Always great background music, nice waiter good portions of tasty food . Great before or after a movie
Great food! Parking was validated as well! Loved the ambiance and the natural lighting
There was 1 server that had to cover the entire restaurant.
Service was awful because of it.
Service was outstanding. Our server bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. Flatbread pizza was very good. Salad was made for one in our party with the lettuce of choice. We were all happy.
Waited 35 minutes for coffee, there was no silverware on the table and the orders were off
Clearly short staffed due to Halloween and hiring problems I suppose, so no one there to greet us or seat us or take or orders for a while. But our server was great once he had time to help us and he got us what we wanted in plenty of time to see the movie we came to see.
We used to love coming to the Lot because we could get a nice dinner and then head in to see a movie. However, our restaurant experience was not as good as it has been in the past. There was some kind of business function that took over half the restaurant. It was loud and very distracting. Our server was nice, but vey slow. It seemed all the servers were working the party, leaving one guy for the dining room. I was also disappointed in the menu. If you didn’t want an appetizer, salad, or flatbread, you only had 9 dinner choices (2 of those were burgers). Considering the cost to eat here, it would have been nice to have more choices for a proper meal.
Service was terrible. Unexcusable really because there were only two other tables. The food is good, but we didn't get to eat it at our table because we had to go to our movie. If you have a movie to watch after dinner, give yourself at least two hours at the restaurant.
The food was blah and expensive. The service horrible. Too bad, so convenient after a movie!
I went on 10/9/21 , to watch a movie and I was literally in the bar for 20 min waiting for someone to take my drink service. I was really disappointed on this since the father of my kids company did this place. UBG Inc
We had the worst service we have ever experienced. Our server Roberto F. was training someone named Simon and the trainee was way better than our server. He did not introduce himself just came up to our table and said why do you want to drink, then are you guys ready, then we had to ask for utensils. When he asked, “Do you want your check?” He brought it back couldn’t find a pen, and pulled out a bag of dog treats from his apron. It felt like we were in a complete joke. The pen didn’t even work that he gave us. He didn’t know anything about the menu, they actually changed their menu so much they no longer have any of the delicious dinner options like they used to only cheap food like chicken tenders and flatbread but it was all pretty pricy. They no longer have ice cream for dessert only key lime pie and cheesecake.
2/3 of the way through the movie it shut off and we had to wait over 20 minutes for them to figure it out and fix it they never even offered compensation or drinks while we were waiting. It was overall the worst experience we have ever had. Unfortunately, we will not be back! They have completely dropped the ball at The Lot.
Limited And expensive menu. Restaurant was uninviting!
Food was marginal and overpriced. Jass quartet was great and the general ambiance was very nice. There were very few people in the restaurant.
Wanted more real food options, especially meat.
Great atmosphere and reasonable prices . Service was very good ! Highly recommend
Our server Josh was very attentive and friendly !
2 coffee orders came wrong. Avocado toast was not toasted and a disappointment. The other orders were fantastic- chilaquiles and pancakes were perfect. Server was attentive and manager was present and helping us and other diners- closed windows because it was a little to cool.
Everything was amazing!
Worst service I have had at a restaurant in a long time! We waitied 40 minutes for our check after we gave the server our credit card. The table of 8 next to us were so frustrated, they got up and left! Food was mediocre. Will not return. The Point Loma site is just as bad!
The menu is very limited and lacks creativity. Basically glorified bar food.
The ambiance has a lot of potential with high ceilings and a great patio area and conversational seating areas. However the food and service don’t measure up.
Our service was extremely slow. It took well over 10 minutes to get our credit card back after given to the server to process payment as one example. This was our second time here. First time we were underwhelmed with the quality of the food but thought we’d give it a second try. There are so many great dining choices in La Jolla. This is not one of them.
