The Tower Bar
Metered parking along Sunset Blvd
Beautiful setting outside. Great old Hollywood ambiance (although too dark). Nice service. Everything grossly overpriced for quality. Pleasant but hardly worth the expense.
Service was rushed. Food was average quality but overpriced. Lighting was so dark we needed a torch to read the menu. However, the staff were very attentive. Overall we were very disappointed.
We love the Tower Bar and Dimitri is the best. It's always fun, lively crowd, great people watching and the food is okay.
Delicious food and presentation ration. Beautiful setting and ambience. Staff super friendly and efficient.
Most romantic place in Los Angeles.
It was wonderful!
Classic and consistent. One of my favorite hideaways in LA
The staff hovering non stop was annoying and the food wasn’t up to the standards I’m use to from previous visits
Love it here!!
The best. The service is outstanding. The food is delicious. The ambiance is classic!
One of the best spots in LA for dining and ambiance.
We were put in the secondary room by the pool and thought our reservation was for the main Tower Bar.
We won’t return unless that is where we’d be seated.
The drinks were the most expensive. Food just ok. Pretty place. No value
Lovely view of the city, accompanied by gracious service and delicious food!
Guaranteed good time and good food here always!
A wonderful night out to kick off a wedding weekend. A very special night and Jacob’s service was exceptional.
Tower Bar is an LA Staple. I Always enjoy dinner here.
Loved our experience- the staff were truly exceptional....
As a usual at Tower Bar, tonight’s experience was mediocre. Service was very good but food was sub par.
You can't beat the glamour, but it's too loud & the food took forever.
Always delivers and never disappoints ... Still the coolest bar and restaurant in LA (in my honest, humble opinion).
Love this place, and the new decor is great! Spacious and breezy for breakfast/brunch/lunch with an amazing indoor/outdoor patio by the pool, plus city views. Great menu, excellent service and atmosphere. There's definitely a reason so many become regulars here.
We arrived for our 7 PM reservation. We were the first in the restaurant as we arrived a half hour ahead. I was surprised that instead of the window seat they sat us one table down from the window. I noticed that there were three place settings at the window seat so that was the reason since only 2 of us. They then proceeded about 15 minutes later to seat another couple by the Window seat a few over. Then about 7:30 PM they sat only two people at the window. I was very surprised that they did not sit us there but them.
Nothing to write home about. I had an omelet for 22.00 no side no nothing and it was fine at best. The pool
view is lovely and the service was good. I will not return.
What a horrible experience! A very aggressive security guard confronted our friends who brought in a bottle of cleanse as if we were criminals and at TSA checkpoint. What has this world come to? It's a restaurant! The security guard was so confrontational and looked for a fight pushing my friend (BTW a 67 year old elegant lady) and her son to the brink of a heart attack. For a bottle of juice?? RIDICULOUS. We called the police. All we wanted to do is have a nice quiet dinner. It turned into a disaster. The manager was totally useless. After all this commotion, police etc, they presented us with the bill and not even a sorry. What a joke. Our lawyers will follow up with this place. I am a frequent diner of all the best restaurants in town never seen something like this happen. EVER
Had a resy for Tower. Gave us seating at Terrace: two different experiences as anyone from LA knows. Took two hosts, two servers and a manager to get us to our actual table in our resevation. All tried to sell us on terrance -- its reno, its art , one even told us we were *at*Tower bar. Was able to get moved to the actual restarant eventually.
also a fight broke out
I’ve been here dozens of times and this last time, I got really sick from the food. I ordered the burger. Not sure what happened this time. Overall, the Tower Bar is an exceptional experience as a whole.
Should definitely examine what’s happening in the kitchen.
As always a great dinner and experience!!!
