   The Capital Grille in KC is our "go to" place for birthday & anniversary celebrations. Our anniversary meal last week was no exception. Our server (Fred) was wonderful and is in the spirit of the old school servers who we've enjoyed over the years. Will definitely request him in the future.

   My husband and son took me here for Mother’s Day last Sunday afternoon. Benjamin was our server, he was wonderful! We were never wanting for anything, he made sure our drinks were topped off, if we needed another cocktail, etc. we never felt rushed by him, he was friendly and attentive. Our appetizers, the calamari and the crab cakes were delicious, and, unfortunately, was the best part of our meal. I had the filet mignon, which was prepared properly and was tasty. My husband and son each had the 22 oz. Bone-In ribeye. My son’s had tons of gristle and was not very tender. My husband’s didn’t have as much gristle, but was not up to the usual standards at Capital Grille. For our side dishes we had mashed potatoes, which were kind of gloopy, the brussel sprouts were overdone and had burnt pieces, and the mushrooms were quite soggy and no real flavorful gravy/sauce, just seemed like they were in water. For dessert, we had a piece of the specialty Crème Brûlée cheesecake, which had a very uneven graham cracker crust and was not chilled at all, barely room temperature and not very appealing. For a $450 dinner, we were all quite disappointed. Not sure if we would return for another meal.

    Waiter and service 5 star! Front desk not so much but overall one of the top restaurants in Kansas City! The waiter could not have been more professional! The food was great and they go out of their way to make it a special occasion which it was.

    Had a lovely meal here with my husband. We had a late lunch and weren’t too hungry, unfortunately. We ordered the tenderloin and lobster tails which the kitchen split for us and the au gratin potatoes. Both were delicious! The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and the lobster tails were divine. Our drinks were wonderful as well! Service was upstanding and attentive! Highly recommend! Come hungry!!

    Capital Grille has great food but the value is no longer there. The drinks were skimpy and not topped off. If we am going to spend $15-19 per drink it should be a FULL drink. We realize there has been inflation, but we can no longer afford to eat there. We are double income professionals and can no longer justify paying these prices. It is really sad.

    Looked forward to dinner because it had been a while we had dinner at Capital Grill. The server spent most of her time talking with 2 other tables and was hard to order and when she did take our order she was very rushed. When the food came we did not see her for quite a while. My steak was way overcooked and wanted to send it back but no server in sight. She showed up as we were getting finished and I informed her of the overcooked steak. She said they would redo the meat but I informed her she was not present for a VERY LONG TIME and was a little late and she said she was busy with 2 other tables and immediately disappeared. Won’t be going to Capital Grill.

    Easter brunch. Service was not great. I know it’s busy so my expectations are low, simple things were consistently missed and we had to keep reminding our server to bring items. I will always give grace but it gets old after 3, 4, 5 times. We dine here a few times a year and unfortunately the service is below average every time.

    Service was good. Steaks were tough and the waiter attempted to justify. As pricy as this restaurant is, all of the meats should be tender. I asked him to notify the mgr or chef. Nothing was done. Will most likely not return. My funds will better service a steak restaurant that’s sensitive to my concerns.
