We went for their 'steak night' and got exactly what we hoped for! It was nice and busy and buzzy... so different to how it was before. Great service with a smile.

Always a pleasure eating at The Royal Oak. Good, well cooked pub food with friendly, efficient service. Nice, comfortable atmosphere and convenient opening hours.

Another delicious meal at The Royal Oak. Their British beef is incredibly tasty and tender, whether it be in the form or a burger (one of the best in the area) or a steak. A good choice of menu, affordable wine list, good range of beers, pleasant, comfortable environment and friendly, efficient service. What's not to like?

Pretty standard pub fare but well cooked & presented. Went on a Thursday evening and it became quite noisy late on.It is one big room with no separate restaurant area. Enjoyable but not the place for a quiet meal!

I went to this restaurant Friday 27th after booking through top table and was given a very tiny round side table by a busy door. There were a lot of big tables with big functions on which looked fun and I had my work Christmas dinner there which was very good. However on this night it was awful, we asked the waitress if we could move to another table and she pointed us to another table which was in a better position but we would only have been able to have one plate on the table as it was even smaller than the first table... So we decided to leave...very disappointing

Lovely local bar/grill with a varied and comprehensive menu of gastropub type food and a good selection of wine and beers. The steaks are excellent, as are the burgers (and I'm very fussy about where I eat a burger) and their prawns are succulent and extremely well cooked. I really enjoy going here with both family and friends; the service is friendly and helpful and the atmosphere congenial. In fact, when I was there last week with a friend, there were several tables of ladies obviously enjoying their Christmas dinner night out, which goes to show how popular it is for such events. Simply cannot understand the negative reviews about this place.

Another delicious meal at The Royal Oak. Excellent quality meat, a good selection of meals to suit just about anyone and all fresh, very well cooked and nicely presented. Service always friendly and helpful in a pleasant pub/bar atmosphere.

We were in town for the rugby and finished off the nite with a meal in the royal oak. Service was faultless and I never thought I'd write a review saying how good was a scotch egg! But the food was great. Do it.

Good, generously portioned food, well cooked and friendly service in a bar atmosphere. A broad menu and all-day opening is also a plus. My king prawn starter was succulent and tasty and my fillet steak was melt-in-the-mouth tender with freshly cooked, excellent chips. So full I couldn't eat dessert!
