The Majestic Restaurant continúa con la tradición de Kansas City de combinar excelente comida y jazz.                 Every expectation was met. Food was amazing, service was friendly and attentive. Great experience. Will be returning.

                We had a 6:00 pm reservation, so the restaurant wasn't very busy. The piano player was already performing and he was excellent. The waiter came right over and explained the menu to us. We ordered drinks and the waiter said to order our meal now too. We ordered 2 strip steaks. The waiter spent the next few minutes trying to convince us to get more expensive entrees. I explained that I wanted the strip steaks that Kansas City was famous for. He said he never heard of that. I ordered my martini with a cap full of white vermouth. The waiter brought over my drink and then he came over a minute later and poured a cap full of vermouth into my Martini and stirred it with a tooth pick. I told the waiter i was surprised by that approach. He came back a few minutes later and took my drink away and had it shaken. I was taken aback by the waiters conduct, but I didn't want to spoil my wife's experience. As we started to sip our drinks out came the salad and immediately thereafter our steaks. I explained to the waiter that this was unacceptable. He said he would put our steaks under a heat lamp until we were ready. I explained that I didn't want to have a steak with the surface dried out and no crust. The waiter did it anyway. When we finished our drinks and the steaks were brought out, sure enough, after 20 minutes under the heat lamp, the surface was dry and chewy with no crust at all. I sent it back. Immediately out came another steak, who knows how long it was sitting under the heat lamp. It was fair at best. We were very dissappointed. One other odd thing occurred. Each time the steaks came out the waiter asked each of us to cut our steaks in half, so that he could see the center. Of course, I wouldn't do that. My wife and I are retired and we travel extensively through the county and in Europe. We eat at many high end restaurants. All-in-all, it was a very unpleasant evening.

                Unlike many restaurants that have a hard time really hitting "medium rare," The Majestic was perfect. The live piano music was very nice. Conversation was easy at our table, towards the rear of the Main Dining Room (live music is near the entrance).

                The service was amazing and the food was even better. The food came out quick and it was the best meal I have ever had! The environment was fitting, and the piano was a great addition. I would definitely recommend to anyone staying in the KC area!
