The dining area is gorgeous! Food is great lots to choose from have had both lunch and dinner
Went for dinner with my husband as it had a been a long time since we had a nice meal out together, but have been a few times before. They cooked my steak to perfection, as ordered. Always order too much food here, but I can't help but eat their delicious bread! Nothing super fancy about this place, but I love the old world feeling. Casual and upscale at the same time! Very traditional food that stands the test of time. Steak, potatoes, veggies, and some traditional French options.
Love the old world decor... I felt like I was dining in a Edwardian era New York hotel.
Delicious food with a wonderful ambiance and great service.
First time at this restaurant. Went for lunch very pleased with the good selection of food. Wait staff was professional and attentive. Outdoor patio is beautiful. Would recommend.
Even in the heat of Sacramento summer - outdoor eating is always wonderful. We got a table by the water fountain which was lovely. Service and food outstanding. Love to come for lunch for the setting, service and food. Great lunch menu. Lot of options from entree to salad, sandwiches and hearty appetizers. Can't miss.
Lovely outside setting, nice variety of entrees and very attentive staff. A great place to sit with friends for a relaxing visit and to catch up on all the latest. Before we knew it, two hours had passed!
My favorite outdoor restaurant anywhere. The best service and ambience!
Firehouse Restaurant is a Sacramento mainstay located in the somewhat disappointing Old Sacramento area. The staff is professional and attentive, and the ambience is definitely unique and upscale. The wine list is extensive and the food very good, but both were priced quite a bit over value. All in all, a good spot for a special dinner in Sacramento; but be sure to bring your wallet.
As always, great service, great food and a great time! Firehouse is the very best restaurant in Sacramento
We had a great time for our 30th anniversary! Thank you.
We were there with my two friends for their birthdays and we loved the food and service. We loved and appreciated the wait staff checking up on us and refilling our glasses with water and wine. The birthday girls loved the creme brûlée and said it was the best they ever had. I missed out on getting the little sorbets to cleanse the palette for the next dish though. Maybe it is a seasonal thing? I will be back for more special occasions in the future.
Dinner and service were awesome, menu & wine list were extensive, but the added bonus was being able to valet the car and walk after dinner to Golden 1 Center for a concert and then walk back. As we walked back we texted the valet and he pulled up with the car as we were approaching. So smooth, so convenient.
Celebrated our Anniversary. Always great food and time.
We had a very lovely time, the food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Excellent- as always! Very pleased! We will be back again.
Beautiful settling, service and food was amazing! Would definitely recommend and dine there again!
We were told by lots of different people, that the place to eat was The Firehouse. We weren't disappointed. It was beautiful and the service was outstanding. The food was Amazing. My husband couldn't get over how wonderful his pork chop was...my Halibut was terrific. Can't say enough about our evening. A very Special Place.
Absolutely fabulous food. My husband had the filet, and I had the salmon. Some of the best we’ve ever eaten.
My Wife’s Birthday. She ordered the Lobster, it was like Chewing on Hard RUBBER! I had a taste n she was Close. It felt like Trying to Chew on a Tire!!! The desserts were good.
Food and service was great
The Firehouse was suggested to us by a business associate. It was just ok. I had the halibut, and my colleague had the steak. Definitely not worth writing home about, and also not impressive considering the price.
Our taxi service was canceled and then we had to go to another cab company. I called the Firehouse and talked with Alex and asked him to hold our table because we were going to be late. We were 45 minutes late. In the meantime, he told 2 of 8-person group what had happened so they did not have to worry. Sure enough our table was saved. The food was magnificent as was our wonderful waiter. We had such a wonderful time, despite our trouble with the taxi and the very crowded freeway. Thank you. Fran
The experience was outstanding. I was not sure from looking at the outside. However, the inside was somthing out of a a movie. Dramatic ceilings and art. Very classic and traditional. It is housed in a historic building. The food was at another level from most resturants. I would rate it up there with some of the other outstanding places we visit throughout California. The steak, scallops, even the salad was very good. Fine ingredients. It was expensive but the food and atmosphere matched it. The service was also very professional and pleasant. I would highly recommend visiting this resturant.
Wonderful diner. Subtle combinations of distinct flavors, perfectly balanced. Two wonderful wine flights. One of the very best Sacramento restaurants.
Great outdoor dining with great service. Food was delicious.
Beautiful interior and court yard. Staff never missed a step and food was a welcome to the palate. Perfect for celebration or just a change from the mundane.
Overall great experience in great location.
We were warmly greeted by multiple employees as we entered the restaurant. Our waiter was at our table exactly when we needed him. It's a beautiful restaurant.
Been to the old Firehouse several times before for delicious business lunches, but this was my first dinner. As with the lunches before the food and service were outstanding. My dinner companion has several food allergies and the chef made adjustments to accommodate her specific needs while still providing a fabulous meal. Great job.
It's a lovely place to visit with friends. The service was great and the Lobster Roll was delicious!
We chose this particular restaurant because we have had our anniversary dinner there in the past and the service was phenomenal. As we expected, our server was courteous and professional. He was always on task with our drinks and checking to make sure that everything was ok. The only issue we had was the table next to us, 4 gentlemen were being loud and obnoxious. My love and I had a hard time hearing one another. After the sun went down I got rather chilly and asked to be moved near the fireplace and they obliged. The rest of our meal was without incident. The staff was great. The food was creative, flavorful and very well presented.
The cost of everything was worth it.
The Firehouse has stood the test of time. It is pricey but that's why credit cards were created. Still one of Sacramento's finest restaurants.
Very disappointed at Mother's Day Brunch. Ordered the Lobster Roll that had a very small amount of fried potato hash underneath the roll and it was sitting on wilted, wet strands of greens. Cost per person was $59.95 per person and we had to pay for our coffee. Servers stood around talking instead of serving Coffee. Had to ask for Coffee 4 times! Not impressed with the food at all or the price.
Great place to have Mother’s Day dinner. We were seated immediately and the service was impeccable!!! Little pricey but worth every penny!! We will definitely be going back for another special occasion!!
Our 55th wedding anniversary and had a 7:30 reservation. We did not have to wait and were seated promptly in a fairly quite area. Our waiter, Jeremy, told us what the special was and answered our questions. We brought our own special bottle of wine and payed the $20 corkage fee and that was well worth it. We started with carpaccio followed by bowls of lobster bisque. Highly recommend both. Never felt rushed and were completely relaxed. For the main course my wife had the rack of lamb and I had the maple leaf duck, which both were prepared to perfection! For dessert we were presented with a complimentary Crème brûlée. We then ordered a grand Marnier souffle to share. We took home half of the lamb and a small portion of my duck. After paying the bill we departed at 10, very satisfied and completely happy that we decided to celebrate our anniversary at The Firehouse.
First time visit and I was impressed with the decor, quiet dining room, impeccable service, and delicious food. We will definitely return again for other special occasions. Well worth a five-star rating. Much more of a high class dinner establishment than we’re used to, with the high -priced bill of fare one might expect, but worth every penny without being stuffy or pretentious.
Birthday dinner. Food was great as was the set and wine. Mario continues to shine
The Firehouse is an old Sacramento institution that is always a treat. Today we wanted to dine outside and ended up having a casual lunch in the outdoor courtyard. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience from the food to the service to the craft cocktails. We weren't rushed, service was attentive and the lunch menu had plenty of options to choose from. We highly recommend the Firehouse and not just for special occasions.
