'The Crabtree, with its spectacular position downstream from The River Cafe,
has a huge sprawling garden, a glazed colonnade and frontage on to the
Thames shaded by a weeping willow. The prawns in chilli hot oil and the toast
spread with tomatoes and onions were good, so much so we ordered them
again when we returned for Sunday lunch. Sunday roasts with 'all the
trimming's' - we tried beef and pork - had everything a Sunday roast should
have. Somewhere rather spiffing to go' (Fay Machsler, Evening Standard)

    Our experience was good as always, just a bit annoying thing was. I’ve made my booking 3 weeks ago with a note in it that we’ll be 4 adults - 3 kids for a dinner and we were placed by the riverside door which even if the door was closed but the service was by that door to outside space it was not pleasant and the manager couldn’t managed to swap places so we seated to lounge area and order by the bar which is fine. My expectation was booking earlier with a special note and (dropped by them to check is all good 10 days ago) will help us to get at least an average table to sit and enjoy the evening. Other the. This all was good as always, all the staff was lovely, foods were tasty!

    Sat under the lovely willow trees by the river and dining experience heightened (!?) by lots of little bugs in hair, wine etc! Food great apart from girlfriend's hispi cabbage possibly substituted for raw lettuce (lettuce debatable but def not fried). Service great, very attentive, lovely evening for us & the bugs! Thanks

    Great riverside spot, good menu and food was great quality. Had a burger. Was very good. Bit pricey but the location is with it.

    We love visiting the Crabtree, the ambience and service lead by Rudi and his team is always exemplary. Our last visit however was a tad disappointing not because of the food or service but they did not offer lunch dishes when it clearly stated on menu lunch dishes available on Monday and our visit was on the bank holiday Monday.

    Love the Crabtree and the service was great as always. I had the Chicken Kiev which was fantastic but the “wedge of salad” is just a cheeky rip-off. A quarter iceberg salad with some dressing and crispy onions is not the level of detail I’d expect from the Crabtree in general and even more so when I pay £19 for my food. Not impressed. It clearly would have not been a big deal to make a nice vinaigrette with chopped tomatoes, cucumber, spring onions etc… some herbs.

    The food came before our wine/beer, had to tell the vaittress to check …. pore or no controll on the serving.

    Great customer service and the food was delightful. The portions could have been bigger but overall. a truly wonderful culinary experience with a fantastic view of the river Thames.
