Our server was not very engaged. The server who brought our food was very matter of fact and never smiled. We never warmed up to anyone or anything. Food was okay but not wonderful. Photos are discouraged in the restaurant so no photos to share.

This was our first time at The Bachelor Farmer. We went for our 25th wedding anniversary. From start to finish, we were impressed with it ALL! It’s been almost 3 weeks and I’m still dreaming of our meal! My husbands pork chop was THE BEST we’ve ever had! Our server was personable, helpful, present, but not more than we needed him to be. Drinks, food, dessert—all top notch! It was a little noisy, but it was just diners’ glee, not music. We will for sure go back on for another big event :)
My sister-in-law was in town from Boston last week. She had heard good things about The Bachelor Farmer and wanted to try it. She heard about it, as it was nationally recognized and she had never eaten at a James Beard Winning Restaurant before. So, that was my first pick for her! Thankfully, I could get a reservation on Open Table on a Sunday night. We had an excellent dinner and desserts! Our server was very good! A great experience and to thank us, my sister-in-law paid for our dinner that night! Wow! a WIN-WIN!
The food was excellent as always! Our server was not helpful at all about the wine list and for that reason I did not give the service top rating.
We had high hopes but were not impressed. Super strong emphasis on buying wine off their bottle list which made it seem like the waitress would get a commission. We had drinks downstairs at Marvel which was really good ( & expensive) but a bit hard to decipher on the menu what the drink ingredients were. The dinner menu seemed a bit light on options and our waitress did not offer up much by way of explanation or recommendations. Pretty much all of our menu choices ended being just okay---but not fantastic. A bit of a let down and we probably will not be back based on our first experience...
Very upscale farm-to-table dining experience. Food was delicious and our server very knowledgeable about all aspects of The Bachelor Farmer. Did not expect this level of dining in Minneapolis. Bravo!
Holy cow! Our night was spectacular! The food was interesting, fresh and delicious. Our server was absolutely FANTASTIC! He explained everything perfectly and made great & honest recommendations. We asked him to surprise us with the wine and his selections were incredible! We'll be back for sure!
The food was amazing. They have a way with vegetables. Marinated turnips surprisingly delicious. Charred kale so smoky, so good. Beets were great as well. Then we also ordered lamb shank, tender, rich not overly lamb-ish. Only complaint was our first bottle of Rose was not thoroughly chilled.
Each item that we had was flavorful, fresh, and a culinary delight. The main course was flavorful, melt off the bone lamb. Definitely would recommend it!
Celebrating our 50th and chose this spot. Wonderful. The setting is delightful and the food was very creative. Loved it. Would invite the chef to offer a few more vegetarian choices.
Serving staff and management outstanding. They make every dinner a special occasion. Special acknowledgement to Amy and Chloe (all the time) and Tasha during our last visit.
I love so many restaurants in this area (Spoon and Stable, Butcher and the Boar, Bar la grasa, Smack Shack, Four bells). Cute place, good cocktails and our service was great but all four of our entrees were pretty bland. We can check it off the list but I won’t be back.

We had a phenomenal meal, service was incredible and overall experience was +5 stars. We'd go back next time we visit Minneapolis. Specifically the sauces were so unique. The chicken was the best I've ever had. WOW it was great!

Being from Boston, it was a thrill to see Northern Pike as the fish of the day. It is a delicate fish, often disparaged as boney, that was simply and beautifully prepared. A great treat. We shared a tomato board served with homemade fresh cheese, similar to homemade ricotta and a dense, whole wheat sourdough bread. (This was such a generous plate, it could stand in as a lunch.) Marinated turnips sat on a pool of basil parmesan cream and surrounded with baby greens - altogether heavenly. Alas, if only it weren't so far from Boston, I'd eat there often.
Everything was fine. Toast was great. Service slow. Over priced. OK.

We had an excellent meal. Service was wonderful. The key lime pie was out of this world for dessert. We had eaten year a couple of times several years ago and were much more impressed this time around. Good work!

What a wonderful meal! We had the groaning board and it was the best charcuterie sampler we've ever had. The popover was also amazing. The wine glasses were reasonably priced and the service was great.
Super great atmosphere and service. The food was quite remarkable, with layered flavors of unique combinations. However, the pricing is a bit high, and portions can be a bit too small for what you get.
Took some out of town guests here because they were interested in Nordic inspired food. I’ve been before and I always enjoyed it.
The wine by the glass was very interesting we each had a couple of glasses. I appreciate the chalkboard approach for wines by the glass.
The main entrée portions, however, are so small that all four of us were still hungry afterwards —despite having ordered appetizers and popovers. I ordered the chicken at the waitresses recommendation. Each bite was tasty but I was served less than a full chicken breast. There was about five slices. I understand that fancy restaurants traditionally served small portions, but these were just unsatisfying. And for $30, I expect more !
I will consider going back to sit at the bar and have a toast and a glass of wine, however I’m going to go somewhere else with guests. They even joked about the small portions the next day, and I felt embarrassed!
We took my husband's parents here as part of their Christmas present. They live in nowheresville and are not used to indulging in fantastic food and hand-crafted cocktails. We all had such a good time, and our server went above and beyond to make our experience a fabulous one. She brought three (three!) "gifts" for us throughout our meal that we didn't ask for, but we gladly accepted. It was so sweet, and made us feel special. Maybe she does this for everyone, but my husband and I have eaten here at least four times before this night, and that's never happened before. So we just thought that was really nice, and we very much appreciated it. We all loved our meals as well as the appetizers we shared, and the drinks, as always, were so, so good. Tusen takk for a wonderful dining experience!
Decent but unimaginative. Lots of fresh ingredients but flavors not very distinct or balanced. Overall fine but not somewhere I'm eager to go back.

We asked our server to course out a meal and her picks were outstanding. Flavors were spot on, food was well seasoned and well executed.
This place is was just blah. Moaning board was great but the rest of the meal I felt was solid-nothing spectacular and not worth the price.

Fresh ingredients in a unique treatment of farm to table. The asparagus starter was sophisticated yet simple.
I suspect this will have been one of my best meals this year. Who would have expected a pickled turnip salad to be so delectable? The combination roast lamb and lamb sausage accompanied by rhubarb was seasonal and succulent, the raspberry panna cotta a pleasant light finish. The wine list is enthralling (especially to a single diner or an abstemious couple), helped by a policy of pouring a half-bottle of many of their better finds and offering the remains by the glass. Well-trained staff.
Our food was delicious and our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our meal and will return.
