The Pelican Club is a contemporary New Orleans restaurant located on historic Exchange Place in the French Quarter. The entrance is via the Bar which overlooks Exchange Place through a wall of arched, wood-mullioned windows and leads into three dining rooms featuring original artworks by contemporary Louisiana artists.

Since opening the doors in 1990, chef and owner, Richard Hughes has offered a diverse menu based in south Louisiana tradition with French, Italian, and Asian influences reflecting the rich culinary culture of the city. Enjoy fresh seasonal specialties including Baked Oysters, Clay Pot “Barbequed” Shrimp, Seafood Martini, Crispy Whole Flounder, Trio of Duck, Prime Filet Mignon and Louisiana Cioppino in its own pot.

The Pelican Club features an extensive wine list highlighting the the regions of California, Italy and France.

Host groups from 20 to 200 for events ranging from cocktail parties and seated dinners to receptions.

    The food and the service were excellent! The only down side of the evening was a table of 8 seated across the room. They were very, very loud. Laughing, raised voices, etc. I thought it was very rude of them not to consider the other guests dining in the same area.

    Very much appreciated that The Pelican Club would receive reservation for one and not automatically offer a table in the bar section. I opted for a three course prix fixe menu and found it to be a great value. The scallops served as an appetizer were very tender and fresh, and the sautéed gulf fish was excellent.

    Pelican Club was recommended by a friend who ate there a month or so ago. The Stuffed Quail was amazing as were the scallops. I would call this place a hidden gem as it is on any main street but in an ally. Nice interiors and atmosphere for a dinner date.

    Had a reservation in the dining room for over a week. They say is in the bar room which I despised , they have a lovely looking dining room but stuck us upfront despite my request to sit at a regular table in the dining room like I noted on my reservation. I did t want to look at drunk dummies outside from the establishment across the way while I celebrated with my family. This restaurant had potential for nice experience but the unprofessional manager who couldn’t sit me in the dining room spoiled my experience and insulted me.
