The Cellar is the perfect setting for an intimate and romantic evening of fine dining. In 1969, artistic craftsmen of Disneyland fame created a romantic rendezvous in the cellar of the old California Hotel. Intimate and cozy, the dining room is elegant amid structured arches and cave-like walls that are deecorated with wine casks and silver lanterns. Culinary excellence abounds with only the finest and freshest foods prepared in a lighter version of classical French cuisine and finely crafted cocktails which set a benchmark for all of Southern California!

This was my first time here and what caught my attention was the Victorian goth look but what solidified this as my restaurant of this year was the food and drink “the green mile” was my favorite. The steak for 2 was perfect along with the lobster soup and the bone marrow! Definitely coming here every single month, if I only remembered my waitress name but she had the best suggestions and service I ever had

We had a reservation for our wedding anniversary and we decided to try this place close to home. The appetizer was good, nothing spectacular. We had the bone marrow. Our entrees were delicious though, 10/10 without question. Definitely worth trying if you've never been.

This is my first time leaving a 1-star review, and I’m truly disappointed today. This restaurant ruined everything I had planned for celebrating my husband's birthday. It wasn’t just the management—the food wasn’t good either. If you're considering this place because of the 4.7 rating, don’t bother. The only things this place has going for it are that it looks nice for photos and has a decent drinking atmosphere. The food, however, is not good. The cocktails were great, though. We ordered appetizers—there was uncleaned grit in the escargot. The best dish we had was the grilled octopus, but it was only “good” compared to the main courses. The French onion soup was average, nothing special. For the mains, the chef’s choice was lamb chops, but no one asked us how we wanted them cooked. We also ordered the pork chop—it had no flavor, the meat wasn’t tender, and it simply didn’t taste good. We had no idea what we were even eating. All of the above might’ve been forgivable because the ambiance was okay. I had noted during the reservation that this was a birthday celebration. When we were seated, both the host and server said “happy birthday,” so I thought they had it covered. But when it came time for dessert—the most important moment—I asked two female servers if they could add a "Happy Birthday" decoration to the dessert. Both said yes. I had seen photos online of birthday celebrations at this restaurant with candles and decorations, so I knew they were capable of it. But when the crème brûlée arrived, there was nothing on it. A male server brought it out, and I’m certain they never communicated with each other. This crucial, basic detail was completely overlooked. I’ve never had a birthday dinner go this wrong at any other restaurant. It was just... served, plain. So I ended up not being able to celebrate my husband's birthday properly—just awkwardly handed him a gift and ate dessert in silence. The crème brûlée wasn’t even freshly torched—it was cold

Thank you, Cellar restaurant for making my daughters 21st birthday a complete success. We really appreciate you accommodating our seating requests and the excellent service provided by Jasmine. The chef special was tasty! The tenderloin and filet were tender, flavored well and were cooked perfectly to the temperature we ordered. The Octopus appetizer was unique with one large tentacle that added fun to the meal and added a flavor profile we had not had before. The chocolate souffle topped off the meal in grand fashion, and a thanks for the complimentary Creme Burlee. It was a special night!

We came here to celebrate our son's college graduation. We had a large party (10) and felt unrushed as we enjoying conversation. The service was top notch and the food was delicious. It did hit my wallet pretty hard, but not a single regret. Great value.
