Never a disappointing time at the cellar!
The mai Thai and old fashioned are great drinks - highly recommend. The place is very romantic wether outside or inside, great lighting. The pork chop is moist and savory also highly recommend the meat & cheese charcuterie board. The soufflé was perfectly baked , had the chocolate one yum! Service was outstanding can’t wait to go back.
Dined here on a cold rainy Wednesday, couldn't have asked for a better experience. We were nestled underneath the eves with heaters provided to keep us warm. We did bring our own blankets in case, but we didn't end up needing them. Our server, Shannon, was remarkable. She was accommodating to my 3 year old son, he loved the truffle macaroni and cheese she suggested. The soufflé presentation 👌 chocolate with chocolate *mouth-watering * it was the perfect mid week dining destination 🥂
It was great I would definitely go again when I visit California again
There were multiple issues with this place. We had been to Cellars before COVID and we liked the food and service. This was our first time back since before COVID. We had a reservation and when we arrived they tried to put us at a table far from the heaters and kind of deserted. When I asked for two other tables that were available the hostess said that she needs to ask the manager. We stood for a while until she returned and offer us a similar odd table on the opposite side. When I asked about the other tables she said that they were reserved? Upon further questioning she said that the servers in this section are busier. They finally let us seat at the table we asked for after 15 minutes. The service was very slow. We asked to sample a wine before we order the bottle and they brought it but later told us that it wasn’t the same wine we asked. The appetizers were average and the bread was doughy and not good. French restaurant without good bread is a joke. The food was the worst part of the experience. Salmon was not cooked well and had no taste except it was too salty. The chicken was very undercooked and had no spice except being too salty. We sent the chicken back and forced to eat the salmon. The manager did come and took off the wine and chicken from the bill but our dinner was ruined and we left hungry and disappointed.
Hands down one of my favorite dining experience during the pandemic. I had booked this place as a celebratory dinner for both my finacee and me. I had proposed to her earlier in the day so I wanted to make sure it was romantic. I am happy that I chose this place because the Cellar did make it romantic for us. Although we sat in the courtyard, it was the best choice since we were surrounded by patio lights and the beautiful architecture.
Our server Andrew P. was also awesome. He took the time to explain to us their drink and food menus. Once he found out about our celebration, he took it upon himself to provide us a celebratory dessert creme brulee.
Overall it was a wonderful expereince.
Love the Cellar, can't say enough about their food, service and ambience, even outdoor dinning is a beautiful and romantic setting. And, as always, complements to the Chef and kitchen staff as well as the wait staff. Couldn't be a better place. THANK YOU CELLAR.
The food was absolutely amazing! Cocktails were excellently crafted! But our server made the whole experience such a pleasure. We definitely cannot wait to go back when the seasonal menu changes. A new lifetime favorite!
My server was great and friendly.
Love the Cellar. Only complaint is my potatoes came out cold.
Filet was amazing as usual.
My wife had the scallops special and it was excellent.
The Cellar has been on my list of restaurants at which I've wanted to dine for a while, and I chose it for my birthday. I was sorely disappointed.
First, let me say that our server was lovely and was the one highlight of the evening. They were also attentive to COVID precautions and had a romantic patio setting.
When my husband and I were seated, we were promptly provided a cocktail menu. When our server returned, we asked for a wine list, which was a sparse 4 page listing.
We decided on the Escargot for an appetizer, the Nordic Blue Salmon en Croute for me, and the Duck à l'Orange for my husband. There were five entree options. I was surprised to see such a limited menu.
When the escargot arrived, we were confused. Where were the snail progs and tiny fork? And when we lifted the pastry puff cap, which was delicate and quickly became soggy, where were the snails? We fished them out of the sauce only to find that they were rubbery and overcooked. The flavors were very one note, having no depth and feeling just drab, bland, and way too earthy.
I was delighted to see the use of a beautiful cloche for the entree. I had a bite of my husband's duck. It was bland and chewy, missing the pan sear. The hash was missing the Brussels sprouts other than some leaves. When I looked at my Salmon, it looked so drab in comparison. A couple of simple herb sauce dots would have brightened up the presentation of the plate. If I was not starving, I am not sure I would have finished my plate. The puff pastry was so thick inside it was soggy. The salmon was on the verge of overcooked. The sauce was heavy on mouth feel and heavy on dill. Where was the lemon zest that could have brightened the heavy ingredients? We decided to skip dessert. If there had been more interesting options, we would have gotten dessert.
