ALex I believe was our server and he was great. The ambiance was amazing- the food was sooooo good that I ordered a second bowl of the bisque. I absolutely want to return.
Very enjoyable evening
Came here to celebrate my mother's birthday. Everything was great! We'll be coming back very soon :)
Service was excellent. Health and safety protocols were followed strictly. Staff were warm and welcoming. Food was exquisite and overall experience was very memorable.
I loved everything about this place. Foood was great. Drinks were amazinnnnngggggg!!
Wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion. The service was impeccable, as always, and the food never disappoints.
It had sadly been several years since the last visit, but it was as good as ever. The service was top notch and the filet and duck were outstanding. Definitely try some of the cocktails, they are will worth it!
The Cellar is a unique experience. This was our first time dining here celebrating birthday after a long shut down due to covid19 pandemic. The food was good overall even though a little salty with some of the dishes. Service was good. The place is ambient and the music is pleasant and relaxing. I would definitely come back for other occasions.
Relaxing ambiance. The service was great and the high quality of the food are worth the price. The portions are a healthy size. The deserts are not too sweet or large as well. After leaving I felt a satisfied-type of full.
Always a good experience at the cellar. I wish their Sister Mexican restaraunt had the same level of service, but no complaints at all for Cellar.
Very classic yesteryear dining experience. The food was okay not like Ruth Chris or Flemings. I’ve had better steak for the price point. It is a historic dining experience though since 1969. My hats off to the ownership for keeping a business afloat that long especially after Covid.
Beautiful restaurant that focuses on food, service and letting you absorb the specialness of the moment. We were there for our anniversary and enjoyed everything minute. Thank you for the memories we created.
First time dining at The Cellar heard great things and was glad I finally decided to try out. And I was not disappointed. Service by Andrew was amazing and the food was on point. Definitely will be back.
My boyfriend and I had dinner at the cellar Friday night to celebrate his new job, and the service, food, and cocktails were all spectacular! Our server, Luis (I think), was attentive and knowledgable about the menu. The scallops and filet were superb, and the Irish Goodbye was a showstopper cocktail. Thank you making our experience memorable and enjoyable!
Was one of the first restaurants I wanted to engage once things opened up and am I glad we did! I was with a couple who had never dined at The Cellar before and it will certainly not be their last. Our greeting, cocktails at the bar, escort to the table and service at the table was impeccable as was the Chefs Culinary talent‼️ Thank YOU All for a memorable evening
Absolutely fabulous b day place. From the specialty drinks to the cozy cellar it was perfect. I would highly recommend the Lobster Bisque. Sooooooooo yummy.
Kitchen was slow, but everything else was perfect.
Grad dinner was amazing!
The Cellar is restful and relaxing on the patio or in the cellar. Excellent service and cuisine. Satisfying and never filling. The Cellar variety invites you back for more wonderful tastes and memorable dining.
Most Ambiance, most romantic, place I've ever been to, and I will be 71 this June. The Lobster Bisque is the best, yummiest soup I've ever had. I mostly eat the great tasting steaks, and their garlic mashed potatoes are also great. We just went, on Mar 16 2021 for the indoor dining, and great food. Great attentive service too. Big wine list of available wines, also.
1st time dining inside at The Cellar in a year since pandemic shutdown in March 2020. Not disappointed, same great ambiance, service, and food. Pre dinner cocktail and wine with dinner were good. Aged ribeye and scallops entrees were cooked great and very tasty. Looking forward to the next time.
Andrew was our server and he was amazing! The food and experience was pristine. Definitely going back soon!!
Our waiter was fantastic. His suggestions on the menu were great. Everything we ordered was delicious. Favorite was the lobster bisque. Can’t wait to go back when we can eat inside the restaurant.
It was outdoors because of covid, cocktails and food was delicious. Service was fine, overall, it was a nice evening.
Food was mediocre at best. Lack of salt was very apparent. The pork chop wasn’t bad and the drinks were very good. I’d go again just to have a drink.
We had an amazing night! The salmon and scallops were delectable. First class services! Thank you for making our dinner very special. We appreciated the complimentary birthday dessert.
Never a disappointing time at the cellar!
The mai Thai and old fashioned are great drinks - highly recommend. The place is very romantic wether outside or inside, great lighting. The pork chop is moist and savory also highly recommend the meat & cheese charcuterie board. The soufflé was perfectly baked , had the chocolate one yum! Service was outstanding can’t wait to go back.
