The Real Macaw Ratings and Reviews
Good food & ambiance. Not much parking & on busy Hwy. entrance confusing- walked away Keough while bar down back steps to another seating area & "whallah"! Service excellent. Quite a jog Friday m Bonita Beach Rd East. Nice music.
We had dinner for at The Real Macaw for the first time and were delighted with the menu, quality of food, and service. Our waiter was very attentive and did a great good of answering any menu related questions we had. We would definitely bring friends back there to dine with us.
Johnny cakes, their signature starter for the table, took 30 minutes to arrive and were raw dough in the middle.....and it went downhill from there. Appetizer and one of 2 entrees were cold and it took nearly an hour to get them. Not the same place we knew and enjoyed years ago. There are better options in Naples for the money.
We enjoy the Real Macaw, but always try to get a table AWAY from the live music. Sometimes that's fun, but when you just want to have good food and good conversation with friends, the music isn't necessarily appreciated. Other than that, the food and ambiance is wonderful. It's got an "island" feel to it.
Everything was great! They had live entertainment, which we weren’t expecting, It was very nice. Tuna Tar Tar was good, Calamari was really good!
2 of us had the Duck, they loved it, the sauce was just perfect. (A little Sweet and fruity very very good) we all tried a piece it was sooooo good. Husband had the Mahi Mahi.... he left the plate clean! I had the filet mignon special, it was 8oz very good just couldn’t finish after the apps but I really tried! All in all, Everything was really great! I would definitely recommend this restaurant, it a great hidden secret. I wouldn’t have found it, if it wasn’t for open table. Great for a fancy dinner with a Caribbean feel. Can be casual or classy. 👍
We will definitely be back on our next visit to Naples!
An interesting restaurant with good food, friendly service, Floridian decor and accommodating staff. While not every dish was outstanding, it was overall very good, fun and festive. I would return and try some of their other specialties. We went on a cold evening in January, therefore there were only two other tables dining.
The food was very good and the waitress was excellent. Our problem was with our table. For some unknown reason we were seated down an alley leading to the kitchen. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, but as this was our first visit, we had no idea of the situation. Why we were seated in such a bad place is a mystery. We were well dressed and make quite a good impression, if I dare say so. It spoiled the evening for my wife, and therefore it spoiled the evening for me, also. Maybe it was because we had booked on Open Table. I'll never know. But this I do know: we own property here and dine out regularly. We won't be back to the Real McCaw. Their action has cost them two customers. Sad
Menu for Restaurant Week caught my eye and The Real Macaw was the Real McCoy! Just ordered one of everything for me and my wife and we shared. Nice bottle of Cote du Rhone to add to the enjoyment. Looking forward to a return visit to enjoy the regular menu.
