Great little restaurant loaded with florida troplcal ambiance. We had a quiet table outside away from the live music, which by the way, was fun and lively. Good food. Good service. Good fun.
Have eaten at The Real Macaw two times. Great service and food on both occasions.
Not an extensive menu but everything offered is prepared with care. Excellent as always, our friends were very impressed.
Exceptional food and service.
We had not been to this restaurant in some time and decided to dine there with some friends who had never been there. Most of the evening was fine. There were a couple of exceptions though. Our friend’s tuna tartare had a displeasing taste to it. We waited and waited for our server to come to the table to at least check to see how our appetizers were but she did not come. So I had to get up and find someone to explain the issue to, who was a different server, who was extremely accommodating. They took back the tuna tartare and replaced it with the salmon entree which was delicious. While everywhere else’s food was very good, the service was a definite issue. No one came to check on such minor things like refilling our water glasses, another glass of wine, or just to make sure everything was ok. I think we would certainly return, but I would sincerely hope that they place an emphasis on improving the service.
Love this place! In or out, music or not, the food, service and ambiance is great. Very different from restaurants in Olde Naples. Nice change
Delicious food, best crab cakes I've ever eaten, great service in a funky, old Florida style. My friends from Ct wete entranced. I'll be back.
So disappointed after reading other reviews of this restaurant raving about the food on other sites. I had the duck as did one other guest at our table. She said hers was dry. Mine tasted just ordinary, nothing special. Another one of our table mates had the steak. He also told me it was just ok. It looked really fatty and mushy. Our last table mate had the fish wrapped in phyllo. He thought it was very good. All in all, I thought this restaurant was over-priced, way over-priced for the dinners we received. I have eaten downtown Naples for less money and had better food. Moreover, the noise level is very loud. We could barely hear our conversation. The one positive thing I can say about our evening was that the server was attentive. I will not be going back.
We always enjoy Real Macaw, it has a fun ambiance with good food in a casual setting. David is always professional, attentive and knowledgeable. It’s a favorite for nice casual dining and always enjoy it!
Good tropical theme with steel drum island music. Nice atmosphere. Easy to schedule reservation. Very nice. Food was good. Service was very good.
A quirky upscale restaurant hidden in Naples is a must for your list of places to dine. The Johnnycakes with strawberry butter are amazing, order extra they are that good. I had the Duck and my wife had the fillo dough wrapped Mahi both were delicious. This is a place we will visit again.
Sorry to say that we missed The Real Macaw all season until last night. The food was good and the atmosphere was great. Inside and outside dining and cute neighborhood location. Must try.
Very slow with drink orders and the food also. My brother had fish that he hated. I didn’t like any of their fish on the menu. Very over priced on a lot of items
A neighborhood gem. Busy but relaxed. A good choice for that special occasion or meal. Unique decor. Would recommend to friends.
Fun, funky place with superb food.
This is a hidden gem a bit out of the way from downtown Naples, but the ambiance, service and food make any trip worth it. The menu is limited to what is fresh and available, and the preparation is careful and quick. Great cocktails and a grownup’s wine list.
Loved the funky decor with white tablecloth elegance. Wonderful service. Our party of eight enjoyed a wide variety of offerings and all were delicious. Creative use of flavors. Will be back!
Food and atmosphere was fantastic. A NAPLES hidden gem!
Our first time back in several years and it did not disappoint. Very unique and eclectic restaurant we enjoyed all of it despite the macaws are no longer there.
Chowder and portabello mushroom tower were excellent. Don’t order a pina colada; even the second try was somewhat tasteless.
This is our 3rd time at The Real Macaw this season! Last Friday we took our good friends from Minneapolis. They loved the "Old Florida" atmosphere. They both ordered the seared tuna (at my husband's suggestion) and raved about the quality of the fish and the perfection of the preparation. I had the crispy duck (again!) and loved the sauce. I only wish I could have had the rice with it instead of the mashed potatoes...I should have asked. We shared a slice of the key lime pie. I have it every time because it's not overly sweet and the crust is to die for! the only negative I might mention is that the dining room is pretty noisy. But that's forgivable because the Queen Ann wicker chairs, the colorful dinner ware and the twinkling lights make up for it. The service was a little slow, but understandable considering the crowd. Our servers, however were energetic and charming.
The whole dining experience was delightful and food was excellent-awesome calamari salad!
Quaint place with fabulous food and service! We will be back.!
We’ve been meaning to visit this restaurant for sometime now. Chose a Tuesday evening in the hopes of less diners. There were diners surrounding us. The drinks were special, I loved my Le Vogue! Salads and entrees were above average and the dessert, Key Lime Pie, atmosphere, put the place into the “5 Star” category. We’ll return.
Our dinner, as always at The Real Macaw was very good. I had the mussels for a first course, followed by the duck as a main course. My husband had black bean soup and crab cakes. All were delicious.
Great food. Beautiful decor. Fun music
Two of us had salmon, I had tuna, one other had tuna appetizer. All were excellent. Love this place. We eat here often.
This place really delivered. The evening we went there was a torrential rainstorm and we thought we would probably have to wait as the storm obviously would eliminate some of their outdoor seating. They did an incredible job of reconfiguring tables indoors and it turned out great. We all loved our entrees; I had the duck and it was superb with a very light, tangy sauce and my husband had the MahiMahi and thought it outstanding. Our waiter did a great job particularly given the crowded surroundings; we didn’t lack for a thing. We have always liked this restaurant but after this I am an even bigger fan.
The atmosphere is wonderful, the food is delicious, and the service exceptional. Items that are of particular note are the duck, the mahi mahi in phyllo pastry, the onion soup and the tuna Madagascar all of which are outstanding
We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the restaurant, love the atmosphere and decor. The food was very good, our waitress was not very friendly I thought it might have been because she had too many tables, however it was not that busy and there seemed to be a few people assisting her. May she just had a bad day...
Very good restaurant. If I was to give one negative comment it would be that the menu is too limited. There should be more choices.
As usual our meal and dining experience was great. Our waiter David has taken care of us several times and is always knowledgeable and attentive. We’ll be back. John Z
We sat in the dining room. We enjoyed ourselves. I think the bar during the day would be more fun.
Service was not what we are accustomed to at Real Macaw.
Ordered pork tenderloin got pork loin. Charged more for soup than price on menu.
Seated near rest room when all other. Tables were available.
We have recommended Real Macaw to numerous people in the past. I hope when we go back to have a much better experience.
Waiter was inattentive had to flag him down for water, etc
I was embarrassed to take our friends here. It was all around awful. Outdoor seating was uncomfortable and unkempt as well.
The food & ambiance is outstanding at the Real Macaw. It’s a great hidden gem in Naples.
Really a fun restaurant. Nice atmosphere excellent food and good service. Lots of gluten free options as well.
We will be back .
absolutely first rate delicious! service wonderful. can't wait to go back
Great spot off the beaten path in downtown Naples! Food was delicious, menu was varied enough without offering too many choices. Nice wine selection. Our waiter, Zach, was terrific. Only complaint was that the wine glasses were large and poor quality which can impact the taste of good wine.
We went to the Real Macaw on a chance and were delighted that we did. The food was excellent and we will be returning.
