The Mill House applies an innovative approach to fresh, local ingredients in dishes that honor the cultures of those who emigrated from Japan, China, Spain, Korea, Portugal, and other distant lands to work in Maui’s sugarcane industry a century and more ago. All dining areas pay homage to Maui’s sugarcane history with reclaimed and restored pieces from the area’s now closed sugar mills.
When you make a reservation with The Mill House space is set aside at an indoor table for your comfort. Upon arrival, guests are seated in one of our four dining areas, with varying types of ambiance, and all open aired.
While the views from the lanai can be stunning, it is important to note that the weather varies. Swings between hot sunlight and cool breezes or rain are possible, making seating for this space unpredictable.
The location is great and so was the food.
With that said, I was pretty bummed as we were celebrating my wife's birthday and I called ahead and ordered a dessert with candle and all that to be brought out after dinner as a surprise. They brought out dessert menus so I figured they forgot, we finished up and asked for the bill. Seeing it was on the bill, they then awkwardly brought one out but it just felt like an afterthought.
In the end, I would go there again as the food was really good but I don't think I would go to celebrate anything as my advanced requests were basically forgotten until the meal was over. *With the exception of the host who said happy birthday when she sat us.
When I made the reservation, I added our allergies. They were prepared for them as soon as we sat down—I didn’t even have to bring it up. Everyone who worked there went above and beyond for us. Such a great experience.
Great view and beautiful, cool place. Service very good but food is just so-so and pricey for what you get.
Our experience at the Mill House was exceptional. Food and service were both much better than we expected. And, very unique location, history and ambiance. Would definitely recommend.
Had a fabulous 60th birthday dinner with my husband! Ryan was our server and was exactly what you’d expect at a
fine dining restaurant. We love the restaurants that do farm to table!
Eaten here many times, hands down 5 star, got new chef and all the little things that put you on the map in Maui, Gone. Attention to detail Gone. Loved having French press with dessert, desserts have became Bla-bla-bla. Bartender staff still on Q!! Waiters are clueless, not how it was 1 year ago, so sad
This place was recommended by a stranger. I was not disappointed. Delicious food, neat atmosphere, and wonderful views.
The seafood curry dish was outstanding! The hot rosemary rolls were also delightful.
Great place to dine. Just wish I had gotten there when it was still light as there are so many things to see on their grounds. Food was delicious and service great!
The food and atmosphere were great! The service by Jacob was outstanding! We’ll return on our next visit to the island!
Decor is interesting and adds to the experience. Tables on the mountain side have a fabulous view. Waiter was good, but tended to hover at the table. Sommelier was fantastic. He spent a lot of time asking what we preferred in a wine before making a recommendation and it was spot on. Food was terrific, but the includes sides were very small. That and the prices dropped the ranking for value, but we will return for the view.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us, Bruce. We are pleased you enjoyed the view, sommelier recommendation, and the flavors of the dishes. Aloha!
Enjoyed a delicious farm to table experience in the most beautiful setting. This venue is amazing in every way - the service from start was great as the server gave us the table we requested. We had great menu suggestions for our vegetarian palette and I’d recommend the eggplant dish for sure! Highly recommend this as a half day outing or a stop enroute to the airport.
Fantastic recommendations! Mahalo for taking the time to share your visit with us.
Thank you for stopping by!
Our server was great and the food was good. We liked the setting but it was very expensive for what you got.
Mill House was a wonderful place!! The food was tasty and service was superb! The environment was very beautiful and welcoming! Thank you!
Food was innovative and every dish we had was well done. Dining room is large and tables well distributed to minimize background noise. The grounds surrounding the restaurant are beautiful. If you haven't been there go about 30 minutes before reservation to walk around the gardens. Martini's were a little small though.
This is the 2nd time went to Mill House. The 2nd time did not live up to the 1st experience. The reasons are because of poor pacing. We were served appetizers before we even received our drinks. This was way too rushed. We were just about finished in 35 minutes.
The food was excellent and the atmosphere and view fantastic. Highly recommend.
Daniel was great. Food was great. View was great.
Waiter Daniel was great — wanted to pork meal however their delivery didn’t show up the day I eat at the Old Mill House!
Thank you for sharing, Mike!
Exceptional service and food
Loved this location
The food was creative and great!!
Simply amazing in every way
Service was great, views were amazing, food was good. I would definitely return and recommend to a friend.
Mahalo for the recommendation, Jess!
We were there for Happy Hour. This is a go back to for us!
This is great news, Karen. Mahalo!
Great place, great food. Love the ambience and views. A must do.
If it’s a cool evening, bring a jacket or sweater. Dining room is open air and can be drafty and cool. Mushroom croquettes are a must have. Agnolotti with shrimp was also a winner. Excellent attentive service.
We're happy the Ali'i Mushroom Croquettas and Agnolotti were highlights of your meal! Thanks for joining us.
Felt like seating in an overflow area even though we had reservations. Fish was over cooked and dry. Manager gave us a gift card to return again
Upon arrival, guests are seated in one of our four dining areas with varying types of ambiance. We hope to get the opportunity to host you on our patio, depending on the weather and flow of service. Mahalo for sharing, Cathy!
Our first visit. Loved the menu. Loved the server. Loved the whole experience.
Mahalo for sharing the aloha!
