The Living Room Restaurant
We have coined the term “Contemporary Interactive Cuisine” as our concept at The Living Room. We define this as an expanded twist on classic French and Italian cuisine with a distinctive Canadian touch.
We feature a selection of appetizers and entrées that follow our philosophy of interactive cuisine. Our staff are always eager to facilitate food and wine pairings, as exemplified by our 4-course chef's tasting menus by Chef de Cuisine Cody Fummmerton & Sous Chef Guillermo Hernandez.
By offering our classic and seasonal menus featuring exceptional fresh and local products, we strive to maintain our status as one of Calgary’s premier restaurants.

The food was fantastic - we chose the Chef Tasting and were not disappointed.
The chef's tasting was great and they nailed the wine pairing. Best tartar I've had in a long time. Service was fantastic. We had a lot of fun.
Amazing food and amazing service. Was a little bit loud. Overall great place for date night or catching up with friends.
Service was amazing and food/wine pairings and price were far beyond exceptional, great evening.
Spectacular food, welcoming staff. It was a fabulous experience.
Great food. Great atmosphere. Great service.
Loud loud loud. To the point we could not hear each other. Food was ok. But not for the price. Not going back,
My wife and I celebrated our 17th anniversary at Living Room restaurant last night. . It was our first time there. We enjoyed every minute of it! The food was super delicious and the waiter was super professional! Will definitely go back again!
Everything was excellent. The famous LR beef tartare did not disappoint. The service was great and our food came out quickly. We will be back!
The oysters were absolutely delicious as well as the Haddock.
Great dining experience… Had a great birthday with my girlfriend!!
Beef tartare was off the charts - best I've ever had in my life!!
Great food, and patio is nice, however 17th Ave brings in some colourful characters which can be distracting.
The Living Room is an excellent spot for business dinners and for personal nights out with my Wife. If ever asked, I point people to this restaurant without question as my favorite spot in Calgary.
The fondue is terrific and just enough to share between two people. The banana cheesecake is incredible and a must to finish the meal.
Wasn’t too busy. Fondue Thursday was amazing and great in value. It also wasn’t too loud.

Ask for Bal as your waiter and ask Scooter aka justin, about anything you need to know about the place.
Never disappointed at The Living Room, the food is delicious!
Considering how busy the restaurant was, the noise level was very good. Not too loud or quiet. Our server was so incredibly nice and gave some great suggestions. Would recommend to anyone.
I went to the Living Room with my wife on Friday for dinner. Great location. Good staff. Good service. Horrible menu with very very limited selection. We ordered two cocktails and couldn’t choke them down. They tasted like cough syrup. I asked for our bill without ordering a meal or finishing our drinks. They did not ask why. We got up and walked next door to Lulu and had a fantastic meal and drinks. If I was managing this place I would have a serious look at my ability to lead a restaurant.
We opted for the Chef’s Tasting menu and it was fabulous. Everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly! Our server was attentive and friendly but not obtrusive like so many servers can be these days, one of the best servers we’ve had in a long time. Will definitely go back again as this proved to be a wonderful dinner for our 9th wedding anniversary
Fondue is good for the money. Server was nice, not rushing us at all. Manager/male servers only paying attn to young, cute female customers which was quite off-putting.
Patio was beautiful.
Celebrated our 13 anniversary and everything from start to finish was terrific.
That tartare and cheese fondue... ridiculous
This was an awful experience . I had been wanting to go here for years as it’s a really adorable little restaurant .
We went a year ago just for drinks and were not served so we left . I figured it was a busy night so it wasn’t a big deal .
This year was our 5 year wedding anniversary and we made a reservation .
When we arrived the host placed us outside . He didn’t ask if we wanted to be inside or outside . He then told us he would get us a wine menu . He never did .
The server was never told we were there . We sat at our table without menus or water for 20 mins before we finally got up and asked a server for help .
When we finally got service we were starving . We ordered a bottle of wine and an appetizer . It took forever to get our wine and our food .
Our server kept going to all his other tables and never came to check on us .
We ordered the cheese fondue as our appetizer . We were never told how to turn it off or asked if we enjoyed it .
Our cheese ended up burning because we couldn’t figure out of to turn off the flame and no one came to check on us .
After serving us our fondue our server never came back .
I went to find the manager . Turns out the manager was the man who had seated us , didn’t get us menus , and never told our server we were there .
When I explained to the manager that our service had been awful and that we would not be getting meals there he gave me attitude and told me it was a busy night.
Our reservation was at 8:30 pm and the inside of the restaurant was almost completely empty. All the other tables were getting drinks constantly and our server kept going to them.
The manager brought us our bill didn’t speak to us the whole time and walked away without saying goodbye after I didn’t tip .
After we went and got dinner somewhere else . I will never be going back .
Our evening started out fabulous. Great food and our server was excellent. We’ve had him before and he is so pleasant. What we hoped would be a romantic evening ended up being cut short due to another employee that left us feeling uncomfortable and wanting to leave. Best to keep your discussions about staff behind closed doors.
Wow, had a great birthday dinner at the livingroom tonight. The prices were very reasonable! The drinks are pricey however they do use premium liquor. My favorite out of the 3 dishes was the mussels they were unreal and only $8!!! A must try drink is the shaft its paired perfect with dessert. I also had the rum and it was 👌 We will be back soon 😊
I did put on the reso that we were celebrating a birthday but they didn't acknowledge it at all. A little disappointing however the over all experience was great
We came here from Canmore for our first wedding anniversary/ 10 year anniversary and we were NOT disappointed!!! It was such an awesome meal and our server Justin was amazing!! Top notch guys top notch !!
Great service by Ty. Great place for a date night. Food was delicious!
Staff was unfriendly. Scrutinize your bill to make sure it’s what you ordered because they tried to charge us for a 9oz glass of wine when we ordered a 6oz.
The patio is nice, large & lively. We were able to sit on the patio on the condition that we would be gone by 8pm as that table had been reserved. To our knowledge, the patio is first come, first served however we were ok to leave before the time noted. We went for happy hour and were surprised at the limited food and drink options. The food was just ok. The wine list is ok. Our server was ok. Overall there are more inspired places to venture to on 17th ave.
Rude servers/management and very tired dark and dingy. Food was alright but pricey. Not worth going here. Many other options.
Excellent food and great server. Will definitely return. There's a reason this is one of the few restaurants on 17th to last as long as it has.
Yes. It’s pricey but worth it. Service food and ambience were excellent.
Very interesting and unique food. Good service. Only issue was a very noisy table beside us. We could not have a conversation. The staff should have intervened.
First time there. Will definitely be back, everything was really good.
Michael and his staff were amazing! From the moment we were greeted they took our coats and also offered us a glass of bubbles!
The food and wine was great! It got a little loud towards the end but we understand it was 11pm on a Friday night.
Definitely will be coming back for their fondue, pork cheeks and sausages again!
The Living Room had a great ambiance and our Server, TY, was amazing! It was his third day on the job and you would've never known! His training was very well done - but TY, you get the credit too for clearly enjoying your job!! Thanks Living Room - definately see us again!! ~The Red Head and The Blonde - Oprah Winfrey night.
Enjoyed the energetic vibe and the grazing through a variety of share plates recommended by our server!
Quick stop for happy hour on the patio. One of the best patio’s on 17th Ave!
