The Blue Bonnet Restaurant
I ordered soup and had to send it back twice for being cold. The server could not remember anything and it was the worst experience I ever have had there.
Fantastic diner, comfort food with great dishes having a Mexico, New Mexico flare.
We also enjoy the food and service at the blue bonnet. Great to have a safe place for gluten free food where the staff and food prep is so well educated!
Wonderful as always! Love Blue Bonnet!
Food was very average and we were charged a tip for our large party and tipped on top of that because nowhere did it make reference it’s was included and couldn’t find anyone to verify. Last time going I have taken out of town era twice this year both times food was as average as Apple Bees.
I love how Blue Bonnet handled my reservation on Saturday. There was a room full of people waiting to be seated and they sat my group down right away even though we were a few minutes early. I love Open Table and I love Blue Bonnet!
Love eating here - for over 30 years .., place has serious Denver history.
Keep it up for another 30!!!!
They do a great job with gluten free options and have a separate menu for that.they also have specifically gluten free chips
This is some of the best authentic Mexican food in the Denver area. We have been going there for years and it’s always good. The portions are generous, too. I personally love the strawberry basil margarita. My only suggestion would be to make the salsa thicker. It’s watery. I prefer chunks of tomatoes, etc.
This place is especially wonderful for celiac sufferers who crave Mexican food. I had the tamales with a fried egg on it. It was so good!
A great evening with friends from out of town - excellent food and service. Making reservations was easy on line for our 8 people and they handled us immediately even though half the people arrived 30 minutes early. The staff was so friendly and the costs were reasonable for such great food! She quickly brought drinks, and dinner. All the while checking on us and responding with new drinks, coffee etc. Was a great place to go and we will definitely be back. I am a dear friend of Sonya Goff-Jones and she always talked how great this restaurant was (she worked there) but this was the first time we went. Great new favorite place!!!
Great comfort food!
Always have excellent food. The beef chimichanga is the best along with the queso
Nine of us had a very enjoyable lunch there last week. We had made a reservation and our table was ready when we arrived. The food was delicious. Several of us ordered off their specials-of-the-day menu. Our server was excellent. He provided separate checks for us and was a very friendly guy. I would highly recommend the Blue Bonnet Restaurant for great, authentic Mexican food.
Really good Mexican food and a decent amount for the price. Try their flavored margs! Service can be a bit slow sometimes but decent for most of the time.
We’ve been coming for 15 years and are always so pleased with the food and the service! Love this place!
Get together for far-flung cousins. Exceptional time, food and service
Food was bland. Table of 5 for a birthday celebration. Orders were wrong. Really loud in side. Chips were stale. First and last time eating here
Food was great, recommend fish tacos and tamales
As first time visitors to Blue Bonnet we really did not know what to expect. The only valid stick against which to measure was our experience at other Mexican restaurants. We generally avoid this kind of restaurant as they are usually way over-priced for what you get. We made reservations for a party of 2 at 8 pm on a Friday. In any case, they had plenty of staff on duty, we were seated quickly and our waiter was attentive. I ordered the Tacos al Carbon and my wife ordered the Seafood Enchiladas. I should have known better than to order anything containing steak as I have visited Mexican restaurants around the world and none of them know how to cook a steak and keep it tender (I spent a lot of time chewing). The enchiladas, on the other hand, were heavenly. The portions were plentiful, so we actually had some leftovers. The dishes were slightly more affordable than many of the chain restaurants, so that was a pleasant surprise. It was a good experience over all. We want to go back and try their Happy Hour which has a number of inexpensive eats and drinks. Overall, we enjoyed Blue Bonnet.
We have been going there for years. The food has always been great. I went there for my birthday with my husband, son, and his girlfriend. He got my sons order wrong but it wasn’t that big of a deal. I ordered Carnitas which is my favorite thing. My Carnitas came out so overcooked they were fried hard. No tender meat no big chunks. Just little pieces that look like they got left in a deep fryer and never had gotten removed. It was completely a mess. Honestly I was up all night with a huge stomachache. I should’ve sent back to the kitchen. When I saw it wasn’t cut properly I should’ve just been smart and sent it back. I didn’t wanna cause a problem with everyone we were at dinner with so I didn’t. This is normally a great restaurant. I honestly have no idea what happened the other night but it was not what it used to be. I hope it was just an off night.
Always a delight to dine at the Blue Bonnet. A neighborhood gem!
Overall it was a very good experience. My only complaint was that the gazpacho was much more spicy than anticipated. I'm not sure if it included hot chiles or some kind of minced spice but it was not like any gazpacho I've had before.
Love love love Blue Bonnett
Just go there you wont regret it.............................................................................................!
Just love the food; waitress was great. Go there often.
Great experience all around...from ease of reservations for party of 6 on the patio,to Joshua our very attentive server, to quality of food/drink, to us closing down the restaurant that particular evening 45 minutes after said closing time without a word said to rush us out. Thank you Blue Bonnet for such a nice evening! Can’t wait to come back!!
Good food. Great price. Awesome location. Thank you Lydell. It was a pleasure
The chile rellenos were the worst I have ever had and believe me I've had many. The noise level inside was deafening. The waitress was very good however. I won't be going back.
We have been long-time patrons of Blue Bonnet, so maybe they were having and “off night”, but our experience has lead us to not want to go back.
We should have taken stock of the fact that there were only about ten other people there.
Our food was terrible. I mean Velveeta cheese terrible. The service was slow and the drinks were expensive and seemed to be mostly mixer; very little tequila.
A really bad experience and left us feeling disappointed.
Love this place! Good food, good service (with a smile), good drinks!
Good food/great service/good beer/outside patio and inside seating
Pretty standard fare: nothing special. Priced for a family outing
Went to Blue Bonnet for Father's Day, a family tradition. The food was excellent as always but the service was a bit off, possibly a new waiter. Didn't matter that much, good food and family.
Took out of town family to the Blue Bonnet. Service and food were excellent. Highly recommend the Watermelon Margaritas!!
Excellent food. Great prices. Quick service. Strong margaritas. All goes checked. Recommend!
The service was over par. We went for a birthday and our single server seemed too overwhelmed to take care of a party of 7. People skills were lacking, but the food was great and was accommodating for a vegan diet.
Food was not as good as it usually is.
I made a reservation for 10 and ended up having several more and the staff were totally wonderful and accommodating. My apologies but thank you!
The service was not great. He was in hurry to help other tables. Food not like I remember. I was disappointed in overall experience.
