Very good for the price point, the rosemary fried chicken on the happy hour menu should be illegal (bc of how good it is). No frills local spot with well prepared southern food. Comfy for everyday dining any night of the week

Salty Sow arguably has one of the best happy hours in town. Ain't nobody sad at Salty Sow! They have excellent happy hour treats like deviled eggs, fried chicken, duck fat fries, chicken liver mousse and a few tacos to choose from. Their cocktails are all unique and tasty. And very strong! They don't mess around. Great prices, lovely atmosphere with a staff that prides themselves on their service and food. Great for a date or small group.

Bryan, our server was amazing! I love the Salty Sow and as always, the food and service were fantastic! So may places have been hurting after the past couple of years and it was so amazing seeing them booked and taking care of their guests like they always have. Love, love, love this place. Could not recommend them more.

Our server was wonderful, I wish I could say the same for the food. It just isn’t that good, and not everything needs something odd to enhance it. The chocolate cake was the star. I’d go back for the cake after I ate somewhere else for dinner.

Service was impeccable and food outstanding. Reservations at HH was a good call! Can’t beat their HH!

Dinner at The Salty Sow was an excellent experience! The charcuterie board was an adventure for your palate. We indulged in the Crisp Chicken Thighs and Candied Pork Belly- both excellent and tender. They have a unique take on Brussel sprouts, leaving them feeling light in your mouth with sweet, buttery flavors. We finished our dinner with the Banana Foster Beignets and were so happy we didn't skip dessert! We will surely visit again in the future!

Overall, salty sow was good! Honestly, it was too cold. They sat us outside in the tent and we were too cold, even with jackets on. That is my reason for low score on ambiance.

Food was great! Drinks were good. One thing to skip - the Brussel sprouts. They were only leaves - no sprouts in site.

Service was odd. Our waiter made it clear he was trying to get us in and out. Took food and drinks away before they were empty and didn’t ask. He pulled on one plate that my friend had her elbow next to while we were in the middle of conversation. Food was excellent, like always, but the service was unpleasant. Last time, a different waiter was loudly overheard exclaiming he couldn’t believe the hostess seated a bleeping walk-in in his section. Not ideal when I’m trying to eat out for a celebration or date night. :(

Service was great and the food was delicious. To make it even better, cocktails and margaritas were exquisite and full of flavor! I love the Happy Hour menu and the restaurant has a nice ambiance!

Family celebration for our daughter’s 18th birthday was a hit with everyone! Delicious food, outstanding service and perfect atmosphere!

First time dining here but always heard good things. Everything was delicious. The only thing that could be done better was the salmon crudo, but we still enjoyed it. I loved how the bread was served warm with the meat and cheese platter. Service was good, we got all our items in a timely manner. Will be back!

It was good! A bit underwhelming. I do not recommend the fried oysters. Drinks were the best part of the meal. Oh, and the dessert too!

It was amazing! Chris was our server and just the absolute best. We had the roast and the red fish and they were to die for! We also had the bananas foster and devoured it!

This evergreen of Austin dining is so good. Sat outside most recently, and the vibe, flavor, service, staff knowledge were all top notch.

Everything was really good. Loved the brussel sprout leaves. Carnitas excellent. Would have given the food a 5 instead of a 4 except for the pork belly was not crispy and carmelized enough. Still good and tasty but needed a bit more rendering.

Christmas Eve dinner

The service was less than optimal. The server from the beginning seemed like he didn't want to be there, nor did he really want to answer any questions. He was grumpy and was trying to rush us to order. I finally had to tell him that we were going to be there awhile. They weren't crazy busy, or I would have understood his rush for everything. Honestly, he was so off-putting.

The food was really tasty. The brussels sprout Caesar was not over dressed. The chicken thigh dish was crunchy and moist. Everyone enjoyed the food immensely.

Great HH menu and excellent wine/beer/bourbon offerings. Food is always tasty and the service is always great.

Interesting, imaginative menu, a thoroughly enjoyable meal. But bring an appetite!

New takes on familiar comfort-food meats, veggies, deserts, and drinks. We shared two salads and 4 all-veggie plates and found them wonderfully tasty and satisfying. Happy hour made the drinks quite affordable. Service was attentive and friendly.

Our food and service were great. Our cocktails came out quickly and the wine list was edited, but had a variety of great choices. Paper menus were made available upon request, which was great. It was a little loud, but that is the only (small) complaint.
