cocktails are very sugary so beware if you’re sensitive to that haha
This is the worst experience i’ve had in the eight years I’ve been coming to PSP and dining at the Tropicale. Server suggested a cocktail other than the one i wanted and then never noticed i didn’t drink more than two sips of it as it was so harsh and unpalatable. I actually had to ask the busman to remove it from the table half way through our entrees. The firecracker shrimp appetizer was as good as ever and my date’s swordfish was served cold but he enjoyed it all. My striped sea bass was very tasty but the accompanying vegetables were so salty I couldn’t eat them. I can understand the food not being as good as it has been in the past but not having our server even ask ONCE how our food was or inquire about our dining experience is just baffling to me. Service was very slow but understandable delays as per usual the place was very busy and we could accept that. But when the bill came I was charged for that horrific cocktail! The desk couldn’t even be bothered to say good bye to us as we left and there was no one else in the area and they both definitely looked up and saw us leaving. Im so saddened by tonight as I’d looked forward to this experience for weeks as i’ve always had such great evenings there in the past but the whole evening was just so disappointing that I’m not sure I’ll ever want to go back.
Never disappointed. Best calamari anywhere! Fun atmosphere, great service.
We had reservation and waited over 30 minutes, then we seating right at the front door when I requested 3 weeks ago to seat near the fountain. Then waited for another 15 minutes before a waitress acknowledge us, ordered wine which didn’t arrive until our food was service. We live in La Quinta so I was it wasn’t easy to get to the restaurant to be treated so poorly.
Consistently festive brunch experience with enthusiastic staff and fab bottomless mimosas.
Great food, large servings . outstanding staff.
It was an amazing experience where food, service and location are all exceptional. Our server was outstanding. I think his name was JC. We are definitely coming back. Every dish was delicious and perfectly prepared. Six foodies who were all so happy with their meal choices. Can’t sing enough praises.
One of our favorites when in PS. Food is consistent, service attentive and love the atmosphere. We will definitely be back!
Great place in Palm Springs .
The food is always on point good portions and they do change up the selections .
Great dinner always the best food in time and the service is spot on.
We are weekly diners, never a bad meal or service.
This week we had the pacific line-caught swordfish with thai basil butter sticky coconut rice - sesame bok choy - shrimp curry, pan-roasted Baja striped bass with ancho chili vinaigrette black-eyed peas with corn, chorizo & cilantro - lime radish salad and Southern-fried chicken salad with roasted peppers & corn black-eyed peas, toasted pecans & buttermilk dressing
Very noisy, but excellent service. Delicious food!
We had not finished our second round of drinks or food for that matter or even been offered a dessert menu when our bill was presented and we were asked to pay and leave because others were waiting. It was 8 o'clock. Our waitress Laura had disappeared and the gentleman who presented the bill was very rude. When the lady in our party stood up her chair was swiftly removed so she couldn't sit back down.
Everything was good. A little high priced for beverages but would go again.
The Tropicale is my favorite restaurant in the Palm Springs area. Every time I have friends who come to town, this is where I take them. I always describe it as the perfect, Palm Springs “fancy tiki” lounge experience. And the food is AMAZING! Be sure to order the calamari as an appetizer.
We love Tropicale, and always have great food and good service. Highly recommended.
My favorite restaurant in Palm Springs. Hands down!!
Always a pleasant experience… Great service… Not rushed… Good food and fair prices. One of the nicest places in Palm Springs!
Would have given 5 stars, but is very noisy. Outstanding service!
Food and service are always excellent! Especially like the small plates that allow ordering several and sharing. One of our very favorite places in Palm Springs!
Great outdoor ambiance. Food is good. Drinks are great at happy hour.
Sunday brunch is a good choice.
Worth a stop at this icon! Pricey drinks. Good atmosphere
Please note that the reservation was for 6 for outdoor seating. That was the essential problem
this visit. The reservation was in my name, but I was parking while the other women entered and were immediately seated inside. The whole point of our dinner was to sit on the patio. I am the only one who has dined here before (several times) so the others didn’t assert themselves and were all seated in a booth inside by the time I arrived. It was happy hour and the patio scene was lively and fun...inside was dark, dismal and quiet. That said, it felt uncomfortable to make a fuss. We actually felt rather “profiled” as middle-aged women...or slightly older 😀 as people who wouldn’t qOur server was very nice and attentive. The food ranged from adequate to very good. But we did only order off the happy hour menu, which I had not done previously. I’ve always loved my meals here and I think dinner or small plates are the way to go and ambiance a big factor...patio ambiance, for me. I’ll be back but I felt annoyed enough to share my experience.
Super fun!! Love it
Excellent wait staff and excellent food
Had a great time
Great Palm Spring vibe! Interesting menu and amazingly friendly servers.
Wedge salad drowned in blue cheese dressing.
We were so impressed with the customer service. Outstanding! All the staff was very attentive. The ambience is the best especially on the patio. The food was wonderful too. I highly recommend a visit to The Tropicale
Great place, fun atmosphere, and good food. Recommend.
Always a great experience at Tropicale! It’s our favorite PS place to gather.
One of the best things at Tropicale is the consistency. It’s always great food and the service is congenial and usually fast. If there is a problem they always take care of it.
Birthday get together
Been going there for the last 10 years and never had a bad experience ! Great place to enjoy with your friends !
I keep returning to this restaurant's outdoor patio, a wonderful festive oasis. Great food, terrific friendly service.
Excellent as always. Food, service, experience is always outstanding.
Very good. Server was great - maybe a little too attentive. HAHA Good food, good atmosphere.
I've been to this place a number of times over the years and have mostly enjoyed it but not this time. The place was packed on a Saturday night and so loud the waitress was having trouble hearing me and I was having trouble conversing with my partner. I have a big voice which I've had to soften over time so it definitely wasn't that I speak too softly to be heard. I had asked the waitress for recommendations as I usually do since I've read that they should know the menu and know what is getting good reviews. I am not sure what she thought she heard but she (I think) said that the entrees were listed on the back page like I was too stupid to already know that after waiting 15 minutes to order. We were seated inside near a corner table so every few seconds, literally, someone was whizzing by us. It was just a loud, uncomfortable dinner. We skipped dessert because all I could think of was getting out of there. I ended up ordering the pizza which was just okay. There was barely any red sauce and it was salty. I had the Hawaiian. I've had many Hawaiian pizzas in my time that were not salty. My partner liked the Pho. The passageways are very tight and one is constantly dodging the quickly moving waitstaff. Many people seem to like this place. Maybe it's just not my thing anymore.
Fabulous food and service. Thanks, Ashley and colleagues.
Service was terrible. We received 2 different menus so my husband ordered something they didn't have and then ordered a Cobb salad that came 10 minutes after everyone else was served which was indelible. We have gone here every year with friends on our first day of Modernism week but will not return.
