The Great Oak at Pechanga Resort & Casino Ratings and Reviews
My husband, daughter and i went for Thanksgiving dinner. I had the traditional faire, my husband had the porterhouse and my daughter had the filet mignon. Beef was cooked perfectly, medium rare and oh so tender. My turkey dinner was wonderful as well. My husband and will be back next month!
The waiter seemed annoyed with us. It was our anniversary and it was noted on the reservation. Not one person acknowledged that nor did anyone ask if there was a special occasion we were celebrating. Why ask on reservation at all then? Our waiter took after dinner drinks order for everyone but me (I was in bathroom) and rolled his eyes at me when I asked if I could have coffee. He should have checked with me knowing he didn't take me order. I felt for the money spend on just ok food, I could have gone somewhere else to make the occasion more special and pleasant. Our waiter was horrible!
It was five years ago when we first dine at The Great Oak Steakhouse in Pechanga. We heard that it was voted for best steakhouse in town so we gave it a try. My husband and I both agreed that we had better steak in some other places.
Lately, we've been hearing a lot of people saying about how good the steak are, so we decided to give it a try again, we think that it's still the same as 5 years ago. It wasn't bad, but we wouldn't consider it the best.
The ambiance is nice though and our server was great!
Excellent prime beef, nice variety of salads and sides, and exceptional service. We like to share dishes and they have no problem splitting a salad or a steak, very accommodating. They cook their steaks with extremely high heat, insuring a crispy outside and a juicy inside. Ordered medium rare and arrived medium rare. Can't go wrong!
Have dinned at the restaurant many time before and the food and ambiance is always great, I like the wine list selection, some great wines are listed, what I did not like this time was the service, the waiter was really bad, his food timing was really off, before we could finish out appetizers he was serving our main course, pouring of wine was horribly, a 2013 Silver Oak decentered, the waiter pours wine like he was filling water glasses, IT WAS A JOKE. His service was REALLY BAD
Objective was to enjoy a great meal in a great environment with great friends. This restaurant provided all of these items. The atmosphere was delightful, the service was impeccable, and the food was delightful. For a wonderful evening out with friends for dinner, this is our go-to place for the future.
Dinner was wonderful. We started with the cajon lamb chops for appetizer they were so good that we could have made them dinner. He had a delicious pork chop and I had the lobster for dinner. So good.
We added two bottles of wine and desert and it was our perfect anniversary dinner!
Decent restaurant, not as good as before, becoming more profit driven than the exceptional food, deserts, salad, now just regular. Dress code very relaxed, shorts, t-shirts ok now, probably just go there to eat occasionally than a special event from now on, price is a bit high for regular food
It's the most expensive of the restaurants at Pechanga, but the service and food do not disappoint. I was skeptical of so many positive reviews being legit, but they were. Service was wonderful, as was the chef's take on virtually every aspect of our meal, including the samplings.
It's always a pleasure to dine at Great Oak. I was disappointed with the White Truffle Risotto because it was too garlicky and no Truffle taste and not creamy but more sticky. They took it off the check and apologized. I was very satisfied with everything else. We will definitely return.
