A pioneer in the all day Dim-Sum & drinking movement. The Drunken Monkey is a sophisticated yet unpretentious bar restaurant. Red lanterns shed a rosy light over a long bar & retro Chinese antique tables. Huge mirrors edged with gilt latticework call up the decadence of a 1920’s Shanghai eating den. The style/design is appealing and atmospheric, and ideal for dates, parties and entertaining guests. The restaurant serves traditional one dish meals, such as roast duck and rice or BBQ pork and Peking duck plus very appealing dumplings and snacks, juicy prawns & deep fried strips of squid. The drinks list plays on with the oriental theme, using Asian flavours such as lychee’s and sake in our cocktails. Lager drinkers have bottled beer (Lao, Brooklyn, Paulaner Wheat Beer) and draught (Staropramen, Becks, Stella and Guinness). Happy Hour operates early evening during the week and ALL DAY Sunday.

Really good food, the bar was very loud and noisy and dark, but glad to have booked a table and be seated in the restaurant away where it was a quieter. Good happy hour on cocktails and would recommend for dim sum and cocktails on happy hour!

As always the food at Drunken Monkey was really good. Fortunately sat on a table at the back, which is quieter than sitting in the front. Great Happy Hour cocktails too!! A must if you love dimsum and cocktails!

We half considered cancelling the reservation for the devastating reviews on Google Maps. It was actually quite nice though. Service was all right and the food was good. The music is way too loud though. Next to impossible to have a conversation on one of the larger tables.

Terrible to see what has happened to my once favourite restaurant. Visited on a Saturday at 8.30pm. Far too hot, far too loud, slow service, majority of draught beer was sold out, several dishes unavailable, tables were enormous so chatting over the loud music was impossible. Brought my girlfriend for dinner and left incredibly disappointed/embarrassed.

Stuck in a small side room where staff kept forgetting us. Service charge automatically added to bill even though I complained 3 times about the service.

Unfortunately i did not have the greatest experience here, compared to many restaurants that exceed great customer service. First of all the waitress did not seem aware of the menu or familiar with which food was suitable for someone with milk intolerance. Apparently the only vegetarian options available without milk would be the vegetable section only. As an oriental customer at a chinese restaurant, i tend to be familiar with what has milk in and what hasnt (i always double check just incase) and unfortunately she had to get the manager after i questioned her on her knowledge. Not to my surprise i was correct with ordering noodles with vegetables and lettuce veggie wraps. Food was quite bland which is surprising as asian cuisine normally has great flavour and seasoning. Our waitress didnt seem too keen to return to our table, so i had to make my way upstairs to order drinks from the manager.. who shockingly replied 'there are stairs for you to come order here if you want' when i told him i wanted to order a drink from a waitress ignoring my attention. Overall I didnt feel valued, and made to feel like i was aburden due to my food specialities, nor did i feel secure from my waitress and her knowledge. I shall not be recommending as i know plenty of other asian cuisines that will happily cater to my needs

I went to Drunken Monkey with a group of ladies for a catch up. The initial waitress who was dealing with us was very helpful and directed us to the set menu which is good value for money. However, another waitress (who we later found out was the manager) came along with the bottle of proscesco that we had ordered and proceeded to pop the bottle in front of us. We kindly asked her to pop the bottle away from the table and her response was extremely abrupt. Instead of popping the bottle, she decided to walk away and direct another member of staff to us. The food came out in one big rush and was crammed onto the table which was extremely tight for 6 people. When we asked for cutlery, it took another 10 minutes to arrive after several requests for them. Overall, the food was to an okay standard but the service was shocking to say the least!

The staff were constantly rushing around grabbing plates as soon as they were emptying and had multiple staff members coming to check if we have finished our meal as if there were running out of plates and didnt give off a friendly vibe to diners
