We were in N.O. To celebrate college graduations. The Pelican Club has been my go to for celebrations.
The food this time was not as exceptional as I had remembered, but good.
One thing I must say, FIX THE BOOTH SEATS!!!! They are TERRIBLE. There is absolutely no excuse for this, and they have been in terrible need of repair for many years.
Time to find a new GO TO for celebrations
Everything was lovely from the service to the outdoor dining to the food. There were so many tasty sounding items on the menu, I opted to get various appetizers for my meal. Everything I ordered was amazing.
The minute isn’t the same as when I last visited. Staff was very good. Food wasn’t as good as in the past as well.
Absolutely extraordinary! Food and service are exemplary. We immensely enjoy our entire experience every time we visit The Pelican Club!
Great food in a wonderful atmosphere!!
The food was not good at all. The bread and scallops were the only items out of our three course menu we enjoyed. Oysters were not freshly cooked, the prime rib was a end cut when ordered medium rare. The lamb chops needed more seasoning. Dessert was meh. For a expensive meal we were highly disappointed.
Excellent Thanksgiving dinner, all 3 courses were delicious, Thank you
Great Thanksgiving meal.
Wonderful food. Bread pudding was the best ever!! Great staff
Excellent service and food!
My second visit to Pelican Club was just as memorable as the first. The restaurant feels rather exclusive because it does not have a street frontage. The service is superb, the wait staff are knowledgeable, and the sommelier was exceptional. I learned something from him before the evening was over. The only complaint I have is the noise level. The background music is loud enough that one has to speak up, and then the hard floor (looks like marble) makes the noise level extremely high when the place gets busy. The interesting art work on the walls do nothing to quiet the reverberation of sound. Still a great place to have dinner and wine.
The restaurant was very nice albeit noisy(and crowded)…we were seated immediately and the service was very good. The menu is kind of limited but , overall, the food was very good and cooked well. We would return perhaps at a different, less crowded time.
Busy restaurant but well managed by the staff. I’m still upset about the Seafood Martini disappearing from the menu.🤪
Disappointing. My scallops still had shell on them (had to spit out the pieces). Everything else was ok - but underwhelming. Desserts (pecan pie and bread pudding) were just ok - the creme brulee was good. Service was fine. Better choices in the Quarter, even for less money.
If you don’t ask to sit in Denise’s section, you’re doing it wrong.
Service and food were excellent! Wil took great care of us. And dirty martini, oysters and fried flounder won me over. Couple next to us ordered the same and also the lamb. All agreed they were yummy. Check Open Table for openings. Yelp said they were closed Tues but they were open for Thanksgiving week. Sat outside. A bit chilly but heater helped and worth it for the ambiance.
Amazing food, service etc.
Great food and service, everyone made us feel welcome even with a baby.
It was great
The wait staff was slow on getting to us (at least to say "Hi I'll be right with you) but the noise really took away from the excellent food. The room we sat in (closest to the street) had brick walls and tile floors and the sound was amplified. There was a drunk woman sitting next to us who cackled when she laughed and it just screeched and echoed everywhere. Maybe some plants or carpets or something could be added. We'd likely go again but only if we could be guaranteed not to sit where we sat.
It was the best piece of fish (sheeps head) I ever had.
The Pelican Club provides a warm and cozy ambiance with dimly lit rooms and wood decor that give a luxurious vibe. The waiters were all so genuinely kind and attentive. The food was delicious, I ordered the whole fish as well as the steamed pork buns and pecan pie with coffee. It was the perfect series of dishes that capped my night perfectly.
Delicious food in a nice atmosphere , all at an affordable price. Never felt hurried. Everyone had a smile ( hard to find sometimes !) Would recommend to anyone wanting a nice meal in the quarter.
The meal was amazing, no Covid shortcuts! TJ, our waiter, was a delight and very professional.
Great meal and attentive service.
Wonderful food and prompt professional service. The $49 3 course is a great deal. Good wine choices. Outside seating worked well for our covid conscious group.
Fabulous and ask for Denise as she made the night !
Excellent Service, food and ambience. Bread pudding was my favorite.
Awesome awesome awesome!!!
Everything was great as usual, except that this time we were seated too close to the couple at the next table making it difficult at times to carry on a confidential conversation. It was particularly annoying since there were numerous other tables available.
We still had a wonderful dinner though.
OUTSTANDING EVERYTHING. Food, ambiance, price, and service. Staff knowledgeable and timely, panèed fish with crab and hollandaise topping and rack of lamb with a DIVINE mint-demi sauce. 3-course for $49+ pp is the way to go. Plenty of food in the servings.
One of our favorite NOLA restaurants when we visit !
The 3 course meal is a great value and the food never disappoints! I had an incredible “sheepshead” fish dinner that I would order again. Delicious! And the pecan pie was great!
Wonderful hospitality and food!!
What a wonderful meal and service!!!
excellent food and service. Wait staff helped with meal selection, and they checked in without being intrusive. The Sommelier chose an excellent wine for us to go with both dishes. Pre-fixe was worth it.
3 course meal waa excellent!
Eric made our experience here more pleasant than we expected!
