Visiting Seattle for the first time
Visiting Seattle with kids for the first time and decided to dine here for our Chinese New Year reunion dinner. Fantastic experience. Our server was attentive and pleasant. Food was excellent. Will return whenever we are in Seattle.
Yes for steak of course but the prawns were not very tasty. My salad came after my companion's chowder. And my entree came after I had just started salad.
A little to dark in the area we were seated. We couldn’t read the menu.
The creamed spinach is my favorite thing in the world. I don’t even like spinach!
The fillets that the 3 of us had were excellent. The Wedge salad was excellent. The comments that I have concern the side order of green beans, which by current 'vogue' standards were probably excellent as well, just not to my liking. The 'vogue' seems to be to saute with olive oil, which I hate! And, also probably prepared 'en vogue' to be crispy; mine seemed extra crispy to the point of being more suited for a salad than a hot side dish (they weren't hot either). Bread is also 'en vogue', hard, stiff and some bitter. Would prefer the old fashioned fluffy, soft, yeast dinner rolls...just my preference. Service was excellent; waiter was very attentive, responsive and informative. On our next visit I will simply try other sides and forgo the bread. There WILL be more visits, overall excellent place to eat...definitely in step with the times and current trends...just not for an old fuddy-duddy!! Definitely recommend.
I like going to the Capital Grille, however I have to only go once and a while. As the prices for lunch can be a little high. The food is great and the service is superb.
While this is primarily a steak place, the sea bass was wonderful. The lobster bisque was creamy and flavorful. The desserts were decadent.
Everything was pretty good. When I ordered the wine, the waiter poured out a tasting to which I realized it was not the correct wine. When I told the waiter that this wine wouldn’t do and asked for a different one, he rushed away clearly upset, before I could apologize. He was very short with us for the rest of dinner doing the bare minimum for his responsibilities. Nearly ruined our engagement celebration.
Filet was very tender, cooked perfectly to order. Salads were VERY, very tasty (one wedge for me and one pear for my husband). Bacon 'bits' were actually small chunks and were so good. Strawberries w/cream for dessert was simple but absolutely wonderful and not so filling after a big meal! It is refreshing to have this as an option instead of a huge serving of cake, pie, or such! Service was excellent. This was a new experience; we will definitely be returning!
Chris was an amazing server! Excellent!
From the beginning, the service was impeccable. We had a reservation and arrived early, but were seated immediately. Our waiter was incredible. Always on top of his game, knew everything about the menu and answered all of our questions perfectly. Now the food, from appetizers to our main course, every bite was delicious! We didn’t want to stop eating! The flavors were on point! I highly recommend this restaurant! You will not be disappointed! We will most definitely be returning!
The hostess put us close to the main entrance and this made for a distracting evening. It was compounded by staff then sitting someone who was there for a "date" which apparently went south due to the female date bringing along her sister, who was a surprise for the businessman was surprised to see that she was accompanied as it was not on her "profile". He ended up walking out and the two females began calling for other "dates" from the table. Not our idea of a nice night out at an upscale establishment
Children in the restaurant were very distracting. We brought a 10-year-old and he ate with no disturbance. Our waiter was fantastic!
We had a fantastic dinner before the symphony that night. The service we received was outstanding and the food was delicious.
We were disappointed. The medium-well steak was overcooked. It didn't have the expected tenderness, juiciness, and flavor. Service was good, but not exceptional. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, which was a departure from previous dinners at this restaurant. Hopefully, it was a rare anomaly.
Been going to the Capital Grille in other cities since around 1995. Steak was not seasoned. The drinks are smaller and the waiter was very ineffective. For a $600 meal I expected more.
Best steak we’ve ever had!
Outstanding NYE meal great service and staff one of our favorite spots in seattle
Superb. They made our son’s birthday very special and had great veggie options too!
Manager Steve Smith placed us in the perfect table for our needs (tv and in front room) and was very helpful when ordering! Our waitress, Amber, was very professional and quick to keep everyone happy! Thks!!
Excellent food and service along with great wine options (we brought two of our own and ordered a third from the restaurant). Our server, Carlos, took outstanding care of our party of 10. We definitely will return next time in Seattle. Highly recommended!
We had exceptional service and wonderful food. The steaks were all cooked exactly to the requested preparation. Everyone from the bar tender to the wait staff were a pleasure to encounter.
Typical evening at Capital Grill, they were busy. Waiter very experienced. Food order for 4 of our 6 people was wrong which was surprising, but was quickly made right. After dinner, right before dessert when table was engaged in sharing photos around the table the servers came and took wine glasses away without asking if we were done. Still had a little wine in carafe. Waiter waived corkage fee and comp’ed a couple glasses of wine. Just a bad move on wait staff’s part to not make sure table of 5 were done with wine service. Have had better dinners at Capital Grille before, will write it off as just a bad night.
Our server Rod was awesome as well as hosts. Exceptional service and delicious food. We will be back again!
My boss and I come here a lot - sometimes together, many times with clients, co-workers, and other guests. It never disappoints. The food is excellent, the wait staff is very knowledgeable and attentive.
If you are looking for a special lunch, this is a wonderful place.
Noise level was great because we were in private room which was an unexpected surprise. If not the overall noise of the very full restaurant would have made it very difficult for my FIL to hear the conversation.
Great food and service. The decorations are unique and funky for "fine dining" but it fits for Seattle.
Beautiful atmosphere and impeccable service made for a wonderful holiday meal here. Food was outstanding.
Great service, great food. Waiter was attentive, friendly, professional. What you would expect at a high end restaurant. This was our first time, we definitely will return.
A beautiful restaurant with ambiance to spare.
We were seated promptly, the service was impeccable, the food was perfectly cooked and delicious!
It was a gorgeous experience from the moment we stepped inside to the last sip of coffee.
A varied menu with lots of options, friendly informed staff and great sourced products.
We will definitely be back!
Awesome evening, great food and excellent service
We had an excellent meal last time. This time we were disappointed. Shrimp were overcooked and way overpriced for what we got. Gin and tonics are way overpriced for what you get also.
Stick to the steaks which are excellent
Christmas with girlfriends
Great food, wine selection, and staff.
It was a busy holiday lunch time but our waiter was very good. Food delicious.
Love the Capitol Grille, great food, excellent service, great value for the money!
Excellent, as always, from the food to the service to the ambiance! We were celebrating our 51st wedding anniversary, and The Capital Grille treated us to a special dessert and "champagne"!
