nice time had by all - very attentive and friendly staff
Wife’s birthday brunch and then staff made us feel super. Even able to swap out choices for my 11 year old son and sent a small cake and candle for my wife as a surprise.
We were sitting in the first room as you get in and it was quite noisy plus at some point they turned on the air conditioning so it became quite cold.
Food was really good and service amazing.
Excellent as usual, never disappoints, service with a smile
Had the smoked salmon and crab starter, absolutely loved it.
Really enjoyed our meal in the garden section of the Ivy Chelsea (it is heated and under a temporary roof) - it's really cute and beautiful as surrounded by plants and the tables are well spaced apart.
Always a pleasure to have lunch at Ivy Chelsea.
Lovely ambience, attentive waiters and elegant surroundings.
Food always excellent and well presented. Highly recommended!
Lovely venue, amazing food and great ambience.
My main comment would be that the main course arrived within minutes of us having our (aperitif) drinks delivered to the table, we thought we would have a Gin to start and then order wine with the meal. As it was, we'd barely sipped the gin when the food arrived and felt that we couldn't then order wine as we'd have had to have downed the gin in record time. The Ivy missed a sale here, slow down a little, let the diners enjoy an aperitif, then let them look forward to a leisurely main course and a nice bottle of something to go with it. The food was amazing by the way1
Also a comment about the optional service charge- the lady taking the payment quibbled about 53p and said we had to pay all of the service or nothing???- we had paid about £20 service as it was, split the bill and there was 53p over..what is the deal about the all or nothing? Sorry but optional means just that..I felt a little railroaded for something trivial.. it shouldnt have to be like this..
Love this place, only ever bern st lunch time but feel it is reasonably priced for 3 courses. Nice surroundings a d attentive staff.
Friendly staff. Feels like you are paying 15% of your bill for the decoration.
I would strongly recommend the Ivy Chelsea Garden for the set Tea, very good and good value.
However, the Ivy Hamburger was a real disappointment, tasteless quite frankly. I will still return but choose something else.
Fantastic food as always and the staff are so attentive and warm
They do what do very well. Always reliable for very lovely food in a lovely setting.
Great ambience, great food and great service. Even got a small dessert for my birthday free of charge!
Restaurant has a lovely atmosphere , busy and convivial. We had to wait a while for our drinks - the delicious zucchini fritti arrived before the drinks. They were complemented perfectly by the yoghurt ++ sauce. My husband said his Margarita was the best he had ever drunk in his life. It was amazing on the palate. Starters were excellent. Tuna carpaccio was exceptionally flavoursome and steak tartare very good. Shepherd pie was excellent. The chicken Milanese, complemented by Parmesan, rocket
, tomatoes and capers, was a little dry, a touch over cooked so a bit chewy. Our waiter really showed how Italians are the masters of their art. He went about his job effortlessly and with good humour. Altogether a most enjoyable experience as the lunch was a birthday gift from my brother.
Louca, our waiter, was so helpful and knowledgeable about the entire menu. He was happy, funny, and outgoing and that made a great experience to begin with so much better. The entire restaurant is beautiful. Such a great atmosphere. I recommend the steak! Definitely come here if you are thinking about it.
Staff were amazing as always, look forward to the garden reopening
Mostly it all went very well, good table good friends but the noise level was extremely loud, children running amok and parents not caring. (it is half term). Some new dishes were well presented and delicious. The staff are outstandingly attentive and the attitude was appreciated.
Full breakfast and the quality of the food and the amount were excellent. Lovely and relaxing decor. Great table with loads of space. Service discrete and efficient.
Only slight annoyance was we arrived at 7.55am for an 8.00am booking and had to wait outside in the damp weather.
Lovely setting. Asked to change table and we were quickly accommodated.
Delicious food and great service. My only slight criticism were the chips. Think they had been refried from previously already having been cooked, but everything else WONDERFUL.
I have been here countless times and love the atmosphere . The food is secondary .
I arrived a bit early and was told to wait at the bar . We waited and waited to be served at the bar . We waited some more as the other diners who arrived the same time as me were all seated . A hostess kept coming up to us asking who we were ?! One slightly more competent hostess said we would be seated in 2 minutes then disappeared and we waited another 10 minutes . 40 minutes after I arrived we were taken to an empty private room away from everyone , it was sort of like an overflow room.
A nice room but no one in it except one other table and loads of empty tables .
We were clearly low down on their list .
Terrible terrible to be made to feel like that in a restaurant .
Not great The Ivy!!
Really excellent venue all round. Will certainly go again.
Two of the mains were wrong. We ordered mains with meat and we received vegetarian options instead. tables are too close to each other, it is impossible to hold a private
Conversation. The Male toilets were smelling and not clean (partially customers’ fault)
Didn’t read my table request. Service not great, got our order wrong and was slow
I booked a table for lunch on a Tuesday 2.30 p.m. Booked a table for my daughter and myself, my nephew unexpectedly joined us, he altered the booking with no problems. We were greeted by friendly reception staff and shown to the bar, we were quickly shown to our table. The restaurant was quite busy. We did not want a starter so ordered a main, I had a salmon and smoked haddock fishcake with pea puree and poached egg, it tasted lovely and the egg was perfect, lovely and runny. My nephew and daughter ordered the shepherds pie, which you might think was ordinary but it was beautifully presented. We had sprouting broccoli, miso butter and chili and green beans with almonds. We did not want a sweet as we were full, so ordered coffee . The waiter was excellent and very friendly, he asked us if we had any allergies and suggested extra items to go with our order which was much appreciated. The seating, table and decorations were excellent. We did not have to wait long for our orders.
