The Lakehouse - Mandeville
Thank you all. Great 19 th anniversary
We had an amazing time! The food was excellent and my mimosa was never empty! Great atmosphere with excellent service. We will definitely be back!
My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary last night and our meal was perfect! 6 years to the day we got married at the Lakehouse and we wanted to remember that night. The energy and atmosphere at The Lakehouse is incredible and especially when the weather is nice. My steak was perfectly cooked as was my wife’s fish which was then loaded with crab meat on top. We ordered the scallops and oysters as appetizers and they were delicious as well. But most importantly my wife and I enjoyed a fabulous meal on a beautiful night on the lakefront. I would strongly recommend The Lakehouse to anyone...you won’t be disappointed!
The Lakehouse Salad was very tasty. The Veal Osso Bucco cut with the fork. Root veggies were a nice touch. The Bouillabaisse was flavorful and loaded with seafood. Definitely not French portions. Bread pudding, wow ! Will be coming back soon.
Celebrated my wife’s birthday with an excellent dinner at The Lakehouse! The service was excellent, the food delicious and the ambiance was very nice.
We sat inside right by the front window and had a gorgeous view of the sunset over the lake. Our waitress was very attentive and informative. We both had steaks that were perfectly prepared and the sides were great. They had a half price special on bottles of wine under $40 and we took advantage of that deal!
This was the third or fourth time we’ve dined at The Lakehouse and it’s been a great experience each time. My only concern is there has been very few other patrons in the restaurant when we were there. I hope more people get out and enjoy this terrific little place!
Great place to have brunch with friends. Very satisfied with food and service!!!!
Cozy and relaxing. Went on a Saturday night and there was a two man band playing classical music. Great for a date night or small group.
We were able to sit out on the balcony overlooking the lake. Eli was a perfectly attentive waiter. I had the amberjack and my friend had shrimp tacos. Both were well prepared and lightly seasoned, hardly salted, which is the way I like food. I always enjoy the Lakehouse.
For a group of 5 ladies, the buffet and bottomless mimosas were excellent! The only thing is we felt like they sort of stopped coming around after we had been there a while, which I completely understand. But at a certain point we just wanted the check and our server was nowhere to be found. But food was better than I expected for a buffet. And they had a few different choices of “mimosas” (sparking wine with...OJ, pineapple, cranberry, etc). Overall very good experience!
Really good food for buffet. So crowded and very hard to maneuver with plates of food. Tables too close. No place to walk to get from buffet tables to your own table.
Waiter was great and enjoyed the food and live music. Perfect for our special occasion.
We have been several times. The food is always excellent. Great views of the lake from the front porch. Both lunch and dinner are delightful. Highly recommended.
Great place. Great food, service and atmosphere. Everything was perfect.
Great food, great service!
Very nice setting. Food was pretty good with somewhat limited selection for Sunday buffet, possibly because a lot of seating is squeezed in. Service is top notch. Best thing on menu is corn & crab bisque.
Great food, service & ambiance. We dined outside and it was perfect. We will be back.
Excellent. All around
Great service! Kyle was great! The food was great, large variety. Will return
Such a fun place to have a birthday brunch with friends!
We had a great meal with great company along with outstanding service.
Always a positive experience. Looking forward to next dinner.
We had a fabulous time for brunch at the Lake house. The mimosa's were never ending and the food was fresh and fabulous. The only problem was that the band was too loud. We couldn't hold a conversation until they took a break.
We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was absolutely amazing. Our server was very attentive- glasses always full! We will definitely be returning!
Great views of the sunset
This restaurant we have visited on a couple of occasions, widely spaced apart in time. It is invariably disappointing. The location of the property is great; right on the shoreline of Lake Pontchartrain. Once you enter the restaurant, you notice the odor of what seems to be mold. This building is quite old and over the years, always has had this musty odor for some reason. The decor of the interior is nice enough, particularly if you sit by a window. Service on this occasion was quite good; friendly and reasonably efficient. It's the food that is never what it should be. The restaurant obviously aspires to French or Creole French/Seafood but always falls short. The sauces on the meat, in particular, seem to be an attempt at something original but just doesn't taste right. I'd suggest, stick to traditional recipes. The fish I had was mushy and under-cooked. The "herbed potatos" that came with it - underneath the fish - was not what I expected; a mashed potato mush with no taste other than what mashed potato normally tastes like. The meal was moderately expensive, but just not worth the money. I wish it were otherwise, because of its traditional location and ambiance but I cannot. It is no more than a two star and the value just isn't there.
Excellent dinner. The scallops were excellent! Loved the jazz singer.
The steak was good but it was stacked on top of fries, the boubillabase was ok but had high sodium on the side of lumbcrab meat, I suspected it was out of can, if this was the case it should have been rinsed of sodium.
Enjoyed everything but it was so loud, we had to shout at each other.
Chef Pete' tripletail on watermelon was spot-on.
Truly enjoyed the food- drink and ambiance!~
Everything was excellent. We had a beautiful view of the lake at sunset, our server was phenomenal and the food was outstanding. The value was great. Will definitely be returning.
The service we received by Lori was amazing. She was attentive and very knowledgeable about the food and wine.
This is the BEST place to have brunch in Mandeville. The food options were tremendous, from pesto pork, asparagus crab soup, to scrumptious eggs benedict with a twist! The bottomless mimosas were truly bottomless, and my husband and I had a very nice relaxing brunch. The ambiance was fantastic, and we loved the live jazz band playing too! We are going to make this a regular thing we do every month!
This was the best meal we have had so far. As always, wonderful view and atmosphere. We will be back.
I would recommend this restaurant, but would warn people of the noise level and the long wait for our meal to arrive. My friend loved her Brie and Crab Sandwich. My burger was a bit dry, otherwise it it was tasty. The seating doesn't seem to be well arranged to make the best use of the view, or the space. It's minimal decor could be designed to be very attractive.
We love the Sunday brunch! Great atmosphere and good food and great service!
Deliciousness! Best Sunday brunch hands down. Huge variety. Just a bit too noisy. Hard to have a decent conversation without yelling.
Some of the sweetest wait staff! Did not rush us at all, even though we were done with our brunch. Delicious food for brunch. A couple of things were a bit too salty, but that may just be my opinion. Overall, really enjoy and would come back.
Outstanding outdoor Birthday experience, great food & service and atmosphere!
