The Tower Bar
Very cool place, aesthtic and romantic. Good service.. However the prices are insane. And I mean insane for the quality of food you get. You pay basically double for what the food is worth. The only thing from what we ordered that was at least unique and good enough for the price were the fries with added truffles.. Which was still a lot. Also be aware it's 13 dollars and hour for parking. And the only validate for one hour. There are plenty of other restaurants with better food for less..
Food was freezing sent back twice horrible horrible experience.
Tower still on top even without Dimitri, thank you!
The service was outstanding. When by accident the bottle of wine we were having was thrown away, the concierge approached us and told us about the incident, and even though our bottle had maybe one more serving left in it, he comped us a $200 bottle of red wine which my date and I thought was the best wine we've ever tasted. Without any hesitation, I enthusiastically recommend this place.
Place is a little dated but the room is still cool to sit in. The service was ok and the food ( 2 club sandwich) took forever. I’ll be bacj but to eat at the pool and in the sun.
Excellent service despite busy night and ambiance lovely. Enjoyed round corner table as requested.
Outstanding venue. Fantastic food. Service is always friendly and impeccable. It's a high quality dining experience.
Don't miss this!
We were looking forward to an intimate evening at Tower Bar. Things appeared to start off well with the hostess being able to accommodate my request for a corner table. Sadly, things went downhill from there. The bartender forgot one of our drinks, such that by the time the forgotten drink was served, it was piled high with ice and unmixed. Then dinner service (whereby the food was outstanding) came to disappointing conclusion in that both wines served (1/2 bottle with apps and full bottle with main course) were not served anywhere close the courses themselves. It's inexcusable for a restaurant to flub wine service so poorly. Not only were the wines served very late, but the red wine (unopened bottle) was served at room temperature, making me also question how they store their wine. I had really hoped that the evening would be filled with Hollywood magic; instead, alas it was more like a B-movie.
As a life long admirer of the famed Art Deco building it’s in I was disappointed that the Tower Bar itself didn’t reflect that. It was nicely appointed, much too dark and rather noisy. I do think that if you have to use your cell phone flashlight to read the menu something should be done. My wife and I were there to celebrate, in a quiet way, my birthday and were shown to quite possibly the worse table in the half full restaurant. I suggested we head to Musso Franks but then the very nice young lady found a table to our liking. The food? Good, not great. Pleasant enough until I got the check and realized we’d just spent a goodly sum on a mediocre meal. A birthday dinner to file under: Three and a half stars at best.
Always the perfect evening at the Tower Bar. Always!
Was in town to celebrate my 30th birthday and Tower Bar really rolled out the red carpet. Food and ambiance were on point but the service went above and beyond.
I’m constantly impressed by Gabby and the entire staff. Thank you for always making our experience so enjoyable!
Gracious service in an elegant setting. Arrived fairly late but they held the table and the service was extremely attentive and polite. Food was very good, highly recommend.
We have been patronizing this place for years since in our 20's, with gaps in between our visits, and each time we are reminded why we don't fancy this restaurant. Food and drinks are good, but the SERVICE-SERVICE-SERVICE is always consistently a miss, year-after-year! Our business meeting OpenTable rez was secured for 7:30 pm, we all showed-up well before our reservation time, and as usual, we didn't get seated until after 8:00 pm. I now have a reminder to not make the mistake again.
I travel often and I like to explore the hip, the luxurious, and the hidden places of the cities that I visit. The Tower Bar was a new experience for me. I had discovered its existence in an article written about Rothschild and I figured it would be worth a visit. The ambiance was excellent and I received the most wonderful service as I was given a little tour and a brief history of this auspicious building. I will be returning to dine here on my next visit to LA. Side note: the spicy tuna tartare was delicious!
1st visit dining here. My family had a lovely evening, the service was wonderful and the food was simply amazing. Great experience all around. Will dine here again.
Truly like eating out in New York. People are dressed - atmosphere is sophisticated, good menu for everyone to find something - not exotic - solid - traditional - gracious
One of the best restaurants there is, from food to ambiance. A must go. I’m a repeat customer.
I guess 3rd time wasn't a charm for me.

Dimitri is an icon, Gabé is an inspiration, our sever Ashley was wonderful! What a lovely place for a date night out! We’ll be coming back for a peace of new charming experience.
The food is excellent. The wait service is too. What I didn’t appreciate was having made a reservation for dinner at 8 and then being made to wait until 9 to be seated at a table. First they wanted to seat me in the waiting area or the bar on a stool after waiting for so long and I asked what was the point of reserving a table, then. Finally, I got seated and they were apologetic. But still. A reservation at 8 for 1 means a reservation at 8 for 1. At a table.
The Tower Bar Restaurant is always a special occasion for us. This time the strip steak was not up to the Tower Bar standards; it was a little tough and dry. But Gabby was delightful and made it an elegant dining experience.
This place was incredibly romantic and the food was amazing. Drinks were great too, and the staff was beyond friendly, can’t wait to go back!
For this visit to the Tower it was to visit and say goodbye to Ralph the head of security at this iconic and posh eatery where never have we had a marginal meal. In fact over the years the cuisine continues to outshine itself with great dishes serviced by the finest staff in the south land. This wonderful room has been the place of many fine meals with clients and with friends and it has never disappointed. From the fine pianists such as Craig or Chip to servers like Christos, Joel, and others plus bartenders Brett, Zack, George, Victoria and Lindsey it’s like a second home after so many years of wonderful and memorable nights. Jeffrey Klein struck gold with all the wonderful improvements he made to the former St James’ Club which is what it was when I first started visiting this property in 1988. What was once Rex downtown, a venerable and superior restaurant long gone, The Tower Bar is the finest place to eat, drink and have fun
Spectacular service, fabulous “comfort food” and the feel of a posh Private London club. Our favorite “date night” venue!
Horrible experience. We were seated an hour half late, they were out of many dishes on the menu and to get a cocktail while waiting to be seated, was a nightmare. Will never dine there again.
We arrived and we were seated in the new section which was not the happening energetic side i had requested. When we asked to be moved to the correct section we were told other people had a reservation also . We were made to feel unimportant. Ate at the bar ( even w our reservation) it ended up well ( good food great bartenders) but really was sort of a mess with the reservation.
Great vibe, food was excellent but the service was beyond phenomenal!! Definitely going back
A Great Meal, fabulous wines, terrific service, a happy welcome from the front desk, and a nod to The Great Gabby! A 5 Star * Experience. We will be back.
Amazing view and a great food! Reception really good too
It was Thanksgiving and the food was not up to par. Tables too close together so they could not light the fire and waitstaff kept bumping peoples chairs. Beautiful place. Great service. Probably should have ordered off the regular menu.
Was seated in an empty dining room while the other area was busy. Very dissatisfied.
Cool ambiance. Tasty food; good ingredients well prepared.
We were there the other day for a late dinner, the place was very impressive.. so authentic and the atmosphere was superb. Food and wine was exquisite. Only slight negative thing was the noise from the people in the bar..
Great time as usual !
The Tower Bar is a Hollywood classic... chic, sophisticated and the perfect place to enjoy a great meal with friends or coworkers.
My server Christos was exceptional.
Very special spot that evokes old Hollywood glamour.
