Situated in the Red Rocks country 17 miles southwest of Denver on Hwy 285, The Fort is a true replica of Bent's Fort, (1833-1849), the first American fur trade post in Colorado. The Cheyenne, Arapahoe, Kiowa and Pawnee traded and intermarried at Bent's Old Fort, creating an economic and peaceful exchange of cultures in an otherwise violent West. The Fort building is on the National Registry of Historic Places, and celebrates the many cultures that traded at Bent's Old Fort. Our menu features "New Foods of the Old West" including the best cuts of buffalo, elk and quail, grilled to perfection. There are vegetarian options inspired by American Indian recipes including Corn Beans and Squash, known as the Three Sacred Sisters. The wine list is awarded the Wine Spectator each year, and the nine dining rooms, with intimate seating, has a 350 seat capacity, with real adobe "beehive "fireplaces that burn wood in the winter and fall months. The food is extremely expensive for what you get. It's not worth the price. My elk steak was overcooked and the portions are very small. I would not recommend this place. Find a restaurant that offers more for your money.

The Fort is expensive, however, it is totally worth it as a destination dining location. Excellent and consistent food, the best service, and convenient to just about anywhere in the Denver Metro area. Been going there for decades, and will continue to go. If you want something more than the usual beef, chicken, or fish, go to The Fort and have quail, bison, elk, lamb, or salmon.

Over priced, poor quality and mediocre service. None of the “old western” charm that they are “ famous” for. For the price and the effort to get there, we expected more of a fine dining experience.

Our family had an enjoyable dinner at the Fort. I dined there in the 1980’s when I moved to the Denver area after college, and was a treat to take our son there when he got out of college and started his working career in Denver. The excellent food and service still remains the same and everyone enjoyed their meals. One issue we had was that our son and his girlfriend hardly had any salad dressing on their Greek salad. Other than that the food was excellent. The staff were very attentive and provided excellent service. I highly recommend dining here. It’s a bit on the expensive side, but the food and ambiance was worth the experience.

We enjoyed the view but the patio was closed to a private party and this disappointed us as we had planed to dine outside. My duck was under cooked on the outside - rubbery skin with no flavor. The meat quality was good. I believe it was tender but not great. My husband enjoyed the quail but would not come back for it

The service and food were amazing. It was very pleasing to experience the wonderfully organized staff at this restaurant. Everyone who worked here was friendly and professional.
