Glass of champagne was flat which was disappointing. Food was good but over priced. Lovely decor and ambience.

I had an awful experience at the Ivy. They treat "opentable" booking as second rank bookings and asked us to order at least "one main" each and "in the next 5 min" or we have to leave. Never seen so rude and bad service nor have I seen a restaurant that obliges you to order in the next 5 min...
We had to drink our wine in 5min with waiters asking us to leave the table, pay the 150£ bill and leave!

Not acceptable and very rude! I will never go back again

Went for a girls brunch. The zucchini fries were good. So was the lobster benedict, tuna tartare and bread. The crab linguine was a disappointment as was the salmon crab. The crab was not fresh. Quite dry. The cocktails were nice. Service was great although the drinks were a bit slow. Luckily we were in no rush to leave. We were seated in the garden under the shade on a sunny day. Next time I would order the steak sandwich eggs benedict with salmon (both looked great on another table). Would definitely go back.

The venue was lovely however i booked early in order to be seated in the garden and i was told on the day that we were unable to get a table and we were seated inside.

Also, out food came before our drinks. I would have preferred drinks first.

other than that, it was lovely.

We were there for the breakfast. Ordered breakfast and pastries. But pastries did not come. Egg and the other foods turned cold. Waiter told us , wait couple minutes.. We waited more than half an hour nothing came ... We were hungry and could not eat anything. Manager told us kitchen was busy. This is not a response and she removed everything from check ... Not nice exp.

Good service and great cocktails but food is nothing really special.
I will come back again for cocktails but not for food.
Also, based on the location and type of restaurant, it's surprisingly not pricey.

Super place for a catch up with friends - we had a table in the garden which was perfect on a hot Saturday early evening. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again.

This is a charming restaurant with a strong menu and great drinks. The garden looked charming. They seemed surprised that I was alone and consequently sat me at the back of the restaurant, as far from the group diners as possible. If they were uncomfortable with me taking a 2 top, I wish they had recommended I sit at the bar.

Had a great table out in the conservatory weather fabulous so even the roof was taken off which made a lovely experience sitting out in the evening sun... staff were very friendly and accommodating.. restaurant ambience was buzzy but very relaxed and comfortable... food was good especially the zucchini!!... would highly recommend to anyone thinking of going!
Will be back!

Even though we had booked the table for 14:15 we arrived around 13:00 and was offered a table. Very nice, thank you.

I booked the Ivy Chelsea Garden a week before coming via OpenTable. I chose it as it was set to be the hottest day of the year, so I requested an outside table. Upon arrival, I was informed that the garden does not open until 12 (our booking was at 11) - I feel like an establishment such as The Ivy should have contacted me after viewing my request instead of telling me at the door. We had a champagne breakfast and asked if we could finish by having another drink outside to at least experience the garden. However, we were told the garden was for 'diners only' (we had dined in the restaurant). There was plenty of space, and after having spent £30 a head on breakfast alone, I was disappointed that we were not offered the chance to sit outside as this is why I booked this place. We were not even sat in the conservatory to see any of the garden.

Aside from this, food was lovely and our waiter was polite and attentive. Interior was gorgeous, but visited for the garden. We went to Bluebird which was just down the road after - staff allowed us to sit in their garden for a drink despite not getting food.

So good we went twice the same day: for breakfast and lunch. Worth checking for walk in availability if you’re in the neighbourhood; often they seem to have some space not released to booking platforms.

Booked a table in the Garden, but got placed inside. It was argued that reservations after 7.30pm will always be inside, while guests arriving later than us got a table outside.

very busy, poor service, such average food. Trading off a name that should have done more to protect its reputation as it expanded

Although a nice environment, it was nothing special and seems to be using the "block standard" brasserie decor of many new corporately held restaurants. Surprisingly, the breakfast was bland with the poached eggs overcooked. I believe the restaurant brand has fallen victim to corporate ownership with a higher concern for profit vs. quality of food / service.

Very pleasant welcome by receptionist who promptly showed us to our table. Charming and efficient staff helpful but not over intrusive. My husband had the special of the day which was a delicious fish pie it contained scallops, prawns, lobster, cod, if one set out to make a luxury fish pie this was it and an added bonus not too much salmon which is so often used to plump out fish dishes as it is economical. The tuna Carpaccio to start with was an absolute masterpiece one of the best I have ever had with I think an anchovy based cream quite delicious. Steak Tartare was good but being hyper critical for me slightly too salty. Altogether a most enjoyable and delicious meal and one will certainly visit the Ivy again

After my first visit I left a pretty scathing review, the service was snooty, the door ladies were rude and like those terrible cliches that work in luxury fashion, in danger of believing they are better than their customers, which is odd as this is just a brasserie so not actually a high end eatery. However I’ve been back (it’s close to home and I wasn’t able to convince all of my friends that they would be better off elsewhere). The service and greeting has edged upwards at each visit and after visiting about four times in three weeks on Tuesday we finally had a revelation, all of the staff we encountered were polite and friendly! I’m not sure if it’s because of the sunshine, but long may it last.

I have never experienced such a poor and unprofessional service. The receptionist was very rude and had an attitude and lack of manners that was more than inappropriate. Such a behaviour does not belong in any restaurant and only disgraces the institution. The Ivy should clearly overthink what clientele they want to attract with such rude staff that grandstands only because they work there.

I will summarise our experience in one word "awful". It was the worse service i have encountered in any restaurant, even Nandos the other day was more friendly and welcoming. we had a table for 3 at 7:30, as we come in the restaurant the reception ladies announce that there was a gas problem and no food is being cooked and advised to come back in one hour and a half, even though me and my guest were starving we understood that things like this can happen so we had to take a one hour tour around Chelsea, lucky us it was a sunny day. When we came back we were seated quite fast. Our waitress lacked smile, charisma and communication skills. She forgot to order our arranchini, did not ask once how our meal was, did not top up the water and purposely ignored our table. the manager on the section also forgot protocol and asked us only once how the desserts were. the plates were cleaned too fast, when clearly not everyone finished. When we requested the bill our voucher was forgotten about, had to request to come back and change it which took ages to come. We also expected a discount for the fact that we had to wait for one hour and a half, also complained about the arranchini, yet nothing was even mentioned not even an apology. And as we were leaving through the door, the receptionists were busy as well talking to each other and forgot the warm farewell which is a requirement. As being a waitress in another ivy, Chelsea was not representing the ivy values and requirements that the other restaurants have. It lacked energy and positivity in almost every department. Overall we fell unwelcomed and very disappointed, the restaurant décor was the only highlight of the night.