I Arrived at the lot fresh with excitement after I got a new iPhone I figured there it would be hard to top this so I went to the lot with high expectations soon after everything took a turn for the worse there was no one there to seat us they simply said take whatever you would like so we did sell expecting their service to follow close behind however we waited 20 minutes for anyone to even notice us and take our drink orders meanwhile at the same time a group that I come in 10 minutes after us was seated and had already taken their order as our meal progressed I suggested we watch a movie having 30 minutes to eat would be fine I assumed but to my surprise with much aghast the food took 30 minutes to just make it to the table so it arrived right as our movie was starting and added complications that made me want to leave house we figured it was fine because we could eat in the theater however upon inspection of our food we noticed that the chicken sandwich was Aamir nugget paying $14 more than a kids meal a kids meal gets three tenders I was served a lousy half and it was wrong as Gordon Ramsay would say I cannot serve this but you guys did we immediately sent it back and simply told them to bring it to our theater however just to fix the chicken on the sandwich took an extra 30 minutes being distracted from the movie I tried to inspect my service again but there was no light so who knows if the quality had even improved and because the food took so long to get to our table in the first place we missed the first part of the movie so thanks a lot for that Trulia same weight as a visitor to La Jolla I expected so much more and to make up for the lousy service request free movies for life
great place for a family brunch for 8! Quiet, attractive and spacious.
Very average. Looking forward to an expanded menu and fuller staffing.
Father’s Day. Movie and lunch. Food was burgers and fish and chips. Not like before Covid when they offered scallops and more upscale menu. Hope that they can bounce back and put some real food back on their menu soon.
Our waiter was great, but we waited at the entrance for a couple minutes while a host and a few servers walked by,no asked to help us. I was able to see where our reservation was and sat ourselves per their seating chart. They were not short staffed by the looks of things. Food was fine, but nothing special.
As it was Mother’s Day I assume that’s where the issues begin. Our family was enjoying the quality time so we weren’t too attentive to the time for our food to come out. What was disturbing is the quality of the food. My sons fish & chips did not appear or taste fresh. My son loves fish so this says a lot as he would not touch it. My dad’s salmon was beyond undercooked. I get it’s a seared style but the salmon was not fresh. For safety reasons should have been cooked a lot longer. My husband and i asked for my burger to be well done. Sadly both our burgers were still pink & a tad bloody. We did not complain about the food as we did see the restaurant was struggling with their other customers.
I will say the service is impeccable. Manager came out to apologize for the length of time it took for our food. Issues were remedied with a percentage off the tab, free mimosas & dessert along with free movie tickets.
Overall because quality is important to me I will not be returning to this location. I believe this place has a lot of potential but with that will need a lot of improvement. I do wish them the best of luck. I’ve been to the Liberty Station Lot and had a much better experience with the quality of food.
Beautiful space, great food and attentive and professional staff!
I would come back to The Lot!
Great food and seevice
Really great space. Perfect happy hour open setting. Cocktails are great. Staff is attentive.
The Service we had was slow to start, but that quickly changed; once we got our food. The tasty food certainly made up for that slow start.
The calamari and charred peppers were wonderful. The meat and rice in the Korean Bowl did not taste fresh. It tasted as if they had been cooked in advance. The portion was small as a dinner entree. The Crackling Chicken sandwich was covered in mayo, though that was not mentioned on the menu. Would prefer not to be surprised with extra ingredients that are not listed.
The serviced was excellent, the bar staff customized some Whistlepig old fashioners that were perfect! I didnt know that your venue showed films on the outdoor projector. My date and I absolutely loved watching Singing in the rain while sipping some wine.
the restaurant is dirty. they clean the tables but not the floors. when we complained we changed tables. still dirty. the restaurant was mostly empty. we want to support this business. but this is sheer laziness and neglect. the ought to be super scrubbing. but no.
I love the lot. The only thing that I didn’t like is when I told our captain that the my capuchino was cold, he just warm it up in the microwave instead of make another one 😖
On the other hand, They need more servers. Two for the whole Lot was way too much!
Casual easy ambiance for simple gay together
Excellent Mexican fiesta
Good food, nice place and easy parking.
Our reservations were absolutely MEANINGLESS!
A black man & oriental woman were occupying 2 of the best tables when we entered and I inquired of them whether 1 table was available.
Salt & pepper lied to us & management did NOTHING about it.
We MIGHT go back for a date night movie but never return to the restaurant/bar.
Overall, I can't recommend it.
Food, service, and location was great. Highly recommend
A stylish and inviting atmosphere with a beautiful outdoor area. Good food, great service. Loved it and will be back.
