Always a great experience at the Firehouse. Great food. Excellent service..
The courtyard was very comfortable considering the circumstances, as they had portable canopies throughout. All tables had a portable heater near so we never got cold. I enjoy the courtyard because with all the brick/vines and decorations, it reminds me of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride in Disneyland.
The restaurant itself ran with the top of the line service, food, and drinks (I recommend the Old Fashioned. The best I've ever had!) that you would expect.
We had a great time!
Mario and staff are the best!!!
We get together with friends ever time it’s dine Downtown. It’s been a tradition for for many years to go to the Firehouse!! Excellent every time. So glad they have a great patio right now with Covid still here.
Fantastic meal! You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. The steak was cooked to perfection and the quality of the food was amazing. The service was prompt and friendly and they waited patiently as we closed down the restaurant. This is definitely one of my go-to restaurants when I’m in town.
Definitely not the best dinner we have had there. We frequent this restaurant every two months. I on this occasion the food was sub par. I ordered my lamb medium rare the top half of the lamb was served two temp but the bottom half was well done and chewy. This was very disappointing my father-in-law also ordered a ribeye, very disappointed with the cut of meat. It was chewy and not at all good quality. The service is always great and the atmosphere was enjoyable the outdoor dining is tolerable in the cold weather. The heaters are set up throughout the tents which help with keeping the area warm
We have been dining at The Firehouse for 20 years and we have never been disappointed in our dining experience. In my mind, this is the best restaurant in Sacramento.
A most beautiful and charming dinner ..... and so absolutely luscious too! Carpaccio is difficult to find on many menus these days, but Firehouse offers a tasty version in just the right amount. Beet salad, in this style with pistachios as garnish, is so very good .... I loved it! Then I died and went to heaven luxuriating in the deliciousness of large, I mean large, tender scallops, prepared perfectly and uniquely! Bravo, bravo chef!!
Thank you, Firehouse Staff!! I had a killer evening because of you and how good you are and how much you are!
Sacramento is so lucky you are here!!

Always a Great Dining Experience! Old School Vibe throughout. If in the Sacramento area, a must!!
We were there celebrating our anniversary and the food, service, and ambiance was great!
I absolutely love this place, food and drinks were outstanding. The service was awesome.
Nice experience, food was great, service was impeccable.
Exceptional dinner. Had a terrific ceasar salad and one of the best ribeyes I've ever eaten. My wife had a great salad and raved about her lamb rack. Slightly disappointed with the size of the martinis but they were well made. Highly recommend!
Absolutely amazing experience. The food was spectacular. We celebrated two birthdays and it was fantastic. We went on the last day before the pandemic shutdown - so glad we got in and wishing the best to the Firehouse. Just a classy place - can't wait to return.
A real gem in Old Town. Great courtyard / patio, white glove service and excellent food! Don't forget to order the Gran Marinier souffle before you finish dinner!
Very pretty setting outside . Not many people due to pandemic. Good service. Sea bass and chateaubriand were good. I would have preferred green beans to be cooked more and had tips cut off. I received a free dessert for my birthday.
Amazing dinner to celebrate my spouse’s retirement. Attentive service, patio dining with plenty of heaters under a tent with Covid safety precautions, yet still had ambiance in outdoor patio with holiday decor. Memorable dinner
We celebrated my birthday and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
The food was ok. Not what I would expect for $50 plates. Ribeye was a generous but but fat was not rendered properly, steak needed seasoning/salt. Sides were good. Hali it was great, small portio. Amd rice.pilaf was awful, crunchy. Cocktail was pricey and very light on alcohol. Appetizer was very small for price and crab claws were greatly overcooked. Ambiance would have been great but the tents blocked the beauty. Over all I left feeling like I wasted $200 for our 2 person meal. Maybe it was an off night.
They are doing such a wonderful job even through this COVID disaster. The menu has been simplified in order to keep the quality up with their reduced capacity. The courtyard is always lovely and is just fine with the heaters running. Please keep visiting our local restaurants and shops.
Amazing service and ambiance for Covid times.
The food was delicious
Great service and amazing food. Will be coming back often.
Our waiter Korda was delightful, meal delicious, did a great job with outdoor seating covid restrictions
since it's an outdoor venue in Winter, I know it was hard to accommodate the current restrictions, but it got cold after a while, especially the legs. Maybe a few lower heaters to warm the lower sections. The chill made us want to leave the place a lot sooner than expected. Otherwise, a perfect environment, excellent food (best steak I've had - Blue to perfection!) and service. will repeat the experience.