Very classy restaurant, food is tasty and the service is great. Only down side is that it can be noisy at times.
Our lunch was just wonderful, especially the scallop ravioli suggested by our charming waiter Giuseppe. We had just Ben to see the treasures of King Tut - this restaurant is a treasure that should be experienced.
Beautiful surroundings, excellent service and great food. Nice touch for my daughter's birthday with a little cake and candle, thank you.
Had a beautiful evening celebrating...
Started with cocktails in the sitting bar area and Ivan made our experience special with his passionate creations of Mai Tais and Champagne Cocktails. He also kindly organized and surprised us with birthday desserts at the end of our dinner which was such a lovely gesture! It’s those types of touches that make an establishment stand out from other establishments.
The atmosphere, gorgeous food and overall dining experience was outstanding.
Great ambiance. Love the food and drinks.
The service was outstanding
Service and ambiance and food was perfect, service very attentive, the open fire very welcome and staff welcoming.
Birthday celebration, staff very polite and the food is excellent value.
Totally disappointed. Worst tuna carpaccio I’ve ever tried (tuna pieces were drowning in some unidentified substance which looked very poor). Lazy and slow service, they did not even manage to take the plate from the table when I finished my meal.
in spite of having booked two weeks prior for a relatively early sitting we were placed in the overspill private dining room. It was completely empty with zero atmosphere, which of itself would have been fine - except that the tables are miniscule and the chairs uncomfortable. we couldnt tuck our legs under the table and when the food arrived, the waiter struggled to get it on the table. Given that one of the positives of this place as a whole is the comfort of theseating - this was incredibly dissapointing. i would have had more room at pret a manager.
oh - and all the staff pretended like this wasnt an issue ...
dont oversell the covers and delierv better overall quality of experience
Very good experience at the restaurant even for a busy Saturday. Our waiter Wellington provided excellent service throughout and made us feel great whilst dining there. The food was amazing and the ambience made it feel like we were just dining with ourselves
I have been to 'the Ivy' in Cobham, Surrey near to where i live twice and throughly enjoyed it, great service and great food.
As it was Valentine's i thought i would with my partner try another 'Ivy', the Kings Road one. I booked a table several weeks before so as not to be disappointed, the reservation was made for 8.15.
We arrived in good time, about 8 o'clock, we knew we were early and were told to have a drink at the bar. Things started to go down hill from here, the bar was packed, there was nowhere to sit, very few bar menus and to few staff to be able to order a drink easily.
At 8.15 we were still waiting for our table, i asked a waitress when we would be seated and was just told that the table was not ready.
Finally at 8.35 we were seated. We ordered our food after another wait, my partner had the 'famous' Ivy Shepards pie and i had the burger. We were both by now extremely hungry and looking forward to our meal.
When the meal finally arrived, the burger was fine although a little bland but my partner found her Shepards pie to be luke warm, however due to the fact we were both by now ravenous, we pressed on.
We made one of the waitresses aware of the the luke warm food, she apologised and said she would make it up to us.
We were now running out of time as we had to be home for the baby sitter, we quickly ordered one small pudding each and asked for the bill. The waiter said we would not be charged for my partners pudding due to the luke warm main course, however when the bill arrived we had been charged! When we mentioned this the bill was amended.
This story does not end here, as at about 12.30am that night, i began to feel sick and several minutes later i was violently sick several times.
To say that we were hugely disappointed in our 'Ivy' experience, would be a gross under statement and neither of us are in any hurry to return too, or recommend the Ivy to anyone else
The most amazing meal with service which was second to none!
Would highly recommend!
The food was outstanding, and the waiters were on top of everything and were great with recommendations and ensuring everything was alright!
Busy, bustling fun place on a Saturday night. Though that meant they left us at the bar and forgot us while ‘preparing the table’. However very quick to offer champagne to make up and take a starter off the bill when I said it was so so, after being asked. So in many ways service was 5 star.
Extensive menu but badly catered for dairy/gluten allergy combined. Probably ok if just have one allergy. More simply cooked options would help.
But would go back for decent if not excellent food and buzzing atmosphere.
The service was great but the food for 2 of us wasn’t. We both ordered the eggs Benedict and the first time all the eggs were not cooked in the middle (ie the egg white was clear!) so we asked for them both to be redone.... the second time 2 eggs were undercooked again and the other 2 were cold. I suspect, because of the volume of orders, that the eggs are poached for 1 minute and then held in iced water until required.... We didn’t like to send them back again as it would have felt rude so all in all not a great experience. The other 3 meals however were very nice.
