The Tower Bar
Metered parking along Sunset Blvd
Loved our waiter! Every one was lovely!
A great place to have dinner or cocktails in hollywood. Old school atmosphere and excellent staff. Our waiter was very patient with the gluten free and vegetarian in our group. Great cocktails. There was a hollywood event going on at the hotel so it was chaotic but you would have never know by the high level of service we were given. It is noisy venue but overall a fun experience.
We asked when we made the resie to sit near a window. Alas we were 4 and told the table was for 6.
Then they proceeded to seat a table of 4 ... not ok.
The Tower Bar continues to excel on so many levels. The experience created by Jeffrey Klein’s excellent eye and attention to detail, the staff that works so well as a team to accommodate guests, the finest bartenders in the city, Dimitri of course and the menu combined with Craig on piano - it’s the glamour of old Hollywood inside one of the most iconic buildings in the Southland. The selection of fine wines and spirits combined with a Chef whose menu is consistently great is just perfect.
The Sunset Tower Hotel is a remarkable place and the recent renovation of The Terrace Room is perfect for business meals or a night out with friends. The lamb continues to be a standout as well as the Filet. The best Deviled Eggs in town to the point you’ll hear your arteries later and the pigs in a blanket are great!
The beautiful dining room that is so perfectly appointed and a staff that I have known for years never ever lets you down. This is for locals as much as visitors. With the miserable remodel of The Bel Air Hotel a few years ago and the loss of so many good staff there and the Polo Lounge The Sunset Tower is to Los Angeles as 21 is to New York. Going anywhere else will be a disappointment
This is the best venue in the city for great meals or just a cocktail by the pool. Reservations strongly suggested!
Pricey place, not sure if its anything more special than any other place. Food was ok, average. Service was adequate but nothing special. View was nice, but somewhat obstructed and not really a rooftop bar. Outdoor seating was not the most comfortable.
An awesome restaurant in a stunning hotel. The food is delicious and the service is excellent.
The food is consistently terrible.
We went for the view at night but was seated inside under a cold blowing air conditioner. We froze the whole time. We ordered a two curry vegetable dish and it was extremely over priced and not good at all. The ahi tuna salad was not interesting and on wilted greens. Our dinner for one adult and three kids was $300 and not worth it. We tried to take a pic outside and were told to stay away cuz a private table outside. They don’t own the view. I paid the over priced dinner to enjoy the view and it did not happen. I don’t think I’ll be back.
An institution. Impeccable from A - Z.
The newly renovated terrace bar room is a fantastic upgrade. The service is consistently overperforming.
When we are in LA we always try to get to the Tower Bar as the service is spot-on and food is outstanding. We love the sophisticated yet laid-back atmosphere. Always have a great experience. Thanks again!
There was a private event that caused a wait of about a half hour, but the food was worth it. The service was great after that point.
Loved EVERYTHING about this chic and elegant eatery with exemplary service and romantic views over the city. My lambchops were the best I’ve had in years, perfectly cooked to my requested temperature, lobster tacos... heavenly. The Salmon was also perfect.
When we there on a Saturday night, the more mature patrons were well dressed and the younger people who arrive later dress very downscale with ripped jeans and unkept t-shirts. It’s a shame young people don’t mind looking shleppy... it’s a little disrespectful. But that’s the sad trend these days.
Love this experience, although it is $$.
We went to celebrate my husband’s birthday there and everything was perfect! Amazing food, lovely ambiance, great service! And they accommodated a funny special request for my husband’s birthday treat. Thank you so much!
Always fun dining at tower bar!
We had an outstanding evening at the Tower Bar Restaurant. Food and cocktails were excellent and the knowledgeable and caring staff attends to our every need. Can’t wait to return!
Lovely dinner, the food was great and the service was also good. Love the ambiance!
I wanted to go somewhere special to celebrate my birthday and a friend recommended The Tower Bar; it was a great choice! First, the room is beautiful; deco moderne wood paneling and views of the city. The service was impeccable, and all of our meals were fantastic. It was the perfect way to spend my birthday.
Incredible service. They make you feel like family.
Do not come for brunch. Food is overpriced, nothing special, and the service was terrible.
We have been to this establishment many times- this particular evening we experienced average service and average food - the shrimp cocktail presentation was poor - the shrimp were not that cold, firm or that large- I mentioned to our server that we tried the shrimp and didn’t care for them and all he said is, oh, sorry to hear that!
I had a “foodie” friend visiting from Pittsburgh and I was so disappointed we brought her here. So glad we had amazing meals at Craig’s, Nobu Malibu and Tao!
Service was top-notch, professional, very nicely done. While the steaks were excellent quality, they were not exactly cooked to order. The restaurant and menu are in need of an update. “Tired” comes to mind. The wine list was poor: some good labels, but the wines were still “in diapers.” Markups were high for wines far too young to drink. Look to the last page for nice off-price reds: decently priced and with some time in the bottle.
Always love them. They are my favorite. The food is delicious. The service is exceptional. The staff is exceptional.
Simply excellent. Food and ambience excellent with a magical view over LA. Made even better by our outstanding server Matthew.
I love this place; it always makes an outing feel like a special occasion. Therefore I say the following with love: we were left wandering in the entryway way for 10 minutes while a harried hostess and another woman seated other people and assured us as they rushed by that they would be right back. Kind of awkward. Then we waited a while longer for a waiter and longer still for my cocktail to arrive. I ordered oysters and they arrived without an oyster fork; it took a while for us to flag down a waiter once again. And the oysters themselves arrived nameless and tiny — I’m accustomed to the waiter offering some news about their provenance. When I asked, he looked impatient, blurted out something and rushed off. The setting, music, and general ambience, as well as our table in a cozy nook, were delightful as always, and I will return, as I hope that this was simply an off night, and places this stylishly lovely are not easy to find in LA. But ☹️
Beautiful setting outside. Great old Hollywood ambiance (although too dark). Nice service. Everything grossly overpriced for quality. Pleasant but hardly worth the expense.
Service was rushed. Food was average quality but overpriced. Lighting was so dark we needed a torch to read the menu. However, the staff were very attentive. Overall we were very disappointed.
We love the Tower Bar and Dimitri is the best. It's always fun, lively crowd, great people watching and the food is okay.
Delicious food and presentation ration. Beautiful setting and ambience. Staff super friendly and efficient.
Most romantic place in Los Angeles.
It was wonderful!
Classic and consistent. One of my favorite hideaways in LA
The staff hovering non stop was annoying and the food wasn’t up to the standards I’m use to from previous visits
Love it here!!
The best. The service is outstanding. The food is delicious. The ambiance is classic!
One of the best spots in LA for dining and ambiance.
We were put in the secondary room by the pool and thought our reservation was for the main Tower Bar.
We won’t return unless that is where we’d be seated.
The drinks were the most expensive. Food just ok. Pretty place. No value
Lovely view of the city, accompanied by gracious service and delicious food!
Guaranteed good time and good food here always!
A wonderful night out to kick off a wedding weekend. A very special night and Jacob’s service was exceptional.
Tower Bar is an LA Staple. I Always enjoy dinner here.
