About this restaurant

  • Neighborhood gem
  • Dog-friendly
  • Charming
We really care about the food and wine we serve at the Fox and Grapes which is why we won a Catey Menu of the Year award and have earned a Bib Gourmand. You can also find us listed in Harden's, Zagat's, the Michelin Guide, the Time Out Eating & Drinking Guide and the Good Pub Guide amongst others.

Alongside our Chef's Seasonal Dishes we offer a selection of classic English pub food such as fish and chips and that perennial favourite: the Burger. For a real treat, we recommend you try one of our succulent steaks cooked to perfection in our Josper Oven.

We came on Sunday to celebrate my son's 17th birthday. and were very pleased. The food was excellent and everyone had a great time! My sister commented that the beef was amongst the best she had ever had since it was very juicy and tender. Also, we were allowed to bring a birthday cake. Thank you!

Everything was good and tghe food was excellent but far too much! I did not expect, or want, a batter pudding with pork and it was huge but there was far more than I could eat or my friend so we sadly had to waste food which we do not like. Even my husband struggled and he has a very good appetite - so excellent food but help your clients clim down by giving them less on their plates!

Sunday lunch celebrating my birthday. Service was pretty swift and the veggie roast was excellent with lovely tasting vegetables and the main was crunchy on the outside. Huge Yorkshire puddings though a little dark and overdone. The three of us all had the same with a side order of cauliflower cheese which was top end and very tasty. All in all, so good we'll come again. Thanks to the team!

We’ve been going for many years, but the service and food offer have gone downhill recently.

Food and service were great. It is a gorgeous pub, it would be better if a family section could be made. Kids were running around screaming knocking things at other people's tables. It's not really the staffs place to parent other peoples kids, so maybe containing them to an area would mean others can enjoy the pub as well. We moved on for post lunch drink due to the chaos, in other places we normally laze over another bottle of wine/post dinner coffees etc

Lovely pub with great service, but let down by the cooking. I say cooking, because the Caesar salad was fabulous. My steak however had a very severe char on it, which made it taste quite bitter. The chips too were pretty average. I’ll never understand why we can’t get decent chips in pubs and restaurants in this country. All over Europe chips come from freshly cut potatoes, seasoned well and cooked to perfection. These felt and tasted like oven chips. Happy to go back I think, I’ll just order a different side dish….

Staff were attentive despite the busy bank holiday crowd. Food arrived in good time and was excellent. For a family lunch, this was a lovely find and would definitely come back