Great ambience, service, and food as always. Love this place
Wonderful as usual
I am so glad my partner and I decided to eat here at the Firehouse Restaurant. It was the first time for both of us. I loved the food. The service was top notch. When we needed a waiter to speak to, they were there. It was a great evening. I can't wait to be able to eat indoors to appreciate the beautiful art while enjoying the delicious food.
Wonderful service!
Great food and outstanding service. Very friendly and personalized attention. Great place for special celebrations.
Booked the last reservation for dinner on thanksgiving and it was one of the best meals I’ve had in quite some time. Service, food, atmosphere was exactly what my tow guests and I needed. Drinks topped off a wonderful dinner and desert. The service was top notch. Dessert is amazing.
The food was great. The halibut and beef were cooked just perfectly. It was a great experience.
This was the best Thanksgiving dinner outside of our home at a restaurant that we have ever had. Everyone made the evening special under the situations we were in. The turkey dinner was out of this world and I wish I had plates of it to eat! I am not a turkey fan, but I ordered it B/C it sounded so amazing and not what we would make at home! And believe me it was. It was a party in the mouth as I had a green bean, fresh cranberry, turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes on a fork with a sprig of rosemary. I savored each and every bite! The next morning as I was eating it for breakfast I mentioned that there was no gravy. My husband said that it was drizzled around the plate. I loved that the meal was not swimming in gravy, but a flavorful sauce to not even be noticed. The rosemary was the star at the top of the Christmas tree!
We enjoyed the Firehouse Restaurant's limited Thanksgiving Day menu with our
elderly mom. The food, service, and staff were fantastic! We had a wonderful time! Thank you so much!
The only criticism I have is the alcoholic drinks because I got a margarita and I could not even taste any alcohol in the drink, or feel even the slightest buzz. Unfortunately, I went a head and ordered two, so for $24 or whatever the price was, it wasn't worth it. All I paid for was sugar water. I will eat at The Firehouse again, and I told family and friends about the Thanksgiving meal, (which - having a choice of three entrees was a really wonderful idea), but I am also telling people not to waste their money on mixed drinks but to just get a beer or wine because the mixed drinks are not worth the price. My friends and I got out a lot and we remember what restaurant/s has/have the good drinks and which one/s do not. My son's drink was good because he basically just had a shot of bourbon, which is what I should have had.
Salad was delicious, as was the fish that I ordered. However, it was very small portion of fish. The dessert was just average. However, service was great.
The main reason this review wasn’t all 5s was not the restaurants fault. Covid mandates require outdoor dining only, and it was a BREEZY day. Again, something that was out of their control. The tents really took away from the ambiance. Also, we never really knew who our server was. Yes there were a million people refilling drinks, grabbing plates, but when we needed something we didn’t know who to ask. We had seen so many faces! Food was great, polite service, we enjoy stranding big days their like thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.
Thanksgiving dinner at the Firehouse was outside in the courtyard, beautiful setup, good service and excellent entrees. I was happy to have the choice for halibut and filet mignon in addition to the traditional turkey. The bread was fresh and the cranberry bread especially good, spinach salad was delicious, the halibut with mushrooms and pearl cousous earthy and perfectly cooked fish, filet mignon tender served with creamy mashed potatoes, but the dessert was very disappointing. Dessert choices were panna cotta with cranberry sauce and pumpkin cake with hazelnut mousse. They both looked beautiful and sounded good but the panna cotta was a tasteless mound of gel. Only the cranberry sauce was worth eating and the candied pistachios were a bit rancid. The pumpkin cake was very dry and the hazelnut mousse had good flavor but plastic texture. I would have enjoyed an old fashioned piece of pumpkin pie much better!
We have been going to the FireHouse for over 51 years. It is obviously our favorite “ Nice “ restaurant... So glad it is surviving through 2020!!!!
Very quiet and intimate. Although the seating was outside and the weather was brisk the setting was warm with the heat lamps. Beautiful soft music and super friendly and attentive servers. Wonderful menu options and the food was delicious. Always the most tender chicken every time. We will be back. ♥️
The food was fantastic and our service was also very good. Highly recommend