Though this might be a seasonal menu, it was less than stellar and way too heavy, even if it was winter. It needs modernization and more options.
Amazing! A little pricey but worth the money for the 20s/30s ambience and great food and drinks.
Valentines Day, was lovely all around. Food, atmosphere, service all spot on!
Amazing place. They're using the courtyard area which they've strung some lights that adds to the dining experience. The food was well prepared and their hand-crafted cocktails are terrific. Fullerton is fortunate to have such a restaurant in their downtown area.
We went at a perfect time while the sun was setting, so the outdoor dinning was perfect. Not too cold since they have heaters. We were celebrating my daughters 16th birthday & she loved it. Food was cooked to perfection, the husband & I will definitely be going back.
If you're looking for fantastic food, cocktails and service this is the place for you!
I love this place. It was a bit pricey but definitely worth it.
Delicious Valentine’s Day Dinner! The craft cocktails were amazing. They had one with a Rose Petals that actually smelled like roses whenever you took a sip.
Great dinning experience and service.
Keep up the great work.
My husband and I took our daughter for an early Valentines dinner. It was beautiful out in the courtyard. There were plenty of heaters to keep us warm. Food and service were excellent.
Everything was exceptional!
A memorable and enjoyable experience. Excellent food, fantastic service, and sublime drinks. We loved it!
Always the best place for a date night!
We love being outside, beautiful courtyard and always the best drinks and dinner!!
The Cellar has the best cocktails around, plus the service is amazing. CA lockdowns are hurting local eateries, but you can go support them!
Delightful open air heated courtyard patio.
Great dining experience while most restaurants are closed. Service was excellent as well as the food. I had the filet and my wife had the Sea Bass. We both really enjoyed our meals. Dining in the courtyard was different from being downstairs but still a great experience.
Andrew our server was absolutely a pressure to have attending to us and the staff was so gracious to everyone their. My brother, his fiancé and I will definitely be back to enjoy a night out! Fabulous place recommended to anyone!
Seeing as it was closed due to the pandemic we did not actually get to eat here. Being able to say we have a reservation at the cellar was amazing on its own. 11/10 would recommend
My husband and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary and it was so beautiful and romantic. Due to Covid restrictions many nice restaurants have the dining experience in parking lots and personally, I feel it ruins the romance and not worth the price. The cellar has outdoor dining in the open quad area and it did not disappoint. The service was amazing, and the food was delicious. It felt like we were vacationing elsewhere so I would definitely return!
Have the owner contact me (626) 347-8656. Things need to get better here.
We went Saturday night for my wife’s birthday along with another couple. The service was extremely slow, they were out of the bottle of wine we chose....and worst of all was the French onion soup. It is as clearly watered down so as to get them through the last night. After tasting that, we were not going to risk what the entrees might come out as. Asked the server for the check and left for restaurant across the street.
The Cellar is always a pleasure to go to. They always have great service, food and drinks. One of the best restaurants to go to for a anniversary, birthday or even just to relax and enjoy your a afternoon or night.
Best lobster bisque ever. Wonderful drinks and attentive service
Dinner was wonderful. The service was a little slow but it was Thanksgiving and we were not in a rush. Food was excellent. Plan on going back at Christmas. Our server Andrew was awesome.
Amazing thanksgiving lunch. Ambiance was great. Service excellent.
Food and drinks are always outstanding. I got the escargot, side of brussel sprouts, and french onion soup. All were delicious! At first we were sat on the outskirt table where it was cold and dark, shortly after we were moved closer to a heater without asking and were very pleased. I love a place that anticipates needs prior to me asking!
Lovely dinnner with great food. Good attention to COVID safe practices
Took my wife there for her birthday and was very disappointed with the service and over 6 minutes of wait time before someone came to our table which kind of killed the mood for the rest of the night. It didn't seem too busy at the time also. We were excited to eat here even though it was an outdoor setting. So after a great day we had, we ended up with a bad birthday night.
Amazing service during Covid. Waiter was amazing and knowledgeable. Glad to see there are still professionals doing their best during these hard times
The waiter was not attentive to guest seated on outer tables. Waited about 10 mins to be served and had to ask a host to be served. Food is great!