Dined here on a cold rainy Wednesday, couldn't have asked for a better experience. We were nestled underneath the eves with heaters provided to keep us warm. We did bring our own blankets in case, but we didn't end up needing them. Our server, Shannon, was remarkable. She was accommodating to my 3 year old son, he loved the truffle macaroni and cheese she suggested. The soufflé presentation 👌 chocolate with chocolate *mouth-watering * it was the perfect mid week dining destination 🥂
It was great I would definitely go again when I visit California again
There were multiple issues with this place. We had been to Cellars before COVID and we liked the food and service. This was our first time back since before COVID. We had a reservation and when we arrived they tried to put us at a table far from the heaters and kind of deserted. When I asked for two other tables that were available the hostess said that she needs to ask the manager. We stood for a while until she returned and offer us a similar odd table on the opposite side. When I asked about the other tables she said that they were reserved? Upon further questioning she said that the servers in this section are busier. They finally let us seat at the table we asked for after 15 minutes. The service was very slow. We asked to sample a wine before we order the bottle and they brought it but later told us that it wasn’t the same wine we asked. The appetizers were average and the bread was doughy and not good. French restaurant without good bread is a joke. The food was the worst part of the experience. Salmon was not cooked well and had no taste except it was too salty. The chicken was very undercooked and had no spice except being too salty. We sent the chicken back and forced to eat the salmon. The manager did come and took off the wine and chicken from the bill but our dinner was ruined and we left hungry and disappointed.
Hands down one of my favorite dining experience during the pandemic. I had booked this place as a celebratory dinner for both my finacee and me. I had proposed to her earlier in the day so I wanted to make sure it was romantic. I am happy that I chose this place because the Cellar did make it romantic for us. Although we sat in the courtyard, it was the best choice since we were surrounded by patio lights and the beautiful architecture.
Our server Andrew P. was also awesome. He took the time to explain to us their drink and food menus. Once he found out about our celebration, he took it upon himself to provide us a celebratory dessert creme brulee.
Overall it was a wonderful expereince.
Love the Cellar, can't say enough about their food, service and ambience, even outdoor dinning is a beautiful and romantic setting. And, as always, complements to the Chef and kitchen staff as well as the wait staff. Couldn't be a better place. THANK YOU CELLAR.
The food was absolutely amazing! Cocktails were excellently crafted! But our server made the whole experience such a pleasure. We definitely cannot wait to go back when the seasonal menu changes. A new lifetime favorite!
My server was great and friendly.
Love the Cellar. Only complaint is my potatoes came out cold.
Filet was amazing as usual.
My wife had the scallops special and it was excellent.
The Cellar has been on my list of restaurants at which I've wanted to dine for a while, and I chose it for my birthday. I was sorely disappointed.
First, let me say that our server was lovely and was the one highlight of the evening. They were also attentive to COVID precautions and had a romantic patio setting.
When my husband and I were seated, we were promptly provided a cocktail menu. When our server returned, we asked for a wine list, which was a sparse 4 page listing.
We decided on the Escargot for an appetizer, the Nordic Blue Salmon en Croute for me, and the Duck à l'Orange for my husband. There were five entree options. I was surprised to see such a limited menu.
When the escargot arrived, we were confused. Where were the snail progs and tiny fork? And when we lifted the pastry puff cap, which was delicate and quickly became soggy, where were the snails? We fished them out of the sauce only to find that they were rubbery and overcooked. The flavors were very one note, having no depth and feeling just drab, bland, and way too earthy.
I was delighted to see the use of a beautiful cloche for the entree. I had a bite of my husband's duck. It was bland and chewy, missing the pan sear. The hash was missing the Brussels sprouts other than some leaves. When I looked at my Salmon, it looked so drab in comparison. A couple of simple herb sauce dots would have brightened up the presentation of the plate. If I was not starving, I am not sure I would have finished my plate. The puff pastry was so thick inside it was soggy. The salmon was on the verge of overcooked. The sauce was heavy on mouth feel and heavy on dill. Where was the lemon zest that could have brightened the heavy ingredients? We decided to skip dessert. If there had been more interesting options, we would have gotten dessert.
Though this might be a seasonal menu, it was less than stellar and way too heavy, even if it was winter. It needs modernization and more options.
Amazing! A little pricey but worth the money for the 20s/30s ambience and great food and drinks.
Valentines Day, was lovely all around. Food, atmosphere, service all spot on!