VERY disorganized and dismissive- they simply just don't care
We were a party of 6 there for dinner to celebrate my fiance's bday, which I had noted to them prior. They have you wait by the bar until you are seated and after multiple check in's with the hostess (45 minutes post reservation time) she said we were "next to be seated". I asked if she would be able to find us, as the bar area was crowded, and she assured me she knew where we were and would come get us. Another 15-20 mins goes by and we walk over to check again, where they now realize our table was given away to another party. I explained to them how upset we were as it was an occasion, we were delayed over an HOUR, had some people in the group from out of town that had to get back, and were now starving. There was NO apology in site but simply a, "I know, I know, yeah...yeah...just enjoy your drink and sit down." The drink he was referencing was apart of the round of drinks we had ordered ourselves at the bar the last hour, none of which they offered to comp nor did they do a single thing to accommodate us during dinner. They even forgot that it was a birthday and I had to remind them again after we ordered the dessert so the could include a candle. They simply just don't care.
I am not one of those people to write bad reviews, or even expect much from a restaurant but this was just ridiculous!!! I understand things happen but a single sign of an apology, accommodation or any sort, and/or acknowledgement of the inconvenience should be a minimum- especially on a special occasion.
The food was fine but the rudeness of the people is unacceptable. Definitely don't recommend this place, as there are a TON of restaurants in LA where the food is great, the ambiance is great, and if/when they do mess up...they actually CARE and try to resolve any frustration caused.
Everything was terrific. Great spot for intimate dinner. Tight tables, but made for a fun time getting to know our table neighbors. Can’t wait to go back!
As always, the tower bar was fabulous. Every single thing about thus place is special and magical
Always fantastic and never disappoints! If in LA you have to visit and have the experience!
Excellent food and service in a cool retro atmosphere. Expensive, and worth it. We look forward to dining at Tower Bar again.
Wonderful dinner, perfect in every way, from cuisine to wine to staff. (I was with great company, which always helps) And the hotel staff even glued my broken shoe for me and gave me slippers! A delightful evening. And who can resist a hot fudge sundae?
MY REVIEW ON OPEN TABLE: There are far better choices for fine dining... And trust me, you will pay "Fine Dining" prices here. I had heard that the fried chicken -- which I rarely indulge in -- was extremely good. In a word... Disappointing. It was kinda' soggy. I didn't know it was even possible to make soggy fried chicken. I can only guess they had fried up a large batch well before the evening began, and tried to keep it warm -- not good. My wife's scallops were good, but not awesome -- nothing to complain about really, but nothing to rave about either. Seating was tight and we could clearly hear the conversation of the people next to us -- been there? Not fun. Well sometimes it is, but this was to be a fine dinner. Ever been in one of those places where you sit on a bench seat with a small bistro table between you and your date (one of you sitting on a chair), with others sitting in close proximity on your right and left? Well, this was exactly that for us, and we paid premium $$. Most dishes are well north of $40, apps about $20 each. Prices are very high for the ambiance/seating/food unless you get a premium seat near a window, or a quiet table in a corner. Let's be clear... I'm certainly willing to pay these prices, but in return I want premium seating and ambiance. There are several better choices within 15 minutes drive. We won't be going back.
My favorite restaurant in LA
As always the food was excellent as well as Dimitri taking care of our needs. My only complaint was the waiter not being polished plus he tacked on two extra drinks to my bill, and when confronted with this he was passive aggressive. Despite this anomaly for the Tower Bar, we’ll be back. Thank you.
My favorite place on earth
We've been going to the Tower Bar for years, and it never disappoints - it's always fun! The staff are great the room is lovely (but I would suggest the "up" the lighting a bit, you need a light to read the menu and it's very dark in there when the sun goes down. Demetri is a legend and he's always very charming and makes sure that everyone is well taken care of. He's a gem that's for sure!
Always consistently good!!!
On the day I was there for lunch, the terrace was still under construction and lunch was served in the dining room. We were only one of two parties in the dining room at the time. I remember the food as being good. My waiter highly suggested the lobster tacos, a premium priced dish. When they arrived, both tacos were soggy and I asked to have them returned for fresh shells. The taco was just bland and tasteless and not worth of such a high recommendation by the wait staff. It was disappointing and I could do much better. It was nothing. The fries were good, but not a good compliment to tacos in any way. its just not a culinary match. Lots of carbohydrates and tasteless protein.
Although there were only two parties in the dining room, the wait staff comprised 6 or so people and were very noisy while I was trying to have a business meeting.
