The Britannia never fails to deliver - good food, nice ambience and attentive staff. A lovely evening dining on their terrace is good for the soul!

As always the welcome is warm and friendly, and the service is attentive -and with a smile. The upstairs terrace with its view into the trees is a favourite summer destination. No sign of the Tempura prawns on the menu, but we all enjoyed the asparagus with its slightly spicy sauce, and the John Dory was as good as you will find. The temptation posed by the dessert offering was too strong to resist- and we were not disappointed.

Early evening dinner for fathers’ day; great experience. Thoroughly enjoyed the excellent service, great food and ambiance. Will be back!

Staff were lovely and had a table in their nice sunny garden. The food was ok, but it didn’t seem a very ‘summer’ mains menu alongside the roasts on offer, which my family enjoyed. Just a cod in quite a heavy sauce or a vegetable risotto which certainly would have been too hearty on a warm day. Only side dish on offer was a quite undercooked and tasteless cabbage.

Service was very good, not too intrusive. We sat outside and the space was good with the tables well spaced apart. There was a large party ay one table but because of the space noise wasn't an issue. The food was very good, portions a little on the small side but still pretty good. Not the cheapest place in town but very acceptable for what we had. Would definitely recommend it and go back myself.

Wonderful venue, food was outstanding and the King Tiger Prawn and Monkfish curry was exquisite. Impeccable services.

The staff were amazingly attentive and Ollie made sure our party of 12x were all content. The food was delicious and the portion size was spot on ! The outdoor area was perfect and when the rain came we were all under cover. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Britannia, and happy to give it a 10 out of 10 endorsement. The wine list was also comprehensive and the Pinot Noir was so good we ordered several bottles 👏🙌🏻👌
