Unfortunate experience. The "shrimp" stuffed in mushrooms had virtually no shrimp, all breadcrumbs. Our waiter agreed. He even brought out a second batch after we requested. Still no shrimp. I ordered steak medium rare. It was medium well, all brown inside. The dessert was dry. Coffee warm, not steaming hot. For a fixed menu with limited options, it shouldn't take 2.5 hours for 3 courses. Disappointed.

They really had a lovely bunch, but charged us for every substitution without letting us know, and charged us full rate for the kids meal. For such a lovely location on what should have been a special day, that was a real bummer.

I took my wife to the Firehouse for her birthday. We were sat down quickly but it took over 20 minutes for anyone to come great us at our table. It took us almost 90 minutes to get our food once seated. I ordered the NY steak it was tough and had a lot gristle. Very hard to eat and had little flavor. I would have sent it back but we had already waited so long to eat my wife and I didn’t want to wait longer. Will not go back

Food was not bad. It was OK and I would say the drinks are pretty good, but not all the drinks are on the menu. You definitely have to ask or go look at the bar and the service is definitely not bad at all.

What a wonderful experience. It's about a 90 minute drive to the restaurant so I don't go as often as I'd like, but I am always impressed when I go. The entire staff is so accommodating and professional. From the valet outside, to the gentlemen who sat us to our extremely impressive waiter Derek (not certain on spelling). The braised pork belly appetizer was perfect and the 2 specials (halibut and lobster pasta) were wonderful. This is the perfect place for a date night.

The ambiance takes you on a trip to another time. The filet, while tender, could have been more warm and juicier.

It’s in Old Town and you have to walk on wooden sidewalks and old brick cobblestone streets so women should be careful about wearing heels. They do have valet parking if you want to avoid that issue.

We had a lovely experience. The service was exceptional. They were able to modify the menu for my wife’s allergy with confidence and ease

We were somewhat skeptical about how nice/good this place would be, due to the location in Old Town Sacramento, which is just so overly-touristy. But we were highly pleased and surprised. Food, drinks, service, ambience are all great. We had: Creamy Corn Soup -- Smoked tomato coulis, huitlacoche, crispy hominy & micro cilantro garnish, very good & the crispy hominy was a fun added texture. Seared Day Boat Scallops -- Fava bean puree, king trumpet mushrooms, Easter radish, spiced Applewood smoked bacon, herbed beurre Monte'. -- This was absolutely fantastic, nothing bad or negative to say about this dish. Every bite, every ingredient was perfect. Prime dry-aged New York Strip Stead -- Applewood smoked bacon & onion jam, Marchand de vin, 10 oz. -- Very good. Grand Marnier Souffle' -- Dark Chocolate sauce, vanilla bean, & white chocolate anglaise (allow 20 minutes for cooking). Again, perfection! So delicious! Cocktails: Lavender Haze -- Empress Gin, lavender bitters, lemon juice, lavender syrup, egg white. Pretty and delicious! Aviation -- Empress Indigo Gin, Maraschino liqueur, Creme de Violette, lemon juice. Very good! Dinners also came with a bread basket, as well as an Amuse Bouche. (The amuse bouche we had was delicious! Basically a "take" on a cold potato-salad -- half a tiny red potato with lots of yummy things on top. So tasty!
