Food was good but slow getting to the table and pricey for what you get. Service was average but all in all I had my experience and can honestly say I'm not eating there again nor recommending it.

The food was excellent. I had the lobster bisque soup and the fillet mignon. My wife had the bacon spare ribs. My wife said they were the best spare ribs she ever had.

A good steakhouse in Old Town Temecula. Service was slow, but the restaurant was full on a Thursday night. Very popular with tourists who want to experience a bit of the “old west”. Large menu with choices that will appeal to all. The baked potato was $4.00 & with generous sides, could easily feed 2 people. Our favorite part of the meal was the appetizer: phyllo wrapped Brie cheese bundles sitting on a raspberry chipotle sauce. Enormous slice of chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream was too dry. So enjoy the fun ambience & know that the portions are easily shared.

Went back for valentines day. Was disappointed that we where sat outside as this was not on our reservation I made 2 weeks prior and they said they sold out inside. Would liked to know that and would have gone somewhere else as it was very cold outside.

We were warmly received, our waitress was great. There was a draft, we were seated near a door that went outside which was in heavy use.

Food was delicious, well presented.

New resident of the area wanted to try out local fare the “cowboy” was recommended by a friend.
Great food, good bar selection and great service we will recommend to our friends. A must if you’re in “Old Town “.
Can’t wait to try the breakfast menu.

Tables are a very tight fit. Service was ok. Thought it odd I was offered Cupcake wine rather than Robert Hall or better to go with Rib Eye. Once we received the wine list, we went with a bottle of Red from Robert Hall. The heavily season Rib eye was full of grizzle, a first for me in a chop house and at that cost. Chop house with no lamb on the menu??? and lacking Pork chops??? Wasn't the worst, but certainly wasn't worth the $$. Wouldn't go back.

We had a lovely evening at the Cowboy. We were pleasantly surprised that our drinks were reasonably-priced, generous servings. We first sat at the bar. What a contrast to other Old Town bars with their uncomfortable bar stools and drafty rooms! The Cowboy has cushy bar stools with high backs We lingered in the bar area and enjoyed the ambiance. Then our waiter Ariel escorted us to our table in the dining room. He is a fabulous waiter who provided impeccable service. Our ribeye and swordfish dinners were perfect. We look forward to returning in a couple of weeks, when we will
stay later for the entertainment .

This is our go-to steakhouse for special occasions. The Gambling Cowboy is exceptional, yet relatively casual. The service is top notch and the food is absolutely amazing. It’s such a special place for us that we purposely do not go there for just the sake of “eating out.” We want to keep it that way....because it is deserving of being a dinner destination that doesn’t become “everyday” or “mainstream.” We look so forward to our times at The Gambling Cowboy and have several wonderful memories of special times spent dining there. Birthdays, anniversaries, special family and friend visits, etc. So happy we have this wonderful steak and chophouse right in our backyard. Good job to the owners, managers, chefs, servers, and staff!
